  2. Well, with Ghostbusters and EDII out of the game, may the best film win, as the two I really wanted to make it far lost in the opener. Funny to see what is universally regarded as Smith's worst movie beat out a movie that, until the 2 sequels in 2003 ruined it for everyone, was thought to be a superb sci-fi film. Side note: Perhaps seperate results threads so people can discuss / bitch and complain about the results without bumping an old round up?
  3. I believe there are 29 episodes.. and I think one is a clip show. Your main plot difference in V, IIRC, is that the main heroes (except Guile) are all teenagers. It's not as good as the SFII animated movie, but much better than the story re-telling in the live action film.
  4. In fairness, there was a nominations thread, and these movies weren't just randomly thrown onto a list to be voted on. So, Lawrence of Arabia received zero votes, it's your fault for it not at least getting one. And yeah, I think re-branding this thing "Favourite Movie" instead of Greatest Movie would be for the best, since the criteria that Askew is having us follow involves voting for the films you mark out for, not which one you think is technically superior.
  5. Don't really like doing this because it exposes how poor my taste in things is, and I'll just be picking movies I mark for. But shit, my nominations list, which was mostly but not entirely serious, was thought to be a joke ballot anyway, so the cover is blown... A Nightmare on Elm Street The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Braveheart Psycho (1960) The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Predator (see what I mean?) Ghostbusters Rocky The Godfather Part II Back to the Future X2: X-Men United Dogma Chasing Amy Scarface The Shawshank Redemption Mallrats Fight Club Kill Bill Vol. 2 Seven Samurai Full Metal Jacket The Evil Dead Office Space Army of Darkness Taxi Driver Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn Terminator 2: Judgment Day The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Kill Bill Vol. 1 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Forrest Gump Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope Clerks
  6. Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.... Sorry, that's the first thing that came to mind when I heard of this otherwise sad news.
  7. Almost Famous Eternal Sunshine
  8. And where does this leave Weekend Update? Just Tina? Tina and someone new? Someone new and no Tina? Two new people? I'd like Tina and Parnel, myself. Chris is great.
  9. Hopefully we'll still be able to get the Nick Burns movie. I always figured that character was perfect for a shitty SNL movie... it's a normal guy who's sketches are essentially the same thing with different people (Nick getting upset at people not understanding computers) that would be turned into 90 minutes of us learning about his depressing homelife outside the office.
  10. Holy shit it was Gumby for no reason and now they are talking about the WWE WrestleMania XX DVD set that was crazy haha!!! Thanks. Erm, good work, Hawk.
  11. I know some of you guys just want to make sure your stuff is always the first thing on the page, but, as someone who has never used it (and was told not to), I hate it. Sure, it's fine that the Judgment Day review is on top, that's one article, and I could plainly see underneath it that JHawk had posted his Raw recap. The problem is when you have one thing pinned, then another, then another. Did we really need Simpsons Season One to be the first article in the list for a week? When more than one article is pinned, I tend to think nothing new has been posted. Lazy? Yeah, but if I go to the site on, say, May 20th, and the first thing I see is dated May 16th, I'm going to automatically assume nothing new has been written and click on the Forums link. Example: We have a similar problem at work where memos are posted in a book out of date, and if the first memo is dated "May 10th", I'm not going to check behind it to see if any old memos have been retro-added.. that's just a waste of my time. That's just my opinion on the whole thing.
  12. So that's who Booker T woke up.... and Judgment Day is on Sunday!
  13. I guess it could be argued he was involved in the ladies 3 Way at WMXIX... but it does say "had a match".
  14. While I guess 38 months is technically "over a year". If Richards has had a PPV match that wasn't some hardcore run-in since WrestleMania 17, I don't remember it.
  15. All dissapointment that they didn't stick with the "GTA: Sin City" theme and stick the game in Vegas is now gone. Hooray for multiple cities in one game!
  16. Following the Miss SmartMarks Rules, Godfather should indeed by disqualified as it has already won one of these. OT, did the last Miss SM (III? IV?) ever finish? It seemed to fall apart somewhere without any update around round 3, then I never followed to see if it ended. Back on topic... No real order... 1. Ghostbusters 2. Robocop 3. Christmas Vacation 4. South Park: BLU 5/6: Kill Bill 7/8: LOTR TTT/ROTK 9. Iron Monkey (the one "Presented" by Quinten around 2001 or so). 10. Return of the Living Dead III 11/12/13: BTTF Trilogy 14/15/16: Star Wars Trilogy: Good Version. 17. Short Circuit 2 (guilty pleasure) 18. Forrest Gump 19. Star Trek: First Contact 20. Austin Powers 21. Nightmare on Elm Street 22. Spaceballs 23. Robin Hood: Men in Tights 24. Spider-Man 25/26: X-Men/X2. 27. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 28. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 29. Shrek 30. Aladdin Of course, all those classic movies everyone else already said 40 times as well.
  17. Best I could do (and I used GIS)
  18. I remember playing NHL 94 (I believe, coulda been 95) for the SNES back in the day. I was playing against my cousin, and he ran into my goalie while carrying the puck, getting himself a 2 minute interferance penalty... but because running into the goalie knocks you over, the puck became loose, and slid into the net. Despite the fact a penalty was called AGAINST him and play had STOPPED, the puck crossing the goal line caused the sirens to go off and give him a point. Stupid coding.
  19. MUGEN, eh? *googling in progress* Oh, "Mugen is a fighting game engine where you can create your own character I mean really creating them ... not just changing the character's clothes or colour ... but defining the attack, the sprite, etc." Understood.
  20. I would guess that's Booker's new gimmick. Kind of a play on "The Answer". He'd be an all-knowing voodoo guy. Like Rafiki. Tomko is the Problem Solver.
  21. I always liked the outdoor setting. It's new, big, and in Detroit. If they're thinking of going back to regular arenas instead of big stadiums for WM, it's time for The Joe to hold one. However, to save me the trouble of crossing the border... ... My Dream would be to just hold a Mania in Canada at historic Windsor Arena
  22. Takashi, eh? Wonder if that's anything like Takeshi.
  23. On Byte This, Bradshaw made clear his promo was not directed to wrestling fans, just the "1% or so of the fanbase that uses the internet in their little forums".
  24. Fair enough. As it is, no one told me anything about Sass until the other day. When Dames asked me to write back in April 03, he just mentioned himself, then later you. For the record, I really just didn't feel like writing while working full time and decided to take the "let's blame other people for morale problems" route. Sorry.
  25. They also released it here for the GBA last year with the American names (Megaman and Bass).
