  1. It's possible he's epileptic and was playing a video game without reading the warnings at the front of the instruction book.
  2. JR's blog mentions that online voting has been reinstated for Cyber Sunday. This is news to me. My cable company is also listing the standard definition version of the PPV as being $34.99. I expect that to change.
  3. JR doesn't specify what he's talking about here, but the title of his blog entry has "Knoxville" in it and he's not mentioned anywhere else... Edit: Eh, his name DOES appear later on.
  4. Yes. I believe he didn't have a clue who anyone was which led to some problems, plus OVW was just a disaster once Cornette was gone.
  5. I was happy to receive everything by 10am this morning except Boggs/Perfect, but no loss there since I have it on DVD. Things are back on track!
  6. This is, by far, the funniest commentary track I have ever heard. "Rene Goulet going to sleep like many of the 36,000 fans in attendance".
  7. It's possible - I was basing it on the match order listed on wikipedia and the fact the show started with Jose Estrada vs. Angel Marvilla. The order I assumed is already wrong as the tag title match airs before Hogan/Andre. Random note: apparently if you preface it "The old", you can say "WWF" to your hearts content. Edit: Fixed. Indeed, Greg Gagne vs. Rick McGraw is the only cut.
  8. I'll correct this if it's wrong, but based on the first 3 matches and what's been advertised as being shown, this is the 24/7 version of the card: Un-aired: Greg Gagne vs. Rick McGraw 24/7 Aired Version: 1. Jose Estrada vs. Angel Marvilla 2. Dominic DeNucci vs. Baron Mikel Scicluna 3. World Wrestling Federation Junior Heavyweight Championship: Tatsumi Fujinami © vs. Chavo Guerrero. 4. World Wrestling Federation World Martial Arts Championship: Antonio Inoki © vs. Larry Sharpe. 5. World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship - Best 2 out of 3 Falls: The Wild Samoans Afa and Sika © vs. World Wrestling Federation Champion Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales. 6. Pat Patterson vs. Tor Kamata 7. World Women's Champion The Fabulous Moolah and Beverly Shade vs. Kandi Malloy and Peggy Lee 8. Wolrd Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship: Ken Patera © vs. Tony Atlas 9. Ivan Putski vs. Johnny Rodz 10. The Hangman vs. Rene Goulet 11. Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant 12. Steel Cage Match: Bruno Sammartino vs. Larry Zbyszko
  9. Seeing Vince McMahon do ring intros is great. Michael Cole and Mick Foley do commentary for the show. I'm only 4 minutes in but so far they're spending more time talking about the history of the event than what's going on the ring (and not much is so far). It's actually pretty interesting. Angel Marvilla's jumping flying headbutt is awesome.
  10. The October 13th Nitro has a segment where Debra confirms rumours that Jarrett left WCW. Mongo calls him a quitter but Debra promises a surprise for him at Halloween Havoc. Is there where the Goldberg/McMichael feud started? Edit: Guess not.
  11. Wow, it really is like Survivor Series never happened - right into Slammys hype. How bizarre (great, now I have that song in my head). Apparently Jake Roberts has returned to the WWF from his "Oriental tour". Ok then. Wasn't he at Survivor Series? The video package on Brutus Beefcake where he cuts some hair, spraypaints jobbers, and then shows them a mirror causing them to comedically freak out was entertaining. I like this Don Muraco promo where he calls out Butch Reed as Bruce Reed, "what your mommy and daddy named ya".
  12. Mid-month update. The description for the 51st episode of Raw is GOLD, Jerry. Raw: Episode 50 January 31, 1994 | Approx. run time: 40 mins. The 50th episode of Raw is earth-shattering with the gigantic return of WWE Legend Earthquake. Will Earthquake send shockwaves throughout the Fernwood Resort in his re-debut? There will also be some controversy at the broadcast table because IRS is the guest commentator. He still holds Razor Ramon’s gold chains and the Bad Guy will do anything to get them back. Don’t miss Raw! Raw: Episode 51 February 7, 1994 | Approx. run time: 37 mins. Warning: Do not watch this episode if you have a weak stomach! That is unless you’re Bastion Booger’s No. 1 fan because Booger co-hosts Raw this week. You can also catch a young Hardcore Holly in action as “Sparky Plugg.” In the main event, IRS challenges Marty Jannetty. It’s a can’t miss episode of Raw. DrV: With THAT main event? I'll bet it is! I'm just sayin' Wrestling Challenge: Episode 16 December 21, 1986 | Approx. run time: 39 mins. Will Ricky Steamboat ever return to the ring? Those answers might be revealed on Wrestling Challenge as Gene Okerlund visits his doctors. Andre the Giant also gives an exclusive interview discussing his sketchy reinstatement. Finally in six-man tag action, The Junkyard Dog and British Bulldogs face Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake and Moondog Spot. Wrestling Challenge: Episode 17 December 28, 1986 | Approx. run time: 38 mins. This week’s Wrestling Challenge features some of the largest Superstars in WWE. King Kong Bundy and Kamala are in action and both are victorious in record times! Along with the largest, one of the strongest Superstars, Dino Bravo wrestles. There’s also a big six-man tag this week as The Hart Foundation teams with Adrian Adonis to face Mike Rotundo, Dan Spivey and SD Jones. The final Wrestling Challenge from will be memorable. DrV: The final Wrestling Challenge from what? (I