I seem to recall long ago, someone posted a picture of a topless check with at a beach that caused an uproar. Someone was all "she looks like she's only 16 if that!" and others were saying "who cares, check out that rack!" (it was quite great). Good times.

I think I'm going to merge this with the "Merry Xmas" thread in General Discussion, if only because that thread (and by the time you read this post, I mean "this thread") has become a "Post your gifts!" thread. I approve of that. Edit: I don't have thread merging power in that realm so I thought I would just move every post there, but you have to leave at least one. This is the one I left.

A 6th row floor seat for the Royal Rumble, seasons 1 and 2 of 30 Rock, Dark Knight, the Eddie Viva La Raza set, the Colbert "I Am America (And So Can You)" desk calendar, various gift cards ($30 for Subway~!, plus a combined $40 for Blockbuster from my aunt and cousin which I suspect will be payment for the Edge DVD and part of the Starrcade DVD), a scratch lottery gift pack, a tin of Kisses, and a bit of cash that was promptly lost at my mom and I's 2nd Annual Christmas at the Casino outing. I knew most of that was coming as I hand picked it (and in the case of the Rumble ticket, was the person that was online dealing with Ticketmaster's seemingly random ticket assignment when trying to get an advanced ticket) but it's still fun unwrapping things on Christmas.

Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and Super Mario RPG are pretty great. Probably not the answer you wanted, but it's where a lot of my Wii time goes.

Happy Birthday Jesus. Sorry your party is so lame. I'm at work until 8am and then go back again at midnight, but I got some good family time out of Christmas Eve before work, will be going out for a bit tomorrow, and there's a family dinner on boxing day, so hooray.

Was Dustin supposed to be imitating his dad? It was hilarious. Warrior sounded like he had a cold during his promo. And oh yeah, a SHANE DOUGLAS promo!

Does it star Sandra Oh and Don McKellar?

I believe he was promoting Pauly Shore is Dead at the time. That bit of that I watched seemed ok.

I read Striker already made a negative comment about it on ECW last week.

I believe so.

Good Lord, this 12/24/90 Prime Time is full of awesome nostalgia from my era of wrestling. A Mountie vignette, Ted DiBiase buying off The Fink as a set-up to Mr. Perfect getting the IC title back, Royal Rumble updates~! (Andre was supposed to be in it!), etc. Heenan and Monsoon are at it right out of the gate too ("Where do I stick this?" "I'd like to tell you where you can stick it..."). Fun stuff all around for me even if most of the matches are squashes. Then they hype their 2.5 hour New Year's Eve special which has Shawn vs. DiBiase and Jannetty vs. Martel. I wish that was on too

Goldberg vs. Flair (which I believe is from 8/11/03, a rematch of 8/04) is awesome for two reasons: 1. Lawler and Ross pimping SLAMBALL~! Season 2 on Spike TV. 2. It's a "Goldberg comes out of a supply closet" entrance.

I believe Paulie Shore was the guest when I attended along with some band I can't remember.

It's my understanding from the Grungy Punk fiasco that new members are supposed to be automatically flagged as larvae but aren't, meaning someone with admin powers has to notice it and assign them the "larvae mask".

I like the giant video screen the Niitro set has where I'm used to the "Star field" backdrop being. Was that a permanent thing or a temporary change? I don't remember it, but I very rarely saw Nitro by the time of this Goldberg/Booker match.

Oh, scratch that. I just saw trailers for it on CP24/CTV that it opens Dec 25th. So, we must be getting it up here at one of the bigger theatres! Hooray for having something to do on Xmas day!!! When I went to Toronto last weekend, someone on the train was reading a paper (that looked like The Sun) with a large ad for the film with all this award bragging, so I just naturally assumed it was playing somewhere in the city. I was sad that it was not. Anyhow, from today's F4W Newsletter: "[Vince] got his private screening of the movie this week. I don't know what he said to Aranofsky immediately after the film ended, or what he told him to his face, but apparently his private reaction was such that "the word negative isn't strong enough to describe Vince's reaction." One person noted, "No surprise because Vince's vision of the 2008 image of wrestling and even fading stars directly contradicts what The Wrestler accurately portrays." Others who know him knew going in that this was the kind of movie he was going to abhor."

Raw was good times. I try to avoid backstage gossip about who s lurking around backstage so I didn't know Trish was reported as being there, but I figured Cena's partner wouldn't be Kelly. For the first 90 minutes I thought it would be Gail's re-debut, but then I remembered "oh yeah, Trish might be visiting" and that was a pretty cool moment. Her facebook status indicates she's "still buzzing" and she was nice enough to thank people that wrote kind comments on her wall, so good stuff. I thought both Rey/JBL and Jericho/Punk were strong matches, especially the latter. I'm glad someone else caught the "LUGER!" chant (which I think was just one loud dude) during JBL's torture rack and the "Oh! Canada" during Jericho/Punk was awesome. I enjoyed the finishes of both matches though I see in some reports the HBK/JBL thing is getting some flack. Oh well, I thought it was smart. As for Toronto chanting "You Screwed Bret" at Shawn, I don't remember us Canadians getting on Shawn's case whenever the last taping was (this was 11 years ago) so I just assumed everyone chanting it had watched the Raw episode on 24/7 right now (it's from the night after Survivor Series). Just to clarify something - are the anti "Face Melina" posters saying they didn't agree with the face turn several months ago, or did they forget all about it?
-
No, nothing like that, I just find it odd when posters who dropped off the face of the earth in 2003 re-appear without a storyline to explain their absence.

I'm consulting Tom P. Baxter. As I see it TSM, the future of wrestling, well the future of this country in fact is... computers. I've been waiting 3 months and 1 week to finally make the Tobin's Spirit Guide reference and you make it all the better with a Tom P. Baxter namedrop. He doesn't own a computer but plans to get one.

And Jesus, what crypt did JoeDirt crawl out of? That's not a "why the WWE folder sucks" comment, this just seemed like the place to ask. Does he still have that avatar of a drawn man wearing sunglasses, possibly instructing me to watch and review old school matches?

I don't know what the easy solution to this is, but Vince has got to find more time to pay attention / hire people he trusts to pay attention for him. People are GETTING ON TV ('Double Double E' Kozlov, this guy, Fake Kane though that case is a bit different) only for Vince to determine far too late in the creative process that someone isn't ready / an idea is stupid. -
I was going to make the basic "someone leaking info from the office would have better knowledge of storylines than a wrestler being lied / placated to by management" argument but bob and HTQ already did, so good stuff.

Wow, Festus just turned 24 today. He looks much older. Meltz's daily update did mention that R-Truth was indeed sent home due to a criminal record.
