Wonder if we'll get LHW, Euro, HC, or WCW belts. The official company line for the Hardcore title lineage would be interesting compared to, say, WIA's list that uses every house show title change.

Girlfriends so die, as far as I know. Once I got to 100% with Denise I wanted her to stop bothering me so I stabbed her during a date. I was told that due to the abuse, the date was over, but I continued until I was told "Your Girlfriend is Dead". The car that you're allowed to use for getting to 100% disappeared from her driveway. I want to date the girl who let's you keep your weapons after death. That sounds very convenient.

I'm actually finding the first Jizzy mission more difficult the more I play... it seems easy enough, but something always screws me up in the end. The first time, my car flipped over after I blew up the limo. The second time, I missed an alley turn in Chinatown and the preacher got away. The 3rd time I chased him all the way to the country but I hit something, spun out, and ended up falling into the Ocean. It bothers me because it all seems like such a basic mission but I keep failing, and since the 3rd try (actually 4th - the 2nd try I didn't know where I was going when I was going to rescue a hooker and ended up driving into a water hazard on a golf course) was a driving marathon, I didn't feel like trying again. Maybe later. Question: How many more missions until I'm in Los Venturas?

How Many People Here Actually Have Dreams..
DrVenkman PhD replied to natey2k4's topic in The WWE Folder
I've asked my friend from the Can-Am school about this a few times. I've often wondered what the goal of a wrestler is - to have the best matches they can, or to make it big financially. His response was that, while ideally, a wrestler would love a world where they could have celebrity status and do the kind of match they wanted to, most would just love a big guaranteed contract from WWE. In the end, it's a job, and you work to make money. That was his take, anyway. He went on to say that naturally someone like him or Petey Williams generally don't expect employement from WWE anyway so their goal is just to have good matches while making good money on the indy scene, hoping TNA takes off as an alternative. This has almost nothing to do with the question asked, but I thought I'd share that. Myself, I've always wanted to wrestle since I was a kid in 1991, and in fact my friends and I used to wrestle on mattresses in the attic back then. We were really stupid kids and I'm frankly surprised we're all ok when I look back at the way we did things (being kids, we naturally assumed to do a DDT, we had to grab the guys head and crash it down without any protection). I've thought about going to the school with my friend but I have a fear of failure and anytime I've tried practicing lock-ups with him I've punched him in the face and given up. He assures me that's natural for beginners, but still, fear of failure and all that. -
Dream Matches in the WWE (or wrestling in general)
DrVenkman PhD replied to zyn081's topic in The WWE Folder
If Angle/Taker is still the intention, title or not, for WM21 with Angle/HBK being something that was only hinted at with no intention of going there (though they should), I believe it would be a wise move to build to a HBK/Rock match. It gives both something to do that has never happened and probably even creates more interest than Orton vs HHH or JBL vs Cena for the belts would. -
Dream Matches in the WWE (or wrestling in general)

I'm interested in what kind of match RVD vs Rey would produce, but that's more of a "this could be good" than a "dream match" that would make money. -
Dream Matches in the WWE (or wrestling in general)
DrVenkman PhD replied to zyn081's topic in The WWE Folder
Taker and Angle have had a few one on one matches - one of them was even the angle to do a triple threat match at Vengeance in 2002 (Angle caused Taker to tap out while he was being pinned). Batista and Kane had a very bad match at Armageddon 2002 Also, I had a dream last night that the Bashams came to Raw to challenge La Resistance for the tag belts (?), so I guess that's techniclly a dream match. -
It only occured to me afterwards that all but 2 of these matches take place in January. If you read, you'll see that January is not the gimmick - it's Most Requested Matches (allegedly - usually I let WWE slide on those claims.. but who has been requesting Warrior vs Slaughter?) Minus those two matches, this is the first time since August they've had all the matches be from the month in question. Usually it's the Webcasts that have the Monthly/PPV themes extra matches. NYR, for example, offers a bunch of matches from January (almost all WCW!), but it has one match from September (Pillman vs Lyger from the debut Nitro).

As of this writing, they aren't actually up (or at least I don't believe so - I tested a few and was met with a re-direct to WWE.com's main page or being asked for money, despite my subscription being up to date)

Annoying "Smark" critisisms that can be explained
DrVenkman PhD replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
I don't think anyone has ever said anything (that I'm aware of) about Mick FOley's apparent cybernetic eye camera implants that were able to film Christian faking his illness at Fully Loaded 2000 when Foley stood on something and peered into the stall from above. -
I noticed a weird joke in the Czech version of the 100th episode... the line about everyone thinking Bart had a walking clock under the box turned into "Dr. Spock". However, Dr. Spock and Star Trek were the only htings I understood, so I wonder what Bart's set-up to that was... unless the children thought Leonard Nimoy had ticks.
-
I found it somewhat eerie that on "Bart Gets Famous", Conan's commentary is talking about how he didn't hope his appearance on the show would be one of those ironic things that seemed good at the time but becomes sad [due to cancellation] when it was finally watched. The thing was, he was making this comment right around the time Bumblebee Man was readind a news report about a tidal wave death toll, played for laughs.

