There is a Developer Diary over on GameStop with an entry today about the insane booking of trying to get 40+ guys into recording sessions for the game's voice overs. Here is the last page where he goes over his 10 highlights:
-
"Benjamin won the title with his exploder into a powerslam pinning combination. The bad sign is the crowd is pretty dead. Work wise, this was a good match" Observer coverage. Sucks to hear about the crowd. Edit: Beaten.

Sounds good so far. Damn Famous Players not having the rights to the extra PPVs and Cineplex in my area not showing it!
-
200,000 + 175,00 = 375,000 PPV buys in October, and that's what WWE will say and be concerned about.

Hmm... now that I've actually watched the videos, I see that they've just made thier own knock-off music for the Legends. Well, it's better than nothing. For non Jimmy Hart themes like Bret's, Taker's, and Kane's, I wonder if they'll use the real deal or make a knock off.
-
And of course, now that entrance music is in for Legends, Mr. DiBiase is nowhere to be found. Oh well, Bret, LOD, Snuka, and Beefcake all have good themes (Beefcake's is very generic, but I like it).

You've got to respect the Cats. They've got more fur than any turtle ever had. My sources tell me that Speedy Servichi is a heck of a fighter who makes a heck of a lunch.

Sorta on topic but mostly way off, are there any SF Plot FAQs as good as Gavok's MK one? I see two on GameFAQs (one is only 57k). Looking a bit further, it seems Tiamat's format for the Plot FAQ follows Gavok's format almost exactly, so I'll probably read it later. About a Fatality archive, when I did a google image search (which I feared would be an awful, awful idea with the word 'fatality', but the MK keeped other stuff away) there was a URL that one would think had just that... but it was Forbidden. Then I came across this http://mkw.mortalkombatonline.com/ (and something tells me it's been mentioned before) it has a Fatality theatre for MK1, 2, 4, Gold, and DA.

Times I've beaten MKII on MAT2: 0 Times I've tried: lots Times I've beaten MK3: 2 Times I've tried*: 2 I haven't tried the "2nd player has a less difficult CPU opponent" tactic yet for MK2, though. I also find I can bypass Motaro fairly easily (whereas I have never even fought Kintaro yet!) by picking Sheeva (if I lose with my current kombatant) and stomping on him repeatedly. Cheap? Yes. Effective? You bet. I did that to beat Shao Kahn too, so now that I've beaten it as Sheeva I just throw the fight against Kahn and keep picking people until I win that fight. *For the purposes of this message, "tried" is defined as the amount of times I sat down to play the game with the intent of playing it through to an ending before hitting my mattress really hard (no damage to me or my property, but it fufills the violent act of needing to hit something) and deciding to shut the PS2 off / play something else, not the amount of times I actually had to kontinue (a lot).

Gavok updated his MK Plot FAQ yesterday.

Someone told me a lot of fatalities for MKT were incomplete and just had the sceen fade to black. On the topic of Sub-Zero's spine-rip, anyone find it weird that they gave it to Scorpion in MKD? I think one of my personal favourite fatalities is Smoke's destruction of Earth from MK3. Sure, it's absolutely insane (perhaps even stupid), but it's the surrealness of it combined with its destructive natrue that I love.

Tag title storylines result in handicap matches that I can't stand. If you can break submissions this year, I imagine I'll hate regular tag matches too (I hate them in Day of Reckoning.. which I've now grown to hate.. thanks iron man match with Triple H!).

When I was playing MK:D last week, I felt the urge to re-read the Gamespot "History of" piece. Today, I found this on GameFAQs, and so far it's pretty interesting http://db.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/...kombat_plot.txt Edit: Gah, no direct linking allowed! Anyway, just click on any MK game for any system on GameFAQs and you'll see Gavok's plot guide.

It would seem that way, since other blue costumes (like Sub Zero) were actually red for the filming. I also found it a bit odd that the MK3 piece showed them filming Kitana. Perhaps it's common knowledge (or even common sense) that UMK3 was planned from day one, but I didn't realize that until I watched that making of MK3 videos yesterday.

Covering the Survivor Series press conference
DrVenkman PhD replied to The Tino Standard's topic in The WWE Folder
Just remember to avoid the terms "face" and "heel". Flair dislikes that. -
Yeah, it wasn't a poster being blurred, it was the stand-up. Maybe it had a product name on it? I just find it odd that what appears to be a MK logo or something along those lines is blurred out while a Nintendo Killer Instinct machine is clearly visible.
-
Anyone know why the Mortal Kombat poster in the MK3 video on MAT2 (since, evidentally, this is the MAT2 discussion thread as well as MK:D thread) is blurred? I also found out I'm really, really bad against the computer in MK2 in an arcade perfect translation (I remember being a passable player back on the SNES). It's pretty neat to see the arcade versions fully reproduced as far as getting an ad for the MK Movie at the MK3 game over screen and the high score (win streak) list containing old Midway arcade licences (WWF!)

Family Guy primed for a 2005 return
DrVenkman PhD replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
God damnit I thought I was supposed to be watching these in January 2005. March.. or even, gasp, MAY is just too damn long! -
S_D keeps saying on IRC that Edge said somewhere that Val needs to get the neck surgery there whenever the subject of his lack of TV time is mentioned. I assumed Kane's attack on him was a storyline reason (though really, was one needed with Val Venis?) to get him off TV and to his surgery.

Batista might be a space issue, where the figure they can get away with just using the Evolution theme. Keep in mind as well that if Batista used his own theme, no one would use the Evolution music at all in the game. That's just a guess... maybe it is an issue (it could be production music). Over on GamingRing, Mike Regan said he got an e-mail from THQ asking for input from the people. Feel free to give some if you wish http://www.gamingring.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...t=000220#000000

Going around online stores once again... Yeah, everyone says November 2nd. "Bonus Offer! - Preorder WWE Smackdown vs Raw and receive a Andre The Giant WWE Smackdown vs Raw Action Figure FREE! Re-enact all of Anrde's greatest wrestling moments with this high quality action figure." - Gamestop. So the game is coming out 2 weeks earlier than I thought, which is cool... except apparently (as I just learned surfing the stores), San Andreas got pushed back a week to the 25th (I had been reading 18th forever), meaning those 2 games come out in the same week. I guess it doesn't matter since I planned on using older games for the first time ever to pay towards SDvsRaw. Does anyone know what games EB doesn't allow in their "3 Games for 1" trade deal? I'm suspecting almost anything that has become a greatest hit ir is older than a year does not count. I was going to get rid of Just Bring It (which will allow me to finally clear that 4MB save without feeling bad about maybe wanting to play as CAW Hurricane vs. Jerry Lynn in the future), WMXIX and Day of Reckoning. DoR is fairly recent and I hope it puts off at least $25 on the purchase.

"pushing the B BUTTON causes you to deliver a bodyslam (unless you're the Ultimate Warrior, in which case the move is a power throw)". From the WWF WreslteMania challenge book, I find that funnier than it has any right to be. Courtesy: Vimm's Lair
