  1. You sound like Sean Hannity. I actually can't stand Hannitty so that's funny. He offers very little insight most of the time. I do like Rush though. Explain to me simply without going on a rant about the merits or execution of the war how else besides an invasion Saddam and his evil sons would have been removed from power? Unless you're saying you would support Saddam's removal but don't want to do anything about it. Go ahead. How can one be anti-Iraq war but pro removal of Saddam?
  2. Here's a brief article I found. Gist of it is that not all of the Iraqi army were the bad guys. Many had no choice but to adhere to their positions. Many could have been helfpful since they already knew their positions, knew the infastructure and could have helped identify and weed out the "bad guys" instead of starting people from scratch with new training which delayed the process and allowed for more insurgent planning and attacks.
  3. I don't see how Im the one being circular when you're avoiding my points and changing the arguments. I recounted an anecdote about wearing an anti-Saddam band to counteract an anti-war protest. You claimed that just because someone is anti-war does not mean they are pro-Saddam. I agreed, but clarified that by being for the war you are for Saddam's removal, you can not be anti-war and support Saddam's removal since one needs the other. You ignored this point and instead went off on the war's planning, not the logistic and semantic argument I was persuing. I took you up on this and agreed we could have better utilised the Iraqi army from the start, but again reminded you the merits of the war have already been debated to death, my only argument is how one can not be anti-war and for Saddam's removal. You ignored that again and started talking about the merits of the war again.
  4. Well you didn't hint on my point that we should have known better than to immediately break up the Iraqi army (Saddam's guard whatever they called it), since they pretty much had no choice but to serve for Saddam and I'm sure they would have taken orders from whoever was in charge at the moment and helped us secure things especially in the early going. Thanks for playing. I'm going to ignore the rest since its been rehashed a billion times around here. The only point I made is you can not be against the war and in favor of Saddam's removal at the same time. Nothing about the being a threat to the US, etc. Just if you truly were for Saddam's removal, you would be for the war.
  5. If you announce you hope the President is shot in the real world, things won't be as forgiving as on a message board.
  6. Frank (EDIT: France, don't know who Frank is! ) and Germany weren't coming, stop that fantasy. So either it was us or nothing. Even a draft wouldn't work because you couldn't just throw everyone immediately into combat without a year or 2 of training. So how would you have done it differently? HINT: There is a correct answer here that I want to see if you respond with, because there was one part of the President's plan that I disapproved with and think could have helped the situation.
  7. And that's a ridiculous statement to make. Anyway it is semantics but either you're in favor of the war and therefore for Saddam's removal or against the war and therefore against Saddam's removal. Because without the war, Saddam would still be in power.
  8. RedJed, you again mirror my thoughts! This announcement pisses me off so much because I want TNA to suceed and be accepted around here and by internet fans in general, yet by throwing a stinker like Jarett/Nash at us they do nothing to earn them good will and overshadow people from seeing what looks like an excellent undercard. I'm hoping with Brown not yet booked and plenty of time between now and the show that things will be reconsidered...
  9. True, but p.p.s. if not for the Iraq war Saddam would still be in power. So, on the contrary while others were saying they were anti-war, we were saying we are not pro war, but anti-Saddam. You can't both support Saddam's removal and be anti-war, that's the point.
  10. Um, ok. Just so you know there's no hard feelings. Hulks up, prays he can continue and the match can soon be over. Am I doing this right?
  11. Why did you put the word folder in apostrophes? Because honestly I have no idea what the hell this is all about. It's really not about discussing anything is it? What is it like a fantasy booking folder based on our TSM characters?
  12. Wow, I think this is my first post in this "folder". I don't know why I'm even bothering but I figured by quoting me in his sig, he found my comment funny or pathetic. Frigid, I've never had a problem with you. I stand by that your comment was offensive, though. As I explained I have friends working in the defense department that have told me several times that there is a very real chance shit could go down at the inaguaration, so it has been something on my mind for a while and your comment just hit that raw note with me. I'm sorry if it seemed a little melodramatic with the "pray" comment. For the record, I would fully endorse your unbanning from all the other folders too since I don't think you should be banned beyond CE.
