This is a true statement. I know Samoans love them some 3/4 length tights, but he could keep the color scheme and go the Samoa Joe shorts route and work with the rest of the group. Keep the madman hair though, I love me some mad man hair. It was so weird too, having this guy with wacky hair and Low Rent Umaga tights come out, then speak perfect English backstage. I'm not conditioned to that sort of thing in WWE.

This is key, because I don't think it ever once came up again after the fact (making the booking of it a bit baffling). Now would be a good time to integrate it.

I like E becoming business minded and turning into an Ari clone.

Jericho won the title by slipping on a banana peel. It's the execution of the follow-up that will determine how good this turns out for him (and based on the Shawn stuff, I expect 'very good' - I really hope I'm not just getting my hopes up).

I watched the 41 minutes (!) of deleted scenes for the first three episodes. It's amazing that, even with those episodes being 42 minutes or so each, they STILL have so much material. Some of Dwight's stuff - like his story about being able to beat Zelda and Metroid but not RBI Baseball (so he blew it up) and the story about Mose's dog ("that's how you deal with a thief") were great.

Tazz: What did you drive here in, your wood paneled Subaru? Styles: Well it's an ECW original... one of the few left.

I really am looking forward to Adamle explaining all of this on Raw. Sadly this usually leads to me hearing a promo that explains nothing and moves on to the next plot, but we'll see.

I know what game I'm sending in this year's VC Secret Santa...

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
It does vary by provider. It's $10 in Canada. I was trying to figure out what Sting vs. Hogan or Foley vs. Orton had to do with anything, then I realized baseball bats were involved. -
More than anything, Orton's 1st reign was the first plot beat in the HHH v. Batista feud. That feud was supposed to be Orton vs. HHH, though.

Discussion: WWE Scramblemania~!
DrVenkman PhD replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
The first 5 minutes of the Scramble matches had really flawed psychology that can't be fixed without adding even more rules, so I guess they just hoped no one would call them on it. In kayfabe, it takes energy just to kick out of a pinfall, so why are you doing that? Pride, I suppose. -
How about that hot new tag team of Billy Jerk and Ken Patera? They sure went places.
-
They need to send Tazz back to ECW and promote Striker to SmackDown. He was great.
-
The other side of the coin was is that Jeff had an "advance pin" on Shelton, meaning he would get his interim title back as soon as the ref could count Shelton's shoulders down. Unfortunately Jeff didn't check the clock.

FWIW, HHH is indeed still listed as being on his 12th title reign from April on WWE.com's title histories. It was pretty apparent from everyone stating HHH "retained the title" that JR just goofed. However the World Title section isn't updated so they could still change it. Matt is listed as defeating "N/A" for the title instead of Henry.

I know they've been having server problems, but I'm just going to assume Jericho winning the title killed F4W/WO.
-
It's about 7 more weeks then was expected, so good for him. Plus he wasn't even pinned!
-
Which reminds me of the Sign of the Night: "PLAYER 1 IS REALLY TAKING IT TO HIM, KING".

I probably would have gone to BFG 06 if it was actually in Detroit, AND been excited to do it. It makes me weep a little inside to know no such emotion to attend a TNA PPV will be occurring anytime soon.

Amazing Heenan / Monsoon banter this week. It's always awesome when the Terry Garvin School of Self-Defense comes up, but to me, the highlight was one of those segments you could tell was completely improv (I think Heenan once said most of their stuff was). It's the segment discussing Jive Soul Bro becoming the National Anthem that somehow ends with Heenan declaring Atlanta as South America.

JERICHO~! Gotta love that Adamle Logic - Punk suffered a 10 second beat down and a kick to the head, so the buy who Shawn Michaels beat the shit out of is a suitable replacement. I thought the Scramble idea started out promising with the ECW title match. It was fun and Matt acting like a mad man to keep the belt in the closing moments was great stuff. I was less happy with the SmackDown match (and God I hope JR made a mistake calling HHH a 13 time champion - by my interpenetration of the rules, he retained his title, he didn't win it again somehow) and just kind of "meh" on the concept by the main event. I guess the bottom line is you can have a bunch of mid-carders fight over the ECW title (or IC title or US title in the future) and it's fun stuff, but I don't think I want to see this format again next year for major title matches. Though there was some interest in how the newness of the Scramble matches, it was really Jericho vs. Michaels stellar storyline that sold the PPV for me, and that was basically a decision I made earlier this afternoon after some thought during the week. I was happy with their match and even happier the feud is continuing at the World Title level. The undercard was what it was, but it was nice that the tag title match got more time than usual - it made the match seem important, which helps the titles, which obviously helps the title holders. I also don't know if Cryme Tyme was really underrated during their first run or if they've really improved because a lot of their double team moves are really fun to watch and they seemed to hold their own end of the match.

F4W/WON WWE Notes - Summarized notes, radio notes, etc.
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I also have no idea what any of this had to do with anything F4W/WON but that's another story all together. And where the hell is the Classic WON? THIS is why I don't like MMA... -
So two more episodes then. Hooray!

I'm trying to remember how they brought up the curtain call on TV and in my memory, it was Shawn asking to see footage from MSG (meaning this show) on the next Raw but getting 1996 MSG footage instead. I could be remembering that wrong and I don't want to go look it up.

So the end result had nothing to do with Lena Yada? Bah.
