  1. Sig representin'....ahhhhhh yeah! I really can't wait for this. This is like WWF is early 1998, UFC is on the verge of breaking out, you can feel it...
  2. Oh well, not every show is going to be a homerun. You took a risk going in ordering a card headlined by Kevin Nash vs. Jeff Jarrett (a match from the start I neither endorsed nor condoned). We've established that they've put on 2 excellent PPVs and 2 average PPVs. That's not a bad ratio and sure better then WWE. I mean, this is ridiculous, it's like saying "I ordered WWE Aramagddeon and it sucked, but then Royal Rumble got great reviews so I ordered No Way Out and that sucked! What gives? Im not ordering Wrestlemania!" Check out the card for Destination X when it becomes more clear, if it seems worth your purchase, go for it, if it doesn't skip it. It's your own choice. Not every card is going to be PPV of the year. It was impossible to live up to the standard the last 2 set. Judged on its own this was a good show with some suprisingly decent matches. I'm sorry your were dissapointed. If you want to give up on TNA because of it, fine that's your peragotive. Just don't bitch if the next one is good...
  3. Can't wait. Go Wizards! Gilbert's gonna clean up in the skill's challenge too.
  4. Hahahahah, I love watching Leko fight. Maybe he'll get poked in the eye leading to a TKO or something equally ridiculous...
  5. Ratings are a matter of opinion and therefore subjective, to each his own. To simplify matters I'll just say I thought the tag title match was good. For comparisons sake, the match against Team Canada at Final Resolution was great...
  6. Ratings are subjective, to each his own. To me DUD is worthless, * is below average, ** is average, *** is good, **** is great and ***** is perfect. In my opinion it was a good match. Simple as that.
  7. Finally saw the show, and I'm honored that I'm "called out" to defend TNA. You know what? I don't feel like it. You all can hate on TNA all you want, you're not going to buy the shows or support them, so why should I argue at a brick wall? The Torch and Observer both gave the show above average reviews. I think they're a better authority then you or I for any bystanders looking for an honest non-biased review. In short, it wasn't as good as Turning Point or Final Resolution (which I'd give 8.0 and 9.0 respectively on the 10 point scale) but not as bad as Victory Road (which I probabl;y had as a 5.0). I'd rank it a solid 6.0 and YES it was still better then Armageddon or New Years Revolution and right around the same level as Royal Rumble. And it will be better then No Way Out. You can't have a homerun every month but this was still solid. The main event was better then it had any right to be. I can not and will not defend putting Nash vs. Jarrett as the main event, it's asinine, BUT I will give credit where it's due and say Nash was working as hard as I've ever seen him work. The Cello spot was actually really clever (well, until the handle fell off) and Gunn and Waltman showing up give TNA back that "suprise edge" (Waltman got a BIG pop and he looked like he's ready to prove himself again). They even had several good false near falls at the finish. **1/2 Styles vs. Daniels was there expected **** match that built logically and kept interest for 30+ I shouldn't have to defend them since if you've worked for ROH before you get a pass on the criticism. Abyss vs. Hardy was exactly what it should have been, a spot fest. The dive off the stage got a big pop and the end spot through the tables (but overshooting most of them) was a sick finish. I'd give it *** on the spotfest scale. AMW had yet another solid tag team title defense, both Kash and even Hoyt were working hard with them for a solid *** match that might not have been as spectacular as the last 2, but you can't always be. Otherwise, DDP and Brown got in their signature spots against a good bumping Team Canada and Skipper and Williams had a solid opener. Raven/Dustin sucked and having Hammond pin Kazarian was a joke but otherwise nothing wasn't at least decent. Hate TNA, I don't care. The majority of wrestling reviewers and journalists share my opinion that it wasn't another PPV of the year but it was still a good show with a suprisingly decent main event and 2 or 3 above average matches...
  8. Shoot, I hope it's a leverage move, but I can see him being pissed having to put over Jeff Hammond basically clean...
  9. Wait, you passed it again?
  10. Actually the end of the article states there will be a 7 second delay in case Rock or someone else gets too edgy...
  11. I would venture to say yes. We're all sinners. That's kind of a given. Sin is a concept within a religious structure which I do not believe in. Just saying. Christ. No pun intended. Then just substitute "sin" for "fallibility" or "wrongdoing" or "iniquity". Surely you can fit one of THOSE concepts into your paradigm. Stop forcing your rigid moral code on us, you zealot...
