  1. I think they're brothers. But it's tough to keep track of the Samoan wrestler lineage...
  2. OH MY GOD!!!!!!! Please don't die!
  3. Actually, this guy is reminding me more of Don West without the Southern accent. Stop YELLING!
  4. This is my first time listening to this commentarry team. They remind of the ROH commentators, and not in the good way...
  5. OK, so apparently he doesn't know for sure if Tejada takes steroids, but he did "council" him about it as a rookie. What a jackass Canseco is. Apparently he also names Sosa (who he says he doesn't know for sure but "its obvious", what a douchebag), Brett Boone, Clemens, and some others. From the Baltimore Sun:
  6. Come on, bigol, we don't want our historic Current Events treaty to unravel! My point is, I don't think there's anything wrong with letting the best skilled people do the job. No, I'm not as brave as our soldiers, who are some of the bravest people in the world. Nor am I as physically cable to perform their job. This is why we don't have a draft, we allow the most skilled and willing to do the tough jobs. I'll agree that Mike goes a little far with his "oh, I'd like to go kill some enemy right now" shtick, and in that case it's pefectly valid to say, "well, go sign up!" but I think you need to understand that it IS possible to support the reasons behind a war without actively participating in it. I think you're missing the point that no one is being "forced" into this. By signing up for military service (especially in the past few years), you know that entails a possibility that you will be participating in armed combat. The people who signed up are fulfilling their obligations and doing so valiantly and serving a cause greater then any of us...
  7. Not the Family Guy viewers. He'd have to do a clean job, though. So HHH would have to be in it. HHH can be Pontious Pilot, who uses HBK's sacrifice to get himself over, and ends up a bigger heel for it...
  8. I agree, Mike, it was an incredibly stupid move to make Nash vs. JJ the main event, especially since the ending of last month's show begged for a one on one rematch with Brown and Jarrett. What makes it even more frustrating, is that for all the grief we give Jarrett about not jobbing or elevating new talent, the Observer was reporting that Monty was JJ and Dutch Mantell's personal project and that when they were in charge the plan WAS to switch the title to Brown, but when Dusty took over, he just didn't see Monty as a star and felt putting "known" names like Nash on top was a way to reach out to wrestling fans and sell more PPVs. It's like mind blowingly frustrating, that we're pissed at the old regimes decisions, and then right when they were about to do something we all aproved of, the new regime fucks with that. Anyway, I'm hoping that TNA's goodwill from their last 2 outstanding PPVs (neither one were paticularly strong looking from top to bottom) and a couple intriguing undercard matches like the ironman and Full Metal Mayhem will be enough to convince people to order. The results so far of my poll though, are shaping up the way I thought they would. Make your opinion heard by voting in that too.
  9. The scary part about this thread, if you all have made me want to catch Velocity for the first time in like months. It's kind of sad that WWE cares not one iota about this show that they could use as a sort of "AAA" to get some of their under utilised talent over. I mean lest we forget that Stephanie, the head writer, had no idea Stevie Richards was doing his "Stevie Night Heat" commisioner gimmick until like months after...
  10. HBK could do Passion of the Christ. All he'd have to do was sell and bleed for the duration of the commercial, shouldn't be a strecth...
  11. New stipulation for main event: USE THE GUITAR - LOSE THE TITLE!!! On Friday’s Impact, TNA Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes dropped a bombshell on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett when he announced that if Jarrett uses his guitar this Sunday against Kevin Nash – he will automatically lose the gold! Jarrett’s guitar has been his weapon of choice in ending several recent controversial NWA World Heavyweight Title Matches. However, this Sunday during the Pay-Per-View main event, Dusty Rhodes will be watching to make sure the guitar doesn’t come into play! With one less weapon available for Jarrett against the big Kevin Nash, can the champion find a way to survive “Against All Odds”? Feel free to post in this thread, by the way.
  12. You only nearly did it, you haughty, house up on a tower living coward...
  13. But did it make McGwire a better, more sensitive lover when Jose was injecting him from behind?
  14. OK, well I'll let you two fight it out on that point. But, just in general, support of the reasons behind the war and confidence in the men and women who are fighting it without yourself signing up shouldn't be contrued as hypocricy.
  15. So their only meeting apparently went like this: Tejada: Hi, I'm Miguel. Jose, would you inject me with steroids? Canseco: Sure! And then they parted ways....
