I'm saying that when Jones gets to his "desired" weight, he will be a lot slower, and also, he only looked that quick when relative to Ruiz, a guy who has been pretty worthless for awhile now. He's giving up a lot when gaining that weight, it's only natural. I'm not saying he'd win, and in fact he'd probably lose. But if he *did* win, it would be mythical due to many factors involved. He still is the best boxer, pound for pound, and it's hard to deny that.

Everyone knows that Jones won't be nearly as effective in the heavyweight division due to the fact that he's losing a considerable amount of speed and quickness in the step-up. Roy Jones was light-heavyweight before correct? Does anyone know of a fighter that made himself famous in a lighter division, than stepped and was still seen as a credible fighter? I don't follow the history so I wouldn't know. I should also point out that it's also funny that his only loss was due to him kicking too much ass, too fast. He might not beat Lewis, but he's still better pound for pound, so what's the problem? If he did beat Lewis, he'd reach mythical proportions in my humble opinion...

I don't know if this counts, but every fucking commercial I see for video games or beer revolves around Andrew WK. It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't a talentless piece of shit, but there you go.

If you gave a shit, dude would probably fuck it, bust on it, than eat it. Yes, Barron is by far the biggest whiner on the boards, but the funny thing is that he probably doesn't realize it.

I believe my first post on this board was me asking how you felt about these guys. Now, while it's old, the review for Busted Stuff is up on ViewedAskew.com. Tell me what you think, and hopefully this will go over better than the Bowling For Columbine Review did. Even though I'm posting the review here, because some of you ARE that lazy, just visit the site anyway, who knows, you might like it... Dave Matthews Band – Busted Stuff Review To be honest, I never really got into The Dave Matthews Band, or Dave Matthews’ Band, whatever. I hated the fact that they picked the lamest name possible in the history of lame names for a rock band. I never understood their popularity with twenty-something, coffee house dwelling “whiter than white bread” folk that constantly make up the background of Friends. I was also glad to see other rock elitists trash them as well, even though he kind of looks like one. So in short, I hated DMB for the longest time. Until now that is. I picked up the album and paid all fees due to our good friends at Kazaa Incorporated, and was all ready to bring the HATE~! I instead found myself apologizing to my arrogant drumming bastard friend (Carter Beauford is REALLY good), and my punishment was him kicking the crap out of me in his basement to some Dream Theatre. By the way, is it me or all drummers really that hefty? I don't know, anyways I bring that up because these crazy kids only seem to like bands with good drummers. Can someone please tell me of a drummer they know who thinks highly of the Beatles? Or Wilco? Or Radiohead? It always seems as if they give more respect to Slipknot than the previous, only reason being Joey Jordison(sp? I don’t give a shit enough to actually check). He seems competent in a musical setting, I will give the enemies that. Too bad the other eight guys don’t. Oh right, the album. Well, suffice it to say, it’s damn good. It’s not as solo-driven as previous DMB (Yeah, I “Bought” some other stuff from their catalog too), but it’s not as poppy as “Everyday”. It’s in the middle. It’s not as big on the electirc guitars either, as it’s more acoustic-driven, meaning it still manages to foray into all kinds of stuff like R&B, jazz, and the occasional ‘folky’ stuff. When I tried to “buy” each track on Kazaa, I found lengths of each song to be about two minutes apart. I believe that this is because the Steve Lillywhite Sessions (Original recordings the album was based on) were trimmed down. For what I don’t really know. My guess would be that they dragged, and to be quite frank they did. On the new album everything seems much more comfortable, as weird as it sounds, and all the music fits into place rather than dragging on. Each musician excels at his instrument too. As previously mentioned, Carter Beauford really displays a great sense of syncopation on the drums, and you can tell that he learned everything he knows through a jazzier style. Lessard may not be Les Claypool, but he provides some nice bass lines here and there. After all, you don’t need to pop and slap to be great. Leroi Moore also does a great job, showcasing his classical training and jazz influence. I have even heard that he has helped Dave arrange most of the songs. That violin guy plays some cool shit too.The standout though is Dave’s “White guy with soul” vocals, as he carries every song. He has really good range, and “Grey Street” is probably my favourite track on the album for this reason. He really gets emotional, and the colourful instrumentals surrounding him are a nice compliment to his intense vocals on the track. I guess there is a reason for the name of the band. Individually, it’s easy to tell that these guys went pro with each of their respective instruments. One last thing; something that has nothing to do with the music but I enjoy is the fact that the band has three black guys in it, and their fans are diverse and mixed, contrary to the Friends comment I made earlier. I don’t know why, but that just seems to be really cool to me, aside from their actual music of course. So in conclusion, it’s okay to be a rock elitist AND like these guys. Although I should point out that I’m not much of a rock elitist, because I still enjoy some mainstream stuff and I don’t like most of the new retro rock stuff coming out, aside from the White Stripes. Anyways, all feedback is appreciated, whether or not you liked the review, or agreed with me, etc. I always love to discuss and like to hear differing opinions, as I feel there is much good music that I haven’t been exposed to, and I enjoy hearing of new bands that everyone else is into right now. So drop me a line. Star Rating: ***1/4(Never good at these, as it’s always relative and I’m being exposed to new stuff all the time. But if you didn’t feel like reading the column, lazy bastard, this one’s for you.) Anyways, take it easy...

