Someone who I usually talk with on IRC is really, really pissed there is only 10 matches on 3 discs, saying he just assumed there would be 20 or so. I tried to explain the match lengths to him, but he wouldn't listen. I heard from SKeith Windham vs Flair is 50 minutes! Having only seen the Rumble and the 2 Steamboat matches, I'm really lookign forward to this set, especially (and I hate to be so Pro WWF when talking about a Flair DVD) if they show build up to the Rumble match. It sounds like it's going to be in the vein of the Michaels DVD, with full matches plus lots of neat clips of the build up to the match itself. I also have this feeling that one of the six easter eggs will be everyone's favourite "A Flair for the Gold" segment... (but probably not)

"Rodney Mack suffered a knee injury last night. He will have a knee injury tomorrow to find out the extent of the injury." Credit: 1w I would think in this day and age there are better ways to find out the extent of an injury by getting yourself reinjured one day later

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

If Old School Taker doesn't have his old theme, I don't even see the appeal. Also, the buzz around this thread has been "4 Costumes per wrestler", but the FAQ certainly makes it seem like th enumber is from 1 to 3, like SYM. Is this only based on what's been seen so far? -
The One and Only SMACKDOWN! 10-09-03 Thread
DrVenkman PhD replied to BifEverchad's topic in The WWE Folder
As a Canadian, I hope this thread does awesome. However, due to work committments, I will be unable to contribute in anyway for the next 3 weeks, and after that I'm not sure if TheScore works very well on the TV near my computer (long story...). Best of luck though, Bif. -
In fairness, people do change thier opinions about wrestling as they get older. I was a big Hogan mark in 1993, for example. I just find it odd that his old RSPW posts are by "Scott Alan Keith". Seriously, how many people do you know with 3 first names making up their entire name? His parents had a good sense of humour.

Actually I think a few pages back is some story mode info from Gamespot.. I know I was reading their explanation of it now and it's from a story posted in August. -

I'm quite hyped for the game. It's too bad they didn't give Steiner the Screwdriver as a special like they did Raw 2 (from what I hear) and WM19, eliminating all need for me to ever control him. I find the total lack of info about story mode puzzling as well. IGN supposedly has a 90% or so build in front of them, do they not? If they're not going to say anything about it, at least tease us with a photo of text. Edit: Well I found this on EBGames, who in turn took it from Gamespot. Enjoy! -

A release date is for big money games that have big money ad campaigns and have the release date mentioned in the commercial (ex. Vice City last year kept saying the release date at the end of the commercials - I believe the 29th of October - and was shipped in advance to make sure it was out that day. SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth, though, was just "Coming Soon" in commercials (followed by "Now Available"). IT has no set release date and stores can sell it when ever it arrives to them. -

But.. this game doesn't have a release date. See, games like Vice City or Mario Sunshine or what have you have a specific release date, where the game will arrive at the store and sit in the back, and be on shelves when the store opens the release day morning. From what I can tell, HCTP falls into the "Shipping Date" catergory, where it's shipped on the 28th and can arrive at stores any day between that day and the 30th. The past 2 SD! titles have always arrived at the EB here in Windsor, Ont 2 days past the shipping date, and I expect nothing less this year. -

The game is scheduled to ship on the 28th so it should be available at my local EB here in Canada on the 30th, 31st at the latest (and for once I hope it IS a day late... the 31st is a pay day.. but I suppose if I go pre-order it I can pay for it now). However, I think we're a few days from THQ's annual "SmackDown is delayed 2 weeks" announcement. Hopefully we won't have one of those this year. -
The commercial that aired between the new episode and the encore episode seemingly hinted it was the last episode, but we'll see in a week, but some sort of "After the Show" show episode would be cool.

Well then you KNOW it's happening for sure...

I don't why I just noticed this now, but it seems they removed ring announcing and commentary. They could never get commentary quite right (although SYM was a big improvement over JBI), but I always was a fan of the ring intodructions. -
In my world, people listen to what the boss asks them to do.

I've determined Orton will actually win the title while HHH is away, beating Goldberg and accusing HHH of dropping the ball, setting up HHH vs Orton at Mania.
-
Oh shit I just figured it out... After Orton Legend Kills Flair and cuts an anti-HHH promo, he ends up winning the damn title by beating Goldberg. Meanwhile, HHH wins the RUmble, setting up Orton vs Trips for the title at Mania. Wow.
-
Disregarding Big Show, Steve Austin in 1997. Michaels would be the last heel to win it cleanly in 1995, though. Taking time off, to me, seems to be the time they'll bust out the New Evolution, with The Ort accusing Trips ofdropping the ball, kicking out Flair (Flair is a Legend, after all), and teaming up with Team Charisma, Maven, and possibly Batista.

The way this news should be good: Vince might realize people are not caring for him or Stephanie being in major angles or wrestling, and No Mercy will be the last big match for either of them in awhile (well, they'll probably still do Vince vs Taker.. but Stephanie stuff would be lessened). It also shows people aren't inerested in Undertaker main eventing. The way this news will be taken by Vince McMahon: Eddie Guerrero storylines shouldn't be show running, thus he should not ever main event. Brock Lesnar is a terrible champion, and Undertaker should go over at No Mercy. People don't like Cena, he shouldn't be in main events. A-Train didn't wrestle, so people tuned out. Edit: In my spin doctoring and defending of all things WWE, I've decided to blame this rating on the Baseball play-offs happening the same night as brand new episodes of Friends, Survivor, CSI, and whatever other popular garbage people watch on Thursday. No one is at fault!

Well, yesterday I noticed Rock stuff was under Edge stuff, but there was no entrance video. Sometimes I notice when I hit refresh or come back from watching one video, the whole list shuffles around, things get added or removed... I really don't understand how that page works at times. -

Someone on IRC told me that, in shock of shocks, IGN actually posted the Wrestler of the Day DURING THE DAY instead of waiting until almsot 7pm when I'm gone to work. I'll have to check and see if I can access it, or if, as usual, I'll get a media page telling me about Edge and Booker T. -
Eddie and Cena seem like good choices, although in a perfect world Benoit would be the guy to dethrone Lesnar at the Royal Rumble... the same night, Angle wins the Rumble, and we have our face vs. face ***** WMXX main event.
-
Good article. I never understood why Danny Davis went back to being knocked out in an instant after being able to wrestle.
-
I'm leaning towards the HHH stuff being in-character comments, or at the very least, comments me means but will get away with by saying they were in character.
