  1. "After winning the European Championship in a joke of a match against Shawn Michaels, Triple H lost the championship in an equally joking fashion. Dressed as Goldust, Triple H took on Owen Hart. Hart was able to secure the victory. Afterwards, Commissioner Slaughter ruled that the European Championship would change hands as a result of the match's decision." Does WWE have this backwards? I seem to recall Goldust dressing as HHH and Slaughter saying it counted as a title match... the way WWE.com has it makes no sense.
  2. "The championship didn't make an appearance in the United States, however, until after Shawn Michaels defeated the British Bulldog in Birmingham, England at One Night Only. After Michaels won the title, the European Championship began being defended on U.S. soil, as well" Oh snap, this whole time I thought Bret reunited with Owen in one of the greatest moments in Raw history when he interupted a European title match, on Raw, in the USA, between Bulldog and Owen in March 1997, but WWE.com says the title was never defended until Michaels won it! It sucks to find out one of your favourite moments in televised wrestling never happened. Ken Shamrock and his quest for the title must have been a figment of my imagination too.
  3. Benoit's LHW title reign in Japan get's no sold! The disregard of the pre-1997 lineage from Japan is not in any way surprising, though. One thing I don't get is for Dean Malenko's 2nd reign, it says he lost a few weeks later to Crash Holly. Since when is 11 months "a few weeks"?
  4. That would be cool if Batista is still big when SummerSlam rolls around. When I went to Raw at the MCI Center in July he was getting big time cheered for being the local guy. Also good to see Survivor Series will be in my area.
  5. Unless I'm mistaken, Mr. Whale had an embarassingly awful interview with Edge last year where he thought he was going to be talking to a member of the band U2, then proceeded to ask stupid questions. Big loss.
  6. I just noticed this today, but it makes sense, at least to me anyway. A lot of times things would be posted in General Wrestling that seemed to fit better in Old School and vice versa... having them one in the same helps.
  7. Anyone else catch Cole calling it a "30 person" Rumble instead of 30 man on SmackDown? Hope that doesn't mean anything.
  8. I once accused Mr. Dean of stealing a fancy kick he did at a house show from Nova, but my comment went unnoticed by all.
  9. I don't know about you guys but I am pumped for more evil monkey storylines.
  10. McFarlane voiced the important characters and he is most certainly back. Meg already changed voices once and that's not really an issue. Hopefully Seth Green and David Putty (Patrick Warburton or whatever) are back as Chris and Joe. I'm glad to hear that it's confirmed for Sunday (for now). Fox seems to have nothing permenant to put on between 9 and 10, so giving Family Guy the old MWC slot would certainly be great.
  11. Someone mailed me a tape with a Coliseum Video tape called World Tour 96 on it. He tacked it on as a joke as the tape's main content was GAB 89 and Spring Stampede 99. It was the 1996 Kuwaiti cup or some such and was very awful. Bret vs Austin was one of the matches, and it was awful too, noteworthy only for Austin tapping out in the sharpshooter. World Tour 96- Time 1:00 VQ- MASTER Ahmed Johnson & Yokozuna vs The New & Improved Rockers Bret "Hitman" Hart vs "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Duke "The Dumpster" Droese vs The British Bulldog Ahmed Johnson vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley Ahmed Johnson vs Owen Hart (Kuwaiti Cup Finals 96)
  12. EGM's review for SvR said it was better than Velocity vs Heat! How did they manage to play a complete version of the game to know it was inferior?!
  13. Woohoo! London gets on PPV. I guess we'll get to see him eliminated viciously.. wouldn't it be cool for London and Akio to start the Rumble? I know... no one but people who like good wrestling will care. That wasn't a qualifying match. It was billed as one prior to the event, but yeah, no online reports show any evidence of it being billed as such at the show itself. "Royal Rumble Qualifying Match Paul London vs. Rene Dupree"
  14. JR has been calling Benjamin's splash as such for a few weeks now on Raw. Glad I bothered to check the WWE.com Velocity preview tonight, because that was a damn good match. Liked the handshake.
  15. If you can find it online (I got it off Kazaa), check out the UK "Best of Borat". The segment where he riles about some hunting protestors was hilarious.
  16. Anyone know who the Mystery Superstar shot glasses are? Not that it matters. Also, what does a Griffin have to do with Shelton Benjamin?
  17. In fairness, they were company employees during WWE's version of the nWo angle. Now, had WWF.com been on the back of the wCw shirts, that would just be silly.
  18. Not this really means anything (since we had no election for WWF President), but I think a press conference or stock holders meeting, Vince or Linda mentioned WrestleMania as the only PPV where fans could see interpromotional matches
  19. Can't even do a thread about how good a Jericho vs Benoit match will be in Canada without turning it into a "Benoit's getting screwed" thread.
  20. Of course, if you don't care about dying that one time, you can play around in the city to your heart's content when you start up again. It'll put you at the closest hospital, even if it's in an area you're not supposed to be in, in my experience. That happened for me with San Fierro but not Los Venturas. I don't think my wanted level went up from me going into another city because I was still in San Fierro doing a mission. I was right near Easter Basin.
  21. Anyone know what I did wrong here? I entered an area near the San Fierro airport while motorbiking around on a mission (I was supposed get a vehicle from the airport for Wuzi) when my wanted level went up 5 stars. Figuring I was screwed, I just played around and went towards the large boat where I had entered but a seemingly endless amount of people in blakc suits all ran down the boat's entrance ramp beofre I got there and shot me.
  22. Great American Bash
  23. I was thinking Rhyno's Gore has been pretty big for him and I don't recall anyone kicking out, but then I just read that Angle kicked out of TWO of them when he won the US Title from Rhyno. Rock may or may not have kicked out of a Gore as well. I don't think anyone has cleanly kicked out of Tajiri's Buzzsaw Kick (at least not in WWE... don't know about ECW).
  24. So did the old WCW website when it had title histories up. It's not THAT odd, if you ask me. WWE is claiming WCW never acknowleged it, and only now after the sale is it being recognized.
  25. I find it a bit interesting that after they went out of their way to refer to Austin as "Stone Cold" and only Stone Cold in the other title histories, he's back to Steve Austin in this one. Sure, it would look silly to say that Stone Cold lost to Jim Duggan in 27 seconds, but it's also silly to say Warrior beat Hollywood Hogan for the WWE title.