Banky is always calling people pathetic for whatever reason, especially Kinetic, perhaps in an effort to raise his own confidence, and also since he's never really dug Kinetic's posts anyway. Ah well, not much you can do, I'm still a fan. Too bad GimmickPoster.Com had to die, he had some potential too.

Thanks for the input first off.... To be honest, I was biased, but when you're reviewing a movie like this one, you have to be. Also, I thought I pointed out that Canadians had as many guns per capita, but the death rate is what I was referring to as the major problem, but I can see where you're coming from. I can see that you found the opening bit immature, but there is a fine line between immaturity and humour in my humble opinion, which I may have crossed. Really, that was just thrown in there for shock value, but I now see why you would have thought it made the review seem juvenile from the get-go. I exaggerated the parts about Rosie and Heston, but again, I did that to lighten up and it isn't meant to be taken to heart. There's some truth though.... You said there's something nice there. Why don't you instill some confidence in me and state what that might be -

One of you bastards had to have something to say about it.. -
Basically what the topic says, and I'd like to hear what you guys thought of it. I'm listed as Wasfy Jones. So, ermm, yeah, go to the site now and read that shit, than come here and post some shit.

TexasSmallArms is the most annoying by far I think. So many reasons, so little time. Let's just say that she's a metaphor for a WWF Women's Title Match, with special commentary from that bastard Andrew W GAY!!! HAHAHAHHAHAH LOLZ2002 (I should also point out that I wish Scots posted on this board, making it that much more fun). The inevitable sugar coating of this sentiment would be that she might not be this annoying in real life (although she probably is ), but on this board she seems like the touchiest, most self-serving bitch I've ever come across. Just to point out, I don't give a shit about her, I just thought that she fit the title of the thread nicely.

My thoughts exactly.

Now I'm SQUISHING YOUR HEAD! Have you ever seen that skit where they battle, one of my favourites on the show, which was better than SNL in my humble opinion... -
It just seemed weird, as most fans don't really care about the business aspect of things. I like the fact that you're posting these promos, but I'd like to know where ou find them, so I could look them up and check one out whenever I wanted. I'm sure there's got to be a site that just has a list of this shite.

Since we're in NHB, I might as well ask; am I the only one that finds Kylie Minogue to be unattractive? I just don't get it, especially for someone to be as obsessed as Kotz happens to be..

