At least it's not from 8 months ago.
-
It looks like it was encoded for 24/7 Online and then somehow put on TV.
-
The Anthology / 24/7 version is the live broadcast with added Coliseum extras, is it not? That's generally how these things work.

I was waiting for that! It actually seems pretty inconsistent right now. The Legends show has "ass" bleeped but a Shortie has Flair calling Carlito a lazy son of a bitch. Raw has a lot of "ass" too. It's worth noting that the blurred middle fingers on the current Raw were actually one the aired show (hence it being a old school "mosaic" blur and not the typical "blurry blur" used today), but it's not like those won't be blurred anyway. It's nothing to get TOO upset over though.

He's nobody now! Thanks for the head's up.

Tony has a great line on Nitro at the end of "El Cliente" vs. Rey: "Eddie didn't fool anybody... except us".
-
"I didn't understand a damn thing you just said, but I take it you're pretty pissed off" (or some variant) is the other part of that promo with Austin I remember.

I brought that fact up about Dragon and Mustafa in a comment on SKeith's blog and some people got really antsy, providing evidence that Dragon was acknowledged as Ricky Steamboat on such and such an occasion by Vince McMahon on commentary. I think that was really the exception to the rule, though.

So, I guess Gene is now the host and JR is just a panelist now? I see this show also has the "Classics" branding but does not have the odd VQ that Survivor Series 92 has, so maybe (hopefully) that was just a fluke of some sort.

That's some list of big stars that Mean Gene points out Bret Hart has beat. "The Berzerker, The Mountie, Rick Martel, BIG Papa Shango, and recently Virgil".
-
Well Flair actually left before Foley, right? I don't know how far in advance they tape the Roundtables but it may actually exceed the 3 month production timetable of everything else (or is right in line with it). Funny how that works out as "Forever Flair" happens after Flair leaves and now the promos for October have some focus on Mick Foley's baseball bat.

I could be off because I only skimmed / am using memory, but the next Raw should contain the following: - The aftermath of Pillman's death - DX becoming official / Curtian Call promo. - Jim Cornette's segments begin - Faarooq cutting a promo on Austin with Austin having a reply I got a kick out of. Jarrett should be coming soon too.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. On the MSG show currently airing, some comments about Col. Mustafa representing Tehran and being a former Olympian are mentioned - neither of which had to do with the Mustafa character.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
In 2007 it was Tag Teams and in 2008 it was Big Bangs and Dazzling Debuts (a Raw 15th Anniversary celebration). A Rumble usually is one of the Big Ones and, at the very least, one of them is in the PYBO voting. -
Cogeco put this up today but man, the VQ is a bit distracting. I'm actually a bit worried - this is actually the first "WWE Classics" branded thing they've aired so I hope it's not the beginning of a trend. It's watchable and everything, but it takes getting used to. I've noticed that sometimes when I FF a DVD on the Xbox 360 and go back to regular playback, the video looks like this temporarily. Oh well. Kind of odd how the Headshrinkers got the jobber "already in the ring" entrance for the opener. I haven't seen this show in years - I'm glad they showed the deal from Prime Time because Heenan slapping Perfect then begging for forgiveness less than a second later is awesome.

Yeah, it always pains me to say this (since I was on the WWE side during the MNW) but Nitro was much better on this week. The next Raw should be something else, though.

I have a vague memory of telling my cousin that Ric Flair couldn't win the Rumble because I already saw Piper throw him over the ropes at Survivor Series. God bless being a kid.

Virgil was able to go through 22 other bags in the back

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

The "This Day in History" bit on Raw about the Chamber of Horrors was tops. I need to see that again. -
Watching the evolution of Bill Goldberg should prove interesting. It's clear they don't have a Goldberg Formula yet (and why would they in match #2?) but it's odd to see him try stuff out. In his match with Barbarian, he does some crazy... I don't know what, he leaps at him, locks onto him with his legs, then rolls. He also does a dropkick! No spear yet either.

I had a dream that indicated putting a jalapeno pepper (like, the whole pepper) at the bottom of a champagne glass was an incredible taste sensation, both in drinking the wine and eating the pepper afterwards.
-
Was there any sign of Gregory Helms' theme in the intro this week? I completely forgot to look for the LISTEN when I watched the show on Saturday morning.

Bossman's elimination is always good for a laugh (yet you feel bad for him at the same time - that couldn't have felt good).
