According to PWTorch (and some reviewer on Amazon.com as well), the Summerslam DVD that was released yesterday is being pulled from stores due to an audio problem during the main event. It's also apparently the first DVD to be produced in Mexico.

Damn that Day of Reckoning game and it's Ministry of Darkness storyline.
-
I read that there were rumours that David Yost and Amy Jo were going to make appearances on Dino Thunder. Interesting if true.

RVD vs Benoit won and is up for viewing. http://spotlight.wwe.com/summerslam/index.html -
This is just like the good ol days of watching AAA Saturday afternoons in the 90s. I like that neat CMLL set.

I never got cage matches in WCW with Hogan in them. At Uncensored 98, Hogan and Macho Man just WALK OUT THE DOOR and continue fighting outside, then go back to the ring before it all ends in a no contest. Hogan did the same thing with Sting at a house show I went to. If they were going to book them like that, why bother?

Roster Update for WWE Day of Reckoning
DrVenkman PhD replied to DangerousDamon's topic in Video Games
I too became too used to HCTP which is causing me to have difficulty with defending strike moves and running away like a coward. The range on a lot of moves is longer than HCTP and I'm not used to holding the run button down. -
Undertaker is sitting in the locker room with his cast, reflecting on the hell Brock Lesnar has put him through by draggin skeletons out his closet... Kane: So, how was your week?

Roster Update for WWE Day of Reckoning

Gotta love and/or hate the fact that they kept Lance's dancing gimmick in. -
I bought the game today for absolutely no reason. I went to EB with the intent to buy Day of Reckoning, which I did, but evidentally I'm some sort of mark for Capcom Anniversary Collection games, since I picked it right up off the shelf and bought it as well. That's what happens when you work extra hours and assume you have money to spend, I guess. I think the actual closer on the deal was the "INCLUDED SFII ANIMATED MOVIE!" notice, but I have no idea why. I have the 'unrated' one on VHS from 1995, I figured this would be the (more) cut one, and after watching the Mega Man episode on the Collection and seeing all the compression they had to use, knew I wouldn't be getting anything of great quality... but what the hell, I guess. I've been too occupied watching the last volume of Futurama on DVD (Props to Maurice LeMarche for going into his Egon Spengler and Brain characters in the commentaries, albiet briefly) to play it much, but I imagine it will just be a game I bring to people's house to play for a bit.

Roster Update for WWE Day of Reckoning

I picked it up earlier today, but since the same mall trip resulted in buying Futurama Volume 4 on DVD, I haven't had a chance to play it yet. I also discovered that that I'm a total mark for the words "Anniversary Collection" on a Capcom game, because I made no hesitation in picking up that Strret Fighter game despite the fact I had no previous interest in it. -
There's some pretty funny material from the Global Warming DVD from Tazz and Cole, who seemed to go into a studio and record the show in one take as if it was live, but since it wasn't a PPV, have fun with it. Sadly I can't remember anything off hand.
-
Instead of saying "LIVE" under the WMXI logo, it says "Encore Plus". Roddy Piper also hosts it and pops in at points in the tape to say something.

"Hogan is an American Hero because Vince McMahon told him he was one. If Vince McMahon had todl Hulk Hogan he was a zookeeper, well, he would have been a freakin zookeeper" - Kurt Angle prior to his KOTR 2002 match with Hogan (I just finished disc 1 of Futurama Volume 4, which contained an episode with a character named The Zookeeper)

Rock: 2+2 = Thomas Jefferson, sucka. -- Rock: The WWE Title is bigger than the People's Elbow... it's bigger than the Spinaroonie (*Booker T does a double take*).. and it's bigger than the... what, what do you do? You have a finishing move? Goldust: I have more ammunition in my cannon... Rock: Nobody wants to hear about your cannon! Stop touching yourself! (not entirely accurate, but you get the idea) -- Tony: What are we going to do tonight Brain? Brain: The same thing we do everynight Tony.. TRY AND TAKE OVER THE WORLD (Note: This quote is false... I just liked seeing Hennan refered to simply as "Brain" above) -- Booker: Yo, Japanese people, what's up wit yo nasty hair? Take it from me, Booker T, the five time WCW champion, that just because you know Kung-Fu doesn't mean you know Sham-poo. (Torrie explains that Tajiri is offended by this, saying his hair isn't very good either. Booker demands Tajiri to speak up about it) Tajiri: (Japanese accent) Buckwheat on crack.

WWE.com's September Jukebox Offerings
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I've heard good things about the match, and I wasn't trying to bash the match (although my wording makes it seem like I was). What I was trying to point out was... 1. "Kevin Nash" and "Championship Prestige" are not often seen in a sentence together. 2. Booker T, especially by WWE (the ones advertising this match now) standards, was hardly Nash's toughest challenge to date. That's all I meant. The "making things souond more exciting" comment was in regards to the scaffold match. -

Yeah, I just kinda posted these without reading all the little blurbs... like, what the hell? I'm pretty sure EVERYTHING is better than a scaffold match, and I would think Torrie Wilson would actually make a scaffold match worse. "By September 2000, Kevin Nash was successfully putting prestige back into the WCW Championship. At Fall Brawl, however, he was up against his greatest challenge - a Steel Cage Match against former WCW Champion Booker T. " God bless the person WWE hires to write this, because they things sound 100x better / interesting than they should be. -

I could with the WWF, but I'm not quite up for it right now. I recommend checking out http://www.100megsfree4.com/wiawrestling/wiamain.htm if you want a list of results and title changes, though.

Basically, CHV Mania's run 3 hours in SP. The WWE Home Video "Collection" series (1-13) run anywhere from 2:20 (WM1, I think) to 3:55 (WM V) without match clipping. The sacrafice to having 13 tapes in one box not cost $40 per tape is that, as mentioned, they are in SLP (or EP, depending how your VCR classifies it) and the quality suffers. For trivial purposes, I had the times of WM 1-10 written down, but that paper is long gone. Once you get to 8, it stays under 3 hours and is the same as the CHV tape.

From Vengeance 2002, in Detroit "A teenage Edge saved up his money so he could go to WrestleMania 3 and watch Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior... I want to correct myself, that was WrestleMania 6. WrestleMania 3 of course was right here in Chicago" - Jim Ross on commentary during Hogan/Edge vs. Christian/Storm. Edit: Put JR's name in.

Roster Update for WWE Day of Reckoning
DrVenkman PhD replied to DangerousDamon's topic in Video Games
My only concern with story mode is whether or not their is any story branching for replayability. From the few videos I watched, it seemed it went in a line with Chapters, which made me assume you reach a certain chapter and that's it. Over. Done.