know, I know - 1986) Wrestling Challenge: Episode 19 January 12, 1987 | Approx. run time: 42 mins. It’s a Hall of Fame edition of Wrestling Challenge this week. Tito Santana, King Harley Race, Don Muraco and Bob Orton Jr. are all in action! Plus, get caught up with all the happenings in WWE from Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat to Andre the Giant. WrestleMania III is just around the corner, so anything can happen on Wrestling Challenge. DrV: I suspect Episode 18 of Wrestling Challenge featured and endless string of people saying "WWF" or mentioning Superstars "OF WRESTLING". My Favorite Match: Matt Hardy - Hardys vs. Edge and Christian - Tag Team Ladder Match October 15, 2008 | Approx. run time: 22 mins. Catch the Madison Square Garden event WWE Universe unanimously voted for! Relive a classic tag team title encounter between The Nasty Boys and The Hart Foundation and Jake “The Snake” Roberts takes on the daunting task of defeating Earthquake. In the main event, Undertaker faces Ultimate Warrior in a Body Bag Match. Don’t miss the entire event from Madison Square Garden! Saturday Night's Main Event 11/28/1987 November 28, 1987 | Approx. run time: 65 mins. An interesting thing happened when WWE Universe voted on the episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event they wanted to see. There was a tie between two episodes. Instead of having a tie-breaker, WWE.com Legacy decided to air both episodes! This episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event features a WWE Championship Match between Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy. The other big match of the evening features Bret Hart taking on Randy Savage. Can the Excellence of Execution defeat Macho Man? Saturday Night's Main Event 4/27/1991 April 27, 1991 | Approx. run time: 66 mins. Ultimate Warrior is looking for revenge against Sgt. Slaughter on this edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Three months earlier, both Superstars were battling it out for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. Last time Slaughter was victorious; will lightning strike twice for the Hall of Famer? Also on the show is a 20-man battle royal and Bret Hart challenges “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase. It’s no wonder WWE Universe wanted this Saturday Night’s Main Event to win at the polls!
  13. Oh yeah, this episode also has the infamous "Stu is dead" comment. When I saw the scene in Wrestling with Shadows where Bret is informed of the comment, I could never remember any promo where Shawn declared Stu to be dead, so it's nice to be able to piece it all together.
  14. I believe the 20th is Jarrett's "shoot" promo. I don't really have much to say about Nitro but I really enjoyed Raw. It was hitting on all nostalgia cylinders for the just about official beginning of the Attitude Era (I think "officially", it began with the Vince promo about not insulting our intelligence and shades of gray and what have you). Raw highlights: - The term "D-Generation X" is used (and in an odd deal, Larry Z referred to Raven and Saturn as Generation X on Nitro). - A fun minis match. - LOVED the LOD stuff. - The Austin/Faarooq promo I was waiting for. Didn't remember it leading to the first Austin/Rock confrontation. - Jim Cornette's Phil Mushnick rant, although the end the rant is very sad in hindsight, given all the deaths that have happened since Brian Pillman. - Fun commentary. Vince REALLY gives it to Hogan ("the only thing worse than watching him act is watching him try to wrestle"). JR throws in a zinger about No Holds Barred ("No Profits Allowed"). I also laughed at Vince calling Mushnick a miserable son of a bitch (and before anyone complaints, that - along with "suck it" - were originally censored so it's not a 24/7 bleep). Lawler used his "Brian Christopher thinks Judo is the stuff they make bagels out of" line and I actually laughed at "Janet Reno has so little sex appeal, her gynecologist calls her sir".
  15. Wow. That's *17* divas listed in that preview. How much damn time is that gonna kill? Not much. Last year they just did cuts throughout the night of their costumes being shown off.
  16. That doesn't even count since ALL the choices were heels - and Miz only won because he was looked at as the easiest opponent for Punk.
  17. I believe it's from a WWE.com article where Cena talks with the dude who made "Bigger, Stronger, Faster". I thought the movie was about a bionic man of sorts but apparently it's not.
  18. "COME ON, BITCH!". That's quite the language for a 1992 wrestling telecast. I see Mike Graham was involved in the Medusa/Heyman scuffle.
  19. A follow-up to last year's highly successful Cyber Sunday Costume Contest (deemed "the worst costume contest ever" by JR on commentary) has been announced! http://www.wwe.com/shows/cybersunday/match...343232/preview/
  20. The smiley face means it was a joke.
  21. Nah, you're TNA feud with bps made you sad. This just makes you depressed.
  22. The timeline makes sense. The week after that, you had Shawn Michaels - who is supposed to be selling the effects of a ladder match - take Lance's finisher through a table but still beat the shit out of him with a chair and win the match and then he wasn't even mentioned last night.
  23. Grappling action from Extreme Championship Wrestling (Pro Wrestling).
  24. My memory on hearing about it isn't clear if they dissed Droz and this pissed Taker off, or they were "rude" to Taker personally. Probably some combination of everything.