What he said

I can't believe that you guys forgot about the most interesting player, and perhaps biggest difference-maker, in this "fantasy"...Bret Hart.
-
Yeah, sometimes what they say makes no sense, as it's not related to the record, and I feel that they are biased as far as lyrics go, as in if they can't relate to it, no one *should*, lest you be an idiot. Although with Dashboard and JEW, they have a point I must admit. That review of Bleed American is one of the funniest I think. I didn't get the April Fools one with Jars of Clay, but I laughed out loud for the Kylie Minogue one...

The main beef I have with the site is that guys like Schreiber often tend to look too much into the lyrics of an album, rather than talk about the actual music and production. Sometimes he'll give a CD a crappy rating because of it, and devote like most of the column to pointing that out. Read the Smashing Pumpkins, Mellon Collie review. He even said that the music is fantastic, basically. It's weird. The free CDs thing is pretty cool, since they supposedly get them all the time. Most annoying was the Tool review. I didn't know why they gave Lateralus less than 1 when I clicked it, after reading a review about some thirteen year old kid who likes to make theories about math, I still didn't get it.

South Park is actually one of the most intelligent shows on television, as Trey and Matt have so many great episodes relating to "issues", but they wrap it all up like only they can. Who here honestly liked Homer's Phobia more than Sparky the Gay Dog? Exactly.

I Just stumbled across this to realize you're a reviewer at MOTHERFUCKING Pitchfork! What was your name and all that shit, as I'd be curious to read some of your stuff..
-
Well it's obvious that he meant what would happen in the six-man, regardless of whether that's the main event or not. I agree with Brian on this one, as the two factors in the finish should be Angle and Brock, with Angle going over clean (relatively). I see the WWE however booking the end with Brock going over Benjamin and Haas, while Edge and Benoit are worn out, giving the impression that they gave it their all but it just wasn't enough. Brock than does the staredown with Angle, with the other guys out of the picture. They might have a tag match or something, I don't know, but I must admit that this possibility doesn't sound too bad.

"I also remember him saying something to the effect that when he saw Hansen clobber Kobashi with the Greatest Western Lariat Ever during 4/16/93, that he thought Kobashi was dead or something. Turns out he's never seen Kobashi wrestle in '93." I believe that the point he was trying to make is that it was a very good lariat to say the least, and due to his raping of DEAN~!'s STYLE~!, it's hard to tell. As for the second point, he's commented many times on how he's seen very little puro, yet seems to try and recommend stuff. Odds are, he simply reads the review of someone else and recommends something by doing that. At least that's the way I see it. The Meltzer argument has been beaten into the ground so many times, so there's no point in rehashing it again. I will simply say that it reminds me a lot of how one could compare Rolling Stone magazine to Pitchfork Media, in that a bunch of tools who don't feel like thinking use Rolling Stone for their argument, while the rest who read Pitchfork use the music they listen to as their argument. An opinion is only worth its own weight in justifcation.

I'll tell you this much, I consider myself to be a pretty devout fan of wrestling, and even though I can watch PPVs for free on satellite, I STILL don't watch NWA. If I hear an internet report the next day about how great a match was, I might feel like disappointing myself by watching that specific match on replay and realizing that most people that reviewed it were talking through their ass. Why the hell would I PAY weekly for one good match along with a bunch of crap like the Disciples of Synn or whatever the hell names they have? Why would someone who is a casual fan and won't even watch the same stuff on Smackdown for free watch it? That's why NWA TNA is destined to fail, and the only name I hear people stating that will draw them to the product is...Goldberg, as much as people hate to say it. In my opinion, he still has the curiousity factor going for him, and might be able to draw a few BIG shows, not the weekly crap, but since they can't afford him it's a moot point. These same people would even flock to the WWF if he was on, believe it or not. But I digress. NWA TNA will fail for the reasons I listed above, and there's not much you can do about it. Sorry if I sounded redundant, in reference to any other NWA TNA thread that you guys have had, but I have never gone in one. I hate to sound like those people in the WWF folder like CynicalProfit, who just keep stating facts that we all knew, and that there's no point in even recognizing that argument anymore. I don't mind if I you hate HHH, but at least be creative about it.
