The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread
DrVenkman PhD replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in WWE Multimedia
I wonder if it was something different in how WWE sent the shows out? We have two different cable companies but almost the exact same problem - no promos last week and only half the ONS matches (though the full show is there so whatever). Last week was the first time since I got really mad at Cogeco that a missing item didn't show up (things have been great since the first week of August, I believe) so, while my normal thought process is not to worry and all these missing TV shows will just show up, I am a bit worried now. -

It's been October for several hours now, people!

This particular show was billed as a special one (first night on MyNetwork TV). ECW also has a talent exchange with both brands now. As mentioned previously, MVP is in the doghouse for treating the drug testing urine collectors poorly ("So, you went to college to check out dicks").

If AWA Superclash and Prime Time Wrestling count as a complete update, then I did. Otherwise, no. -
I can see HHH as him and Jericho being in the same match adds some build to the triple threat match on Friday. It will help advertise the move.

Christian being the partner makes sense.

I watched a documentary by Jamie Kennedy called "Heckler" last night. Now I feel bad for saying bad things about movies or celebrities on the internet

It didn't hit me until halfway through the debate sketch that Chris Parnell was involved. I miss that guy.

The exchange between Michael, Dwight, and Phyllis was great. "She should thank me" "Good point - Phylis, you go first and thank Dwight" "Why should I be thanking him?" "Phylis, I'm sorry I had to deceive you in order to get you to excersie" (paraphrased)

Same deal here except two out of the eight showed up. One Night Stand showed up too, but no TNT or ECW. -
Did I miss some new rule about spoiler tagging TV shows that have already aired?

I hadn't fully processed 9/11. Thumbs up for the Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man photo.

Two different contexts.

I would have sub-titled the thread "Break me off a piece of that Fan-cy Feast"

Just to clarify from my end, the video quality is fine. It's watchable, there's no digital glitches, it's all very pristine, etc. The issue is does not have the "live" sports look. It looks like a taped television program or something from the UK. The best analogy I can think of is watch any live footage, then watch, say clips of Survivor Series 97 on Wrestling With Shadows.

There were, however, implications Flair had allied himself with Ultimate Warrior or Mr. Perfect going into his August 94 COTC match with Hogan. He had the Ultimate Plan or the Perfect Surprise (or maybe it was the other way around). What a disaster that one ended up being.

The Nasty Boys theme is indeed great. I would assume a rowdy fan used audible offensive language at the same time Tony mentioned Slamboree.

I figure since WCW Saturday Night is just the evolved weekly NWA show on TBS, might as well talk about the 1994 episode here. I will never get tired of that era's opening video. It's so silly, but I like it. A lot of guys seem to be coming out to their lame lyrical themes on this show too (I didn't even remember that Rick Rude theme).

I was looking over the scheduled promos they're adding tonight and while I originally thought nothing of it, reading old F4W's made the "August 6, 2006" date stand out a bit more. It's one of those great promos he did to build up to the Foley match, but sadly I do not think it's the one where he knee drops the book.

Franchise, are you using the "Every PPV is one segment" rule? It does make sense (since WWE's scoring was based on commercial breaks) but it was pretty stupid too.
-
In which case we're just wasting our time waiting for them to break up (see: Robin and Ted). The show's concept is funny like that because it's still really good, interesting, and funny yet terribly flawed from a continual story telling standpoint.

If a multi-million dollar company had so many problems on judgement calls and rule verdicts, how can I trust one man to run this the same way? Really though, I'd like to try it out but work and life has been unexpectedly busy as of late and I barely have time to do my non-paying job here. Best of luck though.

Probably. I wish the Live Events section of WWE.com listed all dates and not just by country. I'm not going to guess every single country just to see where they are touring.

Well you guys have your updates on Fridays or something so I guess. Monday = WiiWare, Wednesday = XBLA / PSN. For memory reasons I'll probably go with the XBLA version. Edit: XBLA version delayed until the 1st. Lame.