I like the totally needless knock on WCW, too. Well, maybe it was needed, but still, it seems like just another case of shooting the corpse. "The flamboyant Lenny Lane defeated Rey Mysterio for the Cruiserweight Championship in Lubbock, TX, in August 1999. The victory appeared to be just what Lane needed to boost his career into overdrive. But then out of nowhere, WCW stripped Lane of the Cruiserweight Championship without ever giving an explanation. In an equally baffling move, WCW then gave the title to Psicosis - again, without offering explanation"

CW title history is up does indeed date back to 1991. I don't think they are finished as it does not have a link on the main Title Histories page hub, only a link on "Inside WWE" with the headline "Did you know that Madusa once held the Cruiserweight Championship while in WCW?". In regards to the "unifcation" of the CW/LHW titles: "Billy Kidman came into the July 30 edition of RAW as the WCW Cruiserweight Champion and X-Pac came in as the WWE Light Heavyweight Champion. The two met in a unification match. The action was fast and furious as one would expect from these two Superstars, but in the end, X-Pac was able to pick up the pin and unify the belts to become the Cruiserweight Champion. The rivalry between the two Superstars would not end here, though, as they would continue to fight each other over the next couple of months." Then it just has Billy Kidman winning it back in October and continues the lineage from there.

A few yeas ago in Canada, the Government had an ad campaign for the 12 Days of Giving. It was a farce that was rightly ridiculed and I may even be breaking Canadian law for acknowledging it happened. Also, note my crazy sig!

Figure this one out... I got Simpsons Season 5 in the mail today, and that shiupped on Sunday with standard shipping. Seinfeld - my Christmas present - still remains undelivered, and was shipped 6 days ago with upgraded shipping since the first shipment from November was lost. I did get $10 credit from Amazon out of the whole deal, which made the price of Season 5 low enough I was able to classify that as an additional gift. Of course, this means it has to sit under the tree for a few days, but it's cool.

It was pretty cool that this year we got a new episode in December. It was pretty good, too. Interesting to see J-Rocc as plain ol Jamie.

The game was rushed out and is unfinished. That said, I quite enjoyed the time I spent with it when I rented it last month. It was actually pretty annoying as the game wasn't on the shelf, so I picked up an Inuyashs RPG I wasn't even aware was made and Rumble Roses... then saw the game behind the desk. I asked for it and said I would put one of the other games back, but the women at the desk, as store clerks do with weak minded individuals, convinced me I'd be a huge moron not to take advantgae of the price break I would get for renting 3 games at the same time. This sort of thing has never worked for me in the past and this time was no different. I probably played Inuyasha for 20 minutes, if that, in the time I had it since I was busy with the other 2 games plus work. I still don't think the game is a good "fighting" game, but it's getting close. While the other two games were most certainly "fan only", this game has a fun engine that is easy to pick up as a regular fighting game, but the downside is anyone who isn't really a fan, and even those that are, might not like the idea of those Dragon Rush battles which are 30 seconds of animation for 1 button push.

Well [name deleted] is talking about it on his blog, so you KNOW it has to be true now.

"That mute asshole" Oh Carl Johnson, your mockery of other characters amuses me.

Sinbad. Not the comedian, he's hilarious, but the sailor. But then I guess he was never meant to be funny.

EA's UbiSoft buy considered "hostile"

Quick Question #2: What ever happened to EA's foray into the fighting game scene (Marvel vs EA)? -
EA's UbiSoft buy considered "hostile"
DrVenkman PhD replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Video Games
Not necessarily, but EA is being slightly (possible understatement) monopolistic lately which tends to make people angry. Quick question: Does EA still have any stake in Square, or did that whole deal go away when we got Squenix? -
That happened to me once a few years ago with a PS1 memory card (on a PS2) when trying to load whatever Final Fantasy it is that came with the Crono Trigger. Somehow every save for it got corrupted, not sure how. Nothing like that has happened with me on PS2. Did you have any cheats? Also, I got through F,ML fairly easily... I guess the key is to not try. Trying leads to failure, while driving along at a decent pace and not bothering with shortcuts was an easy victory.
