  1. I suppose Rey beating Mordecai is part of that "Pushing established stars instead of continuing with failed projects" booking theory I read WWE wants to use. That is pretty neat that they are pushing Rey again. So after Eddie wins the title in two weeks, will the hype towards Eddie vs Jindrak at SummerSlam begin?
  2. AndrewTS: Not playing X7 is perfectly fine, as it's perhaps the worst Mega Man game I've ever played. It's nice to try new things, but I absolutely hated that game for going out of its way to be different and sucking while doing so.
  3. Concrete Crypt Match! Maybe they'll try for a blindfold match too.
  4. Gary Davis (WWE Vice President, Corporate Communications) sent the following to 1Wrestling: "Last night's "Concrete Crypt Match" was similar in concept to the "Buried Alive" matches of the past. No one was murdered. After the The Great American Bash Pay-Per-View went off the air, the crowd at The Scope in Norfolk saw Paul Bearer come up for air and then placed on a stretcher to receive "medical attention." There will be an update on Paul Bearer on this Thursday's WWE SmackDown! Stay tuned." I jokingly suggested to some people on IRC they do this angle, and there it is.
  5. I'm getting real suspicious here. I've been patiently waiting for awhile now since Meltzer reported way back in the Observer Bischoff's contract was expiring in July for some news on him signing a new one, and no such news has been reported yet. The last Raw of June comes and I'm wondering if for some random reason Bischoff will be fired on TV. Then, while watching the show, it's announced that for reasons I find far too convenient, Bischoff won't even be on Raw next week, and the inertim GM will be Eugene. While I'm sure everything is fine for Eric, part of me thinks there is some crazy plan where... A. Eugene does an awesome job and Vince makes him permenant GM of Raw B. Eugene does a horrible job, booking matches like Care Bear vs Easter Bunny, Bischoff gets blamed and fired. C. None of the above, Eric will still have a job in the WWE.
  6. I can't pass the snowboarding section of Frost Man's level in Mega Man 8. It took me several times to beat the easy part, but the one that starts you off fast kicks my ass. As a rule, I'm not good at levels in side scrolling beat em ups / action games where you're suddenly put on a vehicle and have to dodge things or immediately die (see: Battletoads) Shade Man having Ghost and Goblins music in Power Fighters is an awesome touch. Is it that way in the Mega Man 7 game as well? I don't seem to recall that.
  7. WrestleMania VII was in 1991. Paul Bearer was at WrestleMania VII. The end of the 1991 vs 1992 argument.
  8. This is all purely by reading results (and ignoring anger over JBL being champ), but it sounds like the actual JBL vs Eddie match along with Rey vs Chavo made an awful PPV only the 2nd worst PPV ever behind KOTR 95, which has no good matches at all and too many Mabel matches.
  9. So when does Undertaker get arrested? Will WWE be stupid and do a fake tribute or just act like this never happened (outside of Undertaker saying he turned heel on SmackDown, then forgetting about it because it's stupid later)?
  10. glennsoe does it again!
  11. Ok, so I picked up the game for $37 Canadian from Wal-Mart while replacing a broken microwave. Take that, overpricing Future Shop! I went with the PS2 version. Huh, interesting. The stupid French paper that is packaged with the Canadian box says it has the creator interview, but when removed, the actual box says footage from the TV series. I knew this already (although I thought the history piece was also a Cube exclusive, which it isn't) but I just find it odd the french slip is flase advertising.
  12. That's what I assumed it would be, but FutureShop.ca lists it as $49. They usually have good prices on games (Four Swords was $49 Canadian as opposed to $59 everywhere else I asked), and I can't check EB's Canadian price online. I figure I'l just pop in there today and check it out.
  13. The pricing of this game baffles me. It's $29.99 US, with 6% Michigan sales tax, works out to about $41 Canadian. Here, in Canada (Ontario), it's $49.99 plus 15% sales tax. That ain't right! So, all along, I was leaning towards the Cube version, but now I think I might want to go with the PS2 one just for the ability to toggle the music in game. If someone unlocks history of Mega Man though, tell me if it's good, then I might go with Cube.
  14. Where were the cops when the Masked Yuppie and the Iron Hillbilly had a match to determine which one would be unmasked and killed in the ring? Same deal with Bearer, I suppose.
  15. I like the Olympic Games theme of it.
  16. ROH was hoping to use Dreamer, but as the Observer reported, Dreamer has an office job that he won't be leaving since he has twins and all.
  17. You don't think the McMahon family would be crazy enough to use Shane's kid to play the baby, do you?
  18. Jeff Hardy will be the father.
  19. Flair vs Benoit was the main event last night in another market as well, and Tajiri was there.
  20. It's a shame Conan only does 2 commentaries as he was pretty funny. I got pretty mad when he didn't seem to be in the monorail commentary despite the episode booklet saying he was, but then I remembered there was probably a hidden audio track and found it.
  21. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Bomberman already released in the current batch of NES Classic games? Edit: Yep, and some of te other games on this list too.
  22. These attempted murder angles bother me more than any stupid angle in wrestling possibly could. I just don't understand why Vince or Stephanie or whoever feels the need to do them and have their employees commit a such henious crimes.
  23. Chavo Sr. was at the SmackDown! taping and lost a quick match to Rey Mysterio
  24. That was pretty good stuff and I'm interested to see what Ingrid has to say next week. Also looking forward to seeing Jonathan "J-Rocc" Torrens continue to plant seeds in "The Garden of Gay".
  25. Brian Gewirtz: Did I mention the baby would be a talking pie? Vince McMahon: Gewirtz you've done it again! *Happy Days Theme plays*
