  1. Yes, they were on sale.
  2. You could just log out and read them if you were Gulag'd.
  3. If she were to go back to WWE, it probably would be more beneficial to the "Divas" division if she was on SmackDown, but I really want to see her have a match with Beth.
  4. That sounds familiar. Let me look it up.
  5. Gulagers tend to say nothing at all or ramble for no reason, never really reacting to anyone else.
  6. Hearing Mean Gene and the announce team say "Crackhead Bob" was worth a laugh. What a trainwreck.
  7. Don't turn this into an economy rant. The menu screen for the SummerSlam boxset uses the "FIGHT" song from SummerSlam 2002 (specifically HBK/HHH's video package) that was also on the Anthology CD set.
  8. Hold down the big silver button. I've never had a problem just hitting it to synch up my controller to any Xbox I'm in the vicinity of. Wii controllers on the other hand... God forbid I don't use them for over a month or it's re-synch city, and it can be quite the hassle.
  9. Oh my, Stampede is something else this week. Ted Arcidi seems to be pretty rough with his opponent, and then it's followed up with Makhan "Bastian The Lunatic Booger" Singh and Arcidi cutting a promo about Bill Kazameir being a steroid freak. Good stuff!
  10. I also enjoyed the Power Pod conversation.
  11. Boris Zukoff singing the Russian anthem is something else. Hogan mocking Sherri was pretty funny too. Mr. Perfect's tights are neat with that odd stripe pattern.
  12. It's true, it did not play for very long and I did consider the "sample time" loophole as a reason for it to remain.
  13. The card (and show description) says Mabel vs. Yokozuna, but I didn't see it. It's entirely possible that it was so bad I had to erase it from my mind, but I don't think so. Not that I'm complaining. Edit: I must have thought since I read it here, I read it on the program guide, but Mabel vs. Yokozuna is not listed.
  14. Here's something the 24/7 viewer in me noticed about SummerSlam 88: They get away with "Superstars of Wrestling" just fine. This normally requires some editing on 24/7 due to some copyright issue over the name. It was also odd hearing Patera come out to Olympic fanfare music, you'd think that sort of thing doesn't come cheap with the way the IOC is.
  15. I love the Ivory storyline. She's a HEEL because she tries to expose her opponents breasts, and Luna is supposed to be a face for making the save. Ok then. I haven't watched the show yet (because I will get there eventually now that I'm doing the SummerSlam boxset deal) but I thought about it some and in the grand scheme of things, it probably still is one of the Fed's better 1999 efforts. It just suffers from Russo fever at times. Prime example - leading up to SummerSlam, people thought Debra was finally going to leave Jarrett. So what do they do? Have Debra turn on Jarrett before the match even starts, then reveal it was a swerve... which was pointless because it was the Henry swerve that cost D`Lo the match! And then they broke up a month later anyway!
  16. I remember watching this show as "Winter Combat 96" and hating it (especially the awful Diesel/Bulldog match) BUT, and I've only watched one match so far, things are looking up right now: 1. The 24/7 graphic indicates the PPV is taking place not in "Winnipeg", not in "Canada", but the "GREAT WHITE NORTH"~!. Edit: My mistake, the show is CALLED "Great White North". That's less funny. The synthesized national anthem they play at the end of part 1 is awesome though. 2. Gorilla Monsoon indicates Dean Douglas is the IC champion, giving him "the rights and privileges" associated with such. This got me to think exactly what rights and privileges the IC champion gets. Front of the line access at catering? The fee of his rental car paid for? A private dressing room? This is certainly food for thought. 3. About 3 seconds after the bell rings for the opener (Makin' a Difference Fatu vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley) McMahon yells BAAAAAAAAAACK BODYDROP. That's always worth a listen. 4. The above mentioned match... actually wasn't bad. I would even say it was a good opener. Maybe I was just in a good mood thinking about all the rights and privileges Dean Douglas had. Also, does anyone remember who this ring announcer that looks kinda like Shawn Majumder is?
  17. Vince was a big Tajiri fan in 2004 or so.
  18. The what match looks really good? (hint hint)
  19. Mike Adamle is a goof though. However, I'd like to think they're smart enough to not treat BOTH of their world titles (sorry ECW) like the hardcore title joke, so I'll stick with the "officially recognized champion" line as meaning it's the only title change.
  20. Star ratings are totally subjective and mean nothing in the long run, but I'd go somewhere in the middle. I didn't think it was bad at all but maybe I was expecting the worst match ever.
  21. Judgment Day and Vengeance did see a wide DVD release in Canada but this was when Koch Video was roughly a month (or two) behind US schedule. I can't speak for nationwide but it seemed like they were still doing more VHS than DVD in 2002, but my only evidence for this is that I don't own Vengeance 2002 on DVD and had to settle for the VHS tape.
  22. The gravy line got quite the reaction in the audience I was in. I really enjoyed the movie and can't really add anything that hasn't already been said. It was a bit weird seeing Danny McBride and Bill Hader in movies two weeks a in row though, but good stuff.
  23. Church collection plate. After all, you've been blessed.
  24. HB to cabbageboy who is now 29. Almost 30.
  25. Because Mike Adamle is a crazy GM! Wait, he was just reading that announcement from Shane and Stephanie... maybe he'll be added next week? The scenario for Shawn / Jericho lends itself pretty poorly to have a match at Unforgiven. Had they rushed the build and had Michaels immediately renounce his decision to retire and attack Jericho, fine, but he's still sitting at home comforting his family waiting until "and then..." to happen. With 2 weeks until the PPV, they shouldn't just hastily add the match.
