  2. Well, I'll say that they have a decent young rotatiom but a weak lineup and their depth is atrocious. I feel bad for Pittsburgh fans, the nicest baseball stadium I've attended, yet such an uninspiring team. 6th place finish... PROJECTED LINEUP 1. Matt Lawton RF 2. Jack Wilson SS 3. Jason Bay LF 4. 3. You're worse then Hitler, Rant.
  4. Good to see him caught. Just for the sake of starting a likely controversial argument around here (like we need more of those!) should female deputies presiding at the front of court rooms be reviewed? I mean, he overpowered the presumingly smaller deputy and probably judged in his mind (correctly) that he could take a woman. Or at least add other deputies for those presumed to be violent criminals, something needs to be looked at...
  5. Not that I want to get in the middle of this, but I think you misunderstood him. I took it as saying, not advertising on wrestling because of stereotype that wrestling fans are ignorant would be like not advertising on NBA games because the stereotype of blacks is that they are poor...i.e. just like not all blacks are poor, not all wrestling fansare ignorant...It was poorly worded, though.
  6. Boy, I can sense the excitement for this one. Here's Metlzer's preview: *Jeff Jarrett vs. DDP for the NWA title. Originally this was booked to be a title change, but it's doubtful it will happen. Well, he does own the company so it's his personal vehicle. And Jeff is hardly the first person to confuse "go away" heat with intense money drawing heat, particularly when it involves himself. Still, this match will probably be as good as any, if not the best Jarrett main event, since they've gone to monthly shows. *A four-way deal for the X title with A.J. Styles, Ron Killings, Elix Skipper and Christopher Daniels. It starts with a tag team match with the loser of the fall eliminated. Then it goes to a three-way, with the guy getting pinned eliminated. It ends up with two men, presumably Styles and Daniels, in an Ultimate X match. Styles and Daniels have been consistently excellent on PPV and there is no reason this match, particularly the final one, won't be just as good *Kevin Nash vs. The Outlaw in a taped fist first blood (you know, so nobody has to do a job) match *Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss in a falls count anywhere match. I can come up with lots of ideas for a falls count anywhere match at a theme park, but the question is how much the two will be allowed to do. This will either be wildly entertaining due to creativity of the outside the arena stuff, or there will be no outside the arena stuff and it'll largely be a waste of time *Raven vs. Dustin Rhodes in a bullrope match. After seeing their match last month, the odds don't look good here, since a bullrope match is much harder to do than a regular match. *Monty Brown vs. Tryton. Horrible booking as Tryton needs to squash people, and Brown is not someone who needs to be squashed. And booking these two against each other can easily hurt both of them badly. *Ron & Don Harris vs. Phi Delta Slam to determine which woman gets to sleep with Dusty Rhodes in storyline. The less you think about this stipulation, and the shorter the match is, the better it is for humanity *AMW & Konnan & B.G. James vs. Team Canada. Johnny Devine is questionable, so it may end up as a six-man. They'll probably use this as the opener, and it'll probably be very good. AMW and Team Canada were fantastic a few months back in a regular tag. I doubt it'll come close to that level or they'll destroy the show, but should be good. *Chris Candido & Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens vs. Matt Bentley & Buck Quartermain & Lex Lovett. This is on the pre-game show and should be a short squash *Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt vs. Cassidy Riley & Jerrelle Clark. Ditto. What I will say is that thus far, the TNA PPV shows have been blowing away the WWE shows. Even the Rumble as an overall show couldn't touch the last three TNA shows, and you don't event want to get into comparisons with shows like New Year's Revolution and No Way Out.
  7. Grrrr...he's not the only O's fan around here, you know. Oh well, maybe he'll throw them back in, if he ever comes back from AWOL... I'll be there at 9:30 btw. Make sure to give a chat link!
  8. The Tigers are going everything they need to do to improve lineup wise, and looking at their lineup, it looks as good as any in the bigs. This team will score runs. Their bullpen is good too with Troy Percival, Ugueth Urbina and Kyle Fanrsworth making a good nucleus. But their starting pitching still looks abysmal. I mean, O's back of the rotation washout Jason Johnson is still their ace? But everyone seems high on Bonderman so maybe he'll step it up. Anyway, I like the Tiger's chances in a weak division and will pick them to improve to 3rd palce. EDIT: I re-thought this, and while their lineup is stronger then Cleveland's, its not by much, and Cleveland has much more consistent pitching, so I'm going to reconsider and say 4th place but an improved record. PROJECTED LINEUP 1. Alex Sanchez Craig Monroe CF 2. Carlos Guillen SS 3. Ivan Rodriguez C 4. Magglio Ordonez RF 5. Dmitri Young DH 6. Rondell White LF 7. Carlos Pena 1B 8. Brandon Inge 3B 9. Omar Infante 2B Rotation 1. J. M. Johnson 2. M. Maroth 3. J. Bonderman 4. N. Robertson 5. W. Ledezma
  9. As badass as that would be, I'm not so sure the Impact Zone has a high enough ceiling for that match. And speaking of that, I don't think it would be out of line for TNA to charge higher ticket prices for Lockdown if they did a WarGames with two six-sided rings to make up for the lost seats. Do they even OWN two six-sided rings? Yes. Remember from June to September they had a ring in Nashville for the weekly PPVs and a ring in Orlando for iMPACT! I'm sure they still have the Nashville ring somewhere in storage...

