And how in the fuck the Second World war is a "good" war is beyond me? He means justifyable, which it was. He's assuming that the connection of it being stupid was because they're both justifyable, at least that's what I got from his post. I don't agree obviously. The point is that it's not about whether it was right. it's stupid comparing something of the magnitude of WW2 where the fate of the world was at stake with the War in Iraq, where the fate of the world isn't at stake. It's a nice gesture sure, but is it as necessary/important as WW2? No I don't think so really. This reminds me; I remember a guy who was absolutely against war at all costs. I asked him about WW2 and whether that was justifyable. He just said that we shouldn't have gone, because we probably started. My response: "You're a very brave man for thinking that way." I'm a nice guy, I didn't want to outright call him stupid.

I didn't feel like typing memories or anything, but I just wanted to say that I did that last semester, and I'm in Gr. 12. It was less of a Tarzan though, more of a Money Shot/Death Metal growl. Oh well, some of us mature slower than others, just in mine a lot slower.

In an effort to not let this thread stray from its original intention, I will say that I too once planned on waiting a year before university to go on such a trip like yours, but my parents wouldn't have it. Too worried they were, and they were probably hoping it was something I'd get over, like one of those "phases" they keep hearing so much about. C'est la vie.

Contradicted by... I think we all knew that the winner of Silva/Sentoryu would be facing Ogawa, even when they announced the matchup, but still, there's no need to bring the Texas Crazy Horse into this. Slap in the face to Heath in my opinion. You could lie about why Ogawa is facing Silva, but you don't have to shit on Heath in order to make that point. Here's hoping all 350 lbs of Silva is packed into one punch where he KO's Ogawa.

Queens, U of T and Mcgill are pretty highly regarded. Waterloo as well for certain things, and UBC out west is the only that stands out from what I can tell. McGill is in Montreal, but it's purely English speaking anyways. I was thinking of going there, but the language barrier OUTSIDE of school probably would've been too much for me. Ogawa should have fought one of the two guys that called him out, but then again we all know that that would require some testicular fortitude on his part. Speaking of which... Apparently Chuck is rumoured to take on Vernon White at UFC 49. I saw this on Sherdog. That's just a rumour, but yeah, anyone know if there's truth to this?

Guitar for a little under four years. I'm not as knowledgable in theory as I like, but my technique is well played. I will pick up the piano soon, if only due to the fact that theory-wise it's similar to the chords on a guitar and what-not. Technique is a whole other story obviously.

I didn't know how to word it better, sorry. Basically I'm asking what it is that you're doing right now, like where you are in your life with respect to what you want it to be, and what you plan for the short/long term future. To use myself as an example, I'm finishing up high school this year, and I'm going away for the summer to work at a camp, and in September I will enroll in Chem. Eng. at a university to be named later. I don't know why I got into that, just wanted something respectable that can be useful once I graduate. I figure that any liberal arts course that I'm interested can be learned in my spare time anyway. I guess I'm pretty lucky that my parents are willing to afford the costs for this, as a lot of people I know don't have the money to go to university next year and will probably have to work in addition to getting loans. That sucks. So yeah, what's going on? I'm pretty much just wondering what's up with the rest of the board, if only out of curiousity. I've been getting in a "reminiscing/reflecting" sort of mood as the school year has been ending.

Read my second post people. The best album that I think has been released in the past four years (most of the stuff I listen to is older anyway so I'm not really up to date) is probably Kid A or Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I'm probably forgetting something but it's late.

Losing My Religion is a love song now? I was gonna say At Last and Unchained Melody, so I will just go with the Beach Boys - Forever or maybe Can't Help Falling In Love, the original version. Why Can't I Fall In Love is sorta romantic depending on how you look at it I guess. It's a great song regardless, but maybe that depends on who you are.