  16. I think it's unfair to say someone can't be in support of a war without physically participating in it. That's why we have soldiers who do a brave and honorable duty. Honestly, I think they are much more skilled and brave and overall better people then myself and I trust them to do their job and support them in their missions. It's actually an apt comparison Mike uses, as cops and firefighters are put in dangerous situations every day and many lose their lives in the line of duty, but they serve our society in ways that not everyone has the qualifications or physical or mental makeup to perform. It's silly to think that because not everyone is actively participating in the fighting of crime or fire that we can't be in support of tougher crime or anti-fire measures.
  17. Sorry, that was the food man, I had to answer the door.
  18. My computer screen froze. Ok, its back now.
  19. Thanks for your contribution, feel free to join us 3 weeks later when you grow up...
  20. It's a digital cable technology called "On Demand". You have an on screen database of shows that you can select from and watch starting any program at any time and pausing it and rewinding it like a tape or DVD. The way 24/7 works would be like HBO or SHowtime On Demand, in that you pay a monthy fee to the cable company to get access to the menu of shows on your digital box. Then you can watch any of the shows in the category.
  21. Actually no, the website doesn't list any of the companies that carry it, which is an indication that not many do (I still haven't heard anything beyond one cable company in Pennsylvania) and thus there's nothing to really list. Reports are it's been a lot slower an idea to sell to cable companies then they anticipated. Comcast better get on this soon, they have every other On Demand channel it seems....
  22. bangs head on table
  23. Meltzer said there's a Shrek parody coming, don't know the details though...
  24. I agree, Nash vs. Jarrett is a glaring dark spot, but the rest of the card looks solid and based on the last 2 PPVs being 2 of the best I've seen in a long time from any company I will order based on the streak continuing, even if I'm back at school and will have to wait for the tape to come...
  25. Will update if more stuff is added... TO WATCH A VIDEO RUNDOWN OF THE CARD CLICK HERE: http://www.tnawrestling.com/againstallodds/index2.html NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Champion Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash On Friday’s Impact during a press conference held earlier in the day, it was announced that the main event of the February 13 “Against All Odds” TNA Pay-Per-View will be a NWA World Heavyweight Title Match between champion Jeff Jarrett and challenger Kevin Nash. Once close friends in the Kings of Wrestling, the faction of Jarrett, Nash and Scott Hall violently imploded in the weeks leading up to Final Resolution. Both Jarrett and Nash nearly came to blows during the Friday press conference and had to be restrained by TNA security. Nash’s last words to Jarrett echoed throughout the room: “Shine up that title – because it’s coming to me!” Literally, this will be the biggest challenge to date to Jarrett’s World Title reign. If multi-time World Champion Nash were to win the title, it would mark the first NWA World Title reign in his illustrious career. This company and the Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes, always watch out for their poster-boy,” said Daniels “but on February 13th, AJ Styles will be on his own, one on one with the greatest X-Division wrestler in the world. After 30-minutes, there will be nothing left of the Phenomenal One.” AJ Styles is coming off a victory at last month’s pay-per-view event “Final Resolution” where he re-captured the X-Division title in a historic Ultimate X match. “I have always been a fighting champion, whether it has been the World Heavyweight, Tag-Team or this X-Division title,” said Styles “I am not afraid of any challenge or any competitor, ten minutes, thirty minutes, it could even go an hour. I’ll take them on and I’ll leave Orlando still the champion.” TO WATCH A VIDEO PREVIEW OF THIS MATCH CLICK HERE: http://www.tnawrestling.com/againstallodds/index4.html FULL METAL MAYHEM (TABLES, LADDERS, CHAIRS & CHAINS) The Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss On Sunday, February 13 at "Against All Odds" live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View, "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy will face the monster Abyss in TNA's first-ever "Full Metal Mayhem" bout. Both superstars are on the verge of getting back into the NWA World Heavyweight Title picture, and neither is willing to let the other survive the bout. After beating Scott Hall at Final Resolution, Jeff Hardy declared he was refocusing on winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Enter the monster Abyss, who returned to TNA and attempted to obliterate The Charismatic Enigma. The object of Full Metal Mayhem? Hanging above the ring will be two envelopes - one of which contains a contract for shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Whoever survives to pull down the correct envelope will win the match!