  12. You get college credit for watching pro wrestling and the elitists still find a way to complain, tremendous...
  13. For the people writing out these elaborate plans to hype it as Kurt Angle's last match, remember they weren't hyping Ausitn vs. Rock at WM19, they basically kept it quiet, same with Kurt's neck injury (which we thought was career ending, well it should have been, actually) against Brock at...uh Wm19 (boy was that show screwed up). No reason to think they hype this as his last match, I think Kurt just goes about it quietly...
  14. No, HBO on demand is free with a regular HBO subscription...(same for Showtime, etc.)
  15. I agree with Tom. It's pointless to try to stereotype it to a region. It would be nice to think that someone like Dr. Rice based on her qualifications and proposals could get elected, but the truth is there is still a lot of supressed racism that might not be outward but is definitely still ingrained that would prevent a black WOMAN no less, from being elected President. Just because we're fairly educated, reasonable people, that doesn't mean that most voters will be. The best shot of her getting elected would be as Vice President, coat-tailng a "nice safe" white male lead candidate. Then, after serving as VP, MAYBE having the familiarity and trust to be elected President. I had a conversation a while back with a friend actually when I proposed that Dr. Rice would be the perfect candidate, a Republican that also attracts blacks and women. My friend countered that many Republicans would be reluctant to vote for a black woman because of traditionalism ingrained in many rural areas of the country while black Democrats wouldn't vote for her because many of them would brand her "a traitor" or "really white" or whatever other stereotype that's commonly used to brand a minority a "sell out" if they're a Republican or conservative. And the more I thought about, he's right.
  16. If you're a new fan, it was the recent UFCs and Pride's that got me into it. All the recent UFCs are on DVD and readily avaliable in stores now. Pick any of them up and you're bound to like them. Pride doesn't release its DVDs nearly as quickly but older ones are avaliable and most have something good. In fact, on the very first page of the thread, I posted this, so use it as your guide I guess: Since then UFCs 47-50 all are worth getting (I was at 50 live and posted an extended report on it wherever that thread is).
  17. Michaels ended up having back surgery in 1999. -Paul Jacobi- Yeah...and he returned almost 4 years later, at full strength. What point did I miss here? (not that Im saying it will be the same for Angle and a fused neck, it just seems like you're correcting me some how, what's your point?)...
  18. Too bad UFC isn't worked, huh? There's really only one satisfying outcome and we're not guarenteed it...
  19. Yeah, this was a total double turn.
  20. You also assumed that Angle can come back from full-blown surgery. He can't. I never assumed that. I'm just saying if Kurt wants to hold on to a miracle, he can look to Michaels who after 4 years of R&R could make a comeback. Realistically though, Kurt gets the surgery, is given some roles in WWE films to bring him into acting and then has an agent job for life, and an on air role as a manager/commentator/general manager whatever if he wants it.
  21. I don't know the exact time but the whole season was taped before the first episode even aired, so they have almost 3 months between the first airing and the fight. Of course the final episode will be live fights....
  22. I think you all are missing the point here. Kurt tried the experimental to extend his career- it didn't work. He's needed the full blown surgery from the start. Wrestlemania 19 vs. Brock should have been his last match. I think Kurt will come to the same realisation Steve Austin came to 2 years ago. Remember, we didn't see that one coming...
  23. Kurt is a walking time bomb. Flair might be old, but he's still in good enough shape to wrestle his current style and schedule....
  24. Just said that he didn't forget what Angle did to him at Rumble and insinuated he'd be at No Way Out to cost Angle his match with Cena. Keller was just giving his opinion (possibily guided by some inside info he has?) that it might be Angle's last match. I hope he's right.
  25. File this one under: Well, duh. I mean, the closeup shot of Angle clutching at his obviously numb hand at the Rumble was a sobering visual of what this man is putting himself through for over a year now. He's a shell of his former self, he's risking permanent injury if he continues like this. Let him go all out with Michaels at Mania and call it a career. He'll have an agent job for life and I'm sure they could find something for him to do on air. (Hell, maybe WWE films could keep him occupied for a little while, give Kurt the acting bug to take his mind off of it). He should of course get the full blown surgery ala Austin, Benoit, etc. that he's desperately needed from the beginning and take a year off to rest and then, who knows, like his opponent, Michaels maybe with a few years of proper rest and training he could heal and have one last comeback...