  13. Yeah, back to the original topic, my senior year in high school a bunch of liberal students (and teachers!) wer organising a "walk out" in the middle of school, I think around or before the Iraq war as a protest, and they were wearing these stupid anti-war patches. So my friend cooked up some homemade black armbands with "Saddam" in a circle and a cross through it and distributed them out as a counter-protest. My film studies teacher was like the organiser of the thing (she was practically a hippy politically and was very vocal in her anti-Bush sentiment) and she seemed to avoid looking at me and the others wearing the anti-Saddam bands. I vaguely remember the principal not wanting to get involved in the whole thing but can't remember if a walkout actually happened or if some compromise was actually reached. What is it with liberals and not wanting to work/learn anyway? Everything is a protest and a walkout and a demonstration...
  14. Surprisingly enough, besides Teke asking if it would be fine if someone had made such a comment during the Clinton inauguration, this entire matter stayed away from turning into a partisan debate. I'm not saying it was exactly mentioned, but the way the divide goes, it seemed like there were very partisan undertones. No offense, but I honestly see it being exactly reversed had it been Clinton, no matter what we say. Come on, we are CE Board people. We talk politics. Can we REALLY be trusted that much? I don't think so, Justice. I'd like to think most of us are mature people who respect the President as the leader of our country regardless of affiliation and a person at worst, who does not deserve death wished upon them. I have no love for Carter but I surely wish him nothing but health and happiness for the rest of his life.
  15. I would agree with the CE ban. Some people are just total idiots when it comes to discussing politics but are fine and entertaining in other mediums. He deserves to be banned here because he showed with that comment he can't maturely discuss current events, but he's apparently fine elsewhere so what the hell.
  16. It was offensive and beyond the bounds of decency for this board. The mods are allowed the discretion to ban if they feel someone is being offensive or any idiot. It could also be argued as trolling, as in a somewhat comedy thread about Michael Moore, a serious comment about hoping someone kills the President (when unfortunately that it at least a possible scenario in such a high volatile enviornment-I wonder how he'd feel if it really happened?) is not only off topic but meant to incite a reaction and it's not something that should even be joked about.
  17. OK, but in "real life" Nash is practically a cripple who can barely bump. They can't possibly expect him to hold up his end in a main event title match and Monty Brown coming off a main even is not announced yet on the card. This leaves room over the next couple tapings for the match to be expanded. At least I should hope. If not, even I, a "TNA shill" will not be happy at all with the chosen main even. But the solid undercard probably still sells it to me.
  18. I've heard that too, but none of the threats are by a sniper. It was a stupid comment, but nonetheless, people make stupid comments on this board all the time. It's not banworthy in the least bit, and if teke would unpucker his asshole for a second, he'd realize that. All of the bannings that have come from this board are absolutely fucking ridiculous. I firmly stand by my previous assessment that the mods at TSM are absolutely horrible. Tyler, I know that but when friends in the know are basically saying an assasination attempt is pretty much expected I get pretty jumpy when someone says something stupid like that. Leave politics out of it, anyone who wishes a man's death in an already high risk, volatile situation is an idiot and deserves what he gets. Based on the official rules, he deserved to be banned under rules 5 and 7 and maybe 1.
  19. I fully support the banning. I froze when I read what Mascot wrote. It was incredibly offensive at best. I would never support the assasinaiton of the president of the united states regardless of political affiliation. I have friends working in the DOD and based on some rumors they've been telling me recently, I wouldn''t take comments like that lightly. I just want the day to be over and will pray for the safety of the president.
  20. Hmmm, I'm definitely skeptical of a Jarrett/Nash main event. I don't see how they wouldn't do a Jarrett/Brown rematch, then again Monty is not booked yet in this early lineup, so maybe there's more coming. Nash did practically nothing at Final Resolution so I can't see how they expect him to work a full blown title match, so there's probably more coming. I'll wait to pass judgement. But oh man, Styles/Daniels iron man match!?! That's salivatingly good and pretty much justifies an order right there. Abyss/Hardy TLC and AMW/KashDallas should be good too and even Raven vs. Dustin could be a good match. I need to see what they do with Monty though. I don't see how they can't give him a rematch....
  21. Some neat photos: More here: http://www.tnawrestling.com/multimedia/liv...l1/gallery.html
  22. What happend to "Eye Scream Man"? Renamed to Goodnight. Probably because "Eye Scream Man" sounds incredibly stupid. I mean, I know it's going to be a straight to video special but the name doesn't need to scream that out...
  23. I'm not. Under the same premise I could accuse half the board of being on the ROH payroll...

  25. I'm trying to like this but so far this has been pretty gay. Pillow fights? Running around in underwear? Peeing on each others beds? When's the fight training start?
