The GBC version of WWF Attitude had a pretty funny bio of The Godfather as they were trying to keep his character description suitable for all ages. Sadly, all I remember is his finisher being called "The Drop".

No Mercy PPV.. Looks Good/Bad?.. Discuss It Here.
DrVenkman PhD replied to natey2k4's topic in The WWE Folder
I didn't know if this deserved a new thread (it would if it was announced the same day as October Jukebox matches, like Unforgiven's extras were) so I'll just post this here. These are the WWE.com Webcast Bonus Matches for No Mercy: -
"William Regal is coming down with Flair-itis. Even though he's a babyface, he's uncomfortable and wants to work heel" Damnit damnit damnit. That promo he did on Heat seemed very heel turnish in nature (something like "Of course Eugene will win. Why wouldn't he, he has me in his corner!" with a devlish grin) and I hoped they would not go that route.
-
Legend news... sorta. Again, from GamingRing.com...
-
God damnit, that Regal promo was pure "I'm turning heel" in execution. Good thing no one watches this show so they don't need to stick to it.
-
Here's a blurb from GamingRing.com (where they have an 80% build and are posting videos) about the Challenges

In the Saturday site update on WO, Meltz says the schedule that was released was more or less a prototype and they are still months away from fully launching this (my interpretation, anyway). On another note, I shelled out money for Jukebox today ($4? Why not) and am quite happy with it so far. Apparently they'll be billing me $4 every month until I tell them to stop, but like I said, it's only $4 for 20 matches of varying length and quality.

If you own a WWF DVD, you own an OOP DVD. By that logic, I have a lot. Any WM that was released on DVD I have, and I also was of the understanding the Hogan DVD was somewhat rare due to it coming out aorudn the same time Hogan left the company (for this first time in this eras run) and I believe it's also one of the last DVDs that were allowed to be released without muting references to the WWF or blurring scratch logos.

Kinda resembles GTA artwork more than old Rumble posters (which it was cool when 2001 revisited that), but I see the connection. Pretty neat, although I thought Edge was Ultimate Warrior for a second.

Surfing through WWE.com, I noticed they already had a schedule for the month of October up. I wasn't even aware a TV deal was finalized, but it says "Demand it from your cable operator now". It sounds pretty interesting, too. Program Descriptions: WWE Hall of Fame An original monthly series hosted by Gene Okerlund celebrating the remarkable career of a featured Hall of Fame inductee. The comprehensive journey highlights the classic shows, matches, and moments that made a legend of that month's Hall of Famer. Monday Night War WWE 24/7 relives the week-by-week WAR waged between Turner and WWE, with exclusive retrospective commentary and insight interspersed among Raw and Nitro's best battles – a back-story to wrestling's backbone. Each episode presents Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro in their entirety, with compelling insight by host Michael Cole. Extreme Championship Wrestling WWE Superstar and insider Tazz hosts a new documentary-style history of ECW, tracking the exciting evolution of ECW's mission to bring "Hardcore" back to the ring. Prime Time Every fan's dream-come-true, classic WWE shows originally airing during primetime hours are presented in their entirety. Requested through WWE fan mail and email, the series begins with the origin of Tuesday Night Titans, hosted by Vince McMahon, along with Primetime Wrestling, hosted by the legendary Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. Old School Old School steps back into yesteryear with a nostalgic look at huge classic wrestling events from historic venues, including Boston Garden and Madison Square Garden. Buried Treasures Fans will feel like they've found a gold mine with special, rarely-seen programming from the depths of WWE's collection. Word-of-mouth is high on these weekly gems. The Big Ones Classic Pay-Per-View events from WWE, NWA, WCW, ECW and AWA are shown in their first major encore airing. These events highlight our biggest stars, bar none. Specials WWE 24/7 spotlights the very best of the WWE's narrative, retrospective and thematic programming originally and exclusively created for network or video release. The action starts with shows including Undertaker: He Buries Them Alive and WrestleMania's Greatest Matches. This all sounds pretty neat, especially the Monday Night Wars episodes.

Nice little write up from PWInsider...

PRetty cool that ring intros are back in the game, done by Lillian or Chimmel depending which show it is (nice touch). Wonder if Fink does it for PPV. Anyway, GamingRing.com is doing daily updates of the game now, here's a few pics (they're not that interesting.. just match-up screens. There is one neat one at the end though). Edit: I believe he takes pictures with a webcam, so that's why they look the way they do. Oh, here's one that shows the CAW Match Screen pose in action. CAW Match-up screen

This was quite the upsetting way to wake up this morning, and although it's just adding the same comment said 100 times, I didn't really see it coming. Bossman was always really good to the kids and charities, so this is a true loss. I've always felt the WM7 match against Mr. Perfect is an underrated one and when I started watching Wrestling in 1991, Big Bossman was one of my favourites (love the high spinkick and the uppercuts).

From the Hear prior to Backlash 2003, Benjamin and Haas are explaining the powers of Kurt's portrait to Josh Mathews: Haas: He knows when we're sleeping. He knows when we're awake. Josh: Oh, let me guess... he knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake? Benjamin: No stupid, that's Santa Claus. Kurt's more intelligent than Santa anyway.

So who won? London or Booker? I thought someone said Booker won by cheating and using the ropes, but the last report (and the report on Observer) says London wins.
-
I don't quite agree with Meltzer's comment that Flair would be a "joke challenger".
-
Also Classic: That thread where everyone talks about videa game characters like they're wrestlers.
-
I nominate that thread where people thought Vader died.
-
For some odd reason Meltzer said in his Friday update that copies from Wal-Mart are fine. I e-mailed him to say that this very board says otherwise.
-
Perhaps it is Chuck Austin, the man who got several millions from WWE after Marty injured him. Also, the tag team of Sternum and Rear gave me a chuckle.

I'm not very familiar with 3rd Strike.. is the last boss some sort of rib? One time, I had him beat, so he leaped into the air and killed me with rainbow beams. Another time, he resurected himself in the first round, which was ok. But then, in the final round (of another fight), I thought I finally beat him by taking him out with a Super... but no, he said "Resurection!" and came back to beat me again. ARGH!

When I made my trip to the USA today, I asked Best Buy if they knew anything about the recall since there was still a copy sitting on the shelf. I was hoping it was because it was a corrected DVD that came out really fast, but the employee I asked thanked me for bringing the DVD to his attention so he could remove it from the shelf as it was not allowed to be there.
-
Deon, status report of the audio on YOUR copy, please?
-
Fraud is fraud and it osunds like WWE was within their rights to fire Noble (assuming Keller is accurate).
-
The audio problem is that there is no audio.