Rhodes has selected several TNA personalities that will serve as enforces at ringside during the bout. Their mission? No cheating – no interference! The decision came from Rhodes following recent controversial outcomes to Jarrett’s World Title matches. The TNA participants who will serve as enforces will be announced Sunday during the Pay-Per-View! THE ULTIMATE X MATCH CHALLENGE FOR THE X TITLE! On Friday’s Impact, The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels earned his championship rematch opportunity by beating Chris Sabin to advance to the event this Sunday. FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss Since the Monster Abyss returned to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling at “Final Resolution” he has searched out one man to destroy, “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy. These two uncontrollable forces faced off last month in a hellacious Tables, Ladders, Chairs & Chains match. Such a career threatening bout will usually end a rivalry but the escalating violence between these men will continue this Sunday, March 13th in a falls count anywhere match at “Destination X” on pay-per-view. Universal Studios has been the battleground the last few weeks on “iMPACT!” The two have fought and stalked each other around Soundstage 21 and are preparing to end this rivalry once and for all. Jeff Hardy has made a career of offering up his body for victory and seems to have an un-human threshold for pain. Abyss fears nothing and doesn’t think twice about inflicting pain onto anyone that stands in his way. With no boundaries set, it is scary to think just what might happen at Universal Studios this Sunday only on pay-per-view. 11. I have the DRays finishing ahead of the Blue Jays for 4th place. Their questionable young pitching makes the O's staff look like the mid-90s Braves in dependability, though. Their lineup is real iffy too with some good young hitters but beyond that it's like a hodgepodge of journeymen veterans... PROJECTED LINEUP 1. Carl Crawford CF 2. Roberto Alomar 2B 3. Aubrey Huff LF 4. Josh Phelps DH 5. Julio Lugo SS 6. Travis Lee 1B 7. Danny Bautista RF 8. Alex Gonzalez 3B 9. Toby Hall C Rotation 1. M. Hendrickson 2. D. Brazelton 3. S. Kazmir 4. D. Waechter 5. R. 12. Yes I did watch ECW. RVD's interviews weren't much different except he called himself "The Whole Fucking Show" and made more explicit pot references....
  13. That match was decent, but its far from a MOTY contender. I tend to judge these things by how the Observer and Torch views it, and both rated the match ****3/4 and give it the lead so far for MOTY (I'd personally put Ultimate X from Final Resolution above it though).
  14. Oh, it's official, I'm today's #1 poster. Yey. I notice I also have the oldest registration date amongst that list. Pathetic...
  15. I think in ironic tribute Dr. Tom should select Lee Smith:
  16. So...does Senator Byrd still think Bush is a Nazi?
  17. I realised I'm 2 posts away from being listed as "today's most active poster". That's utterly depressing. I know it's mostly because of my obsession with checking and posting in the fantasy baseball threads and being up on the forum all night to kill time between writing a paper due in a few hours. But, like, still...
  18. I'm actually not ALL that liberal. Most of my domestic views are pretty central, if not towards the right. To the right of what? Communism?
  19. Come on, Mike. I'll admit the main eventers of TNA can not come close to the workrate and drawing power of WWE's main eventers, but the depth of the midcard and utilisation of tag team and cruiserweight (X division) wrestling far surpasses WWE which has become land of the muscleheaded guys who do full nelson's as finishers. Let's put it this way, when WWE puts on a weak show, if their main event doesn't deliver, the show will crash because their undercard is going to be a disaster (this is especially true of Smackdown), mostly because of the terrible workers but also because of the boring, homogenous style they work. With TNA, even a percieved "weak" show like Against All Odds with Kevin Nash in the main event featured the concensus match of the year so far in AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels Iron Man. I'll admit TNA's booking and pushing decisions aren't always great (then again, are WWE's?!?) but TNA's undercard depth, match variety and working styles smoke WWE's.
  20. He's by no means my hero, infact, i'm happy that he has been caught. he deserves to be punished for the terrible acts that he committed against his own people. As long as he's not humiliated, right?
  21. Well, he is your hero and all. I'm sure the day he was captured in that hole was very emotionally troubling for you...
  22. Should I be ashamed that I've never heard of him?
  23. How about just an idiot? Don't insult the fine granola eating peoples of the world...
  24. Mine does. That's an awfully stupid thing. I've never even knew there WAS such a thing till this. Yup, most do in fact, for reasons like this. They don't want the crazy lady with 40 cats, or people like the Hogan's pratically operating a farm. It brings down the neighborhood in some people's eyes. As an animal lover and finds Hulk Hogan pissing off old people funny I support him!
