And as I'm about to go grocery shopping, the DVD arrives in the mail! Hooray!

Big Show

I usually just order them online or cross the border and buy WWE DVDs from a Best Buy in Michigan, but I can see how that isn't an ideal solution for all Canadians.

Man, I got swerved twice in two days. Yesterday there was a knock on the door and a package left in the door, and I thought when I opened the door it would be my DVD... but it was a shirt someone else had ordered. Then today, the same thing happens... for SURE it has to be my DVD. Nope, it's the "WrestleRadio USA" book ECW Press wanted me to review in a column. I want my damn Benoit DVD! (However, skimming the book so far, it's pretty interesting).

You could just not watch it with that commentary in the future... Anyway, Amazon's streak of getting me things, even in Canada, within 2 days comes to an end, as today is Day 3 with no DVD. That's acceptable and all since they usually estimate 10 days or more, but I was getting used to that 2 day service.

Quite obviously Eugene, duh.
-
I actually ordered it yesterday, and then received an e-mail 2 hours later saying it shipped.
-
I received word from Amazon my DVD already has shipped. Given their current track record, I should have it Tuesday. So much for a delay!

"The Rock" vs. The Big Bossman - November 1998 - Opening Round of the Survivor Series Deadly Game WWF Title Tournament. Rock heads out first to a big pop. Then the DX music hits, as HHH was announced as the opponent before hand, but it turns out he's still injured list, so Patterson and Brisco come out instead complete with DX chops and what have you. They verbally run down Triple H, which at the time made some wonder if there was any validity to rumours Trips was headed South to be with his boys. 5 1/2 years later, those rumours were clearly false. Anyhow, it's announced Rock still does have an opponent, and it's none other than the Big Bossman! JR goes nuts on commentary due to the fact Bossman was eliminated earlier in the night and has no business in this match, and even accuses Vince McMahon of making up the rules as they go along! The dastard! Bossman runs in, but is caught in a Rock Small Package! 1! 2! 3! IT'S OVER! Rock advances to the next round of the Survivor Series Deadly Game WWF Title Tournament and receives a huge pop from the crowd, clearly unaware that their hero will turn on them later in the night. Arguably Bossman's best match of 1998, he and Rock really put out a lot of effort and good timing on this night, and the crwod response showed it. A big hand to both men for their fine work.

Since I've heard nothing about a contract renewal (which expired this month), I've been assuming for weeks now Eric is out the door. When they announced Eugene would be GM the first Raw of July, I thought that would be it, but it was announced (way back then... just so I can point out how little of a news bit this post is) he was just taking a week off to pitch these two shows.

Good stuff, Judas. Anytime you used the term "Flying car", I laughed thinking about Dante and Randal having a discussion during a traffic jam. Excellent work.

Anchorman- The Legend of Ron Burgundy

I enjoyed the commercials that have been airing this week ("Thank you, Canada, for making us the #1 comedy... oh we haven't opened?", "Thanks you Canada for helping us beat Spider-Man 2. Wait, we didn't beat it? Not even close? We haven't even opened yet?"), but I still don't know if I want to see it. I like Ferrel, but the previews aren't that hot. -
It was reported on PWInsider I believe.

I remember ages ago reading that WWE had fancy plans (and perhaps pants to match) to have Kidman and London team up regularly, then feud over the SSP. I wonder if this is the start of that. Also, I only skimmed the results, but is there no Undertaker this week? Hooray! I assume Cena losing the US title without being pinned is to set him up for WWE Title contender status.

Various spoilers, reports and stuff for this week

While I did forget they promised a 90 minute show (someone on IRC reminded me while I complained about my next item), I did remember them promising Matt, and I was quite pissed then the hour was up with no sign of him. Outside of being flasley advertised to, I enjoyed the episode. Interesting stuff with Ingrid there. -
How long until Eugene's Office shows up on auctions.wwe.com?

I was thinking maybe for Spider-Man 3, Peter would fight Harry (Goblin) and do poorly, until he found the symbiote suit. Stuff would happen, he'd lose the suit, and then the final scene of the movie would be Eddie Brock finding it. I suppose they could even have MJ have a rock from the moon that former fiance John Jameson gave her that the symbiote was hiding in.

I remember seeing this on Albinoblacksheep, but the guy wasn't blindfolded then. Also it was quite short, while this is 10 minutes. good stuff.

Am I hearing things or does Dr Light totally mess up a line in Mega Man 8 after the first four robot maesters are defeated? It sounds like he stumbles saying "Mega Man", actually. I knew it was hilariously awful voice acting / directing from the opening, probably the worst this side of the original Resident Evil, but wow, it just kept getting worse (and funnier).

Didn't notice this until the 2nd time I saw it with a different group of friends, but mother f'n Phil "Green Lantern" Lamar pulls Spider-Man back into the Subway after that whole scene Also it was pointed out to me that Harry was wearing a green tie at the wedding which was neat, and I guess explains why the ending sequence was in the order it was and not the sequence everyone on earth I've spoken to or read on this board thinks it should have gone.

Apparently CFMT here in Ontario shows NewsRadio at 11pm at night... or was this week, anyway. Last week it was something else entirely different.

Mortal Kombat Annhilation. Big fan of the 1st film, was looking forward to this movie since the day I saw the original, and MAN did it suck. Also, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
