  1. I can't be the only one sick of Dana's fighter bashing.
  2. To Edwin: I don't see how you could disallow polygamy if someone wanted it, and I also think that it's a pretty clear case of being hypocritical. How can someone advocate gay marriage by criticizing anti-gay marriage folk for refusing to change the definition from marriage being between a man and a woman, and than saying they only want to change it to being between two people? By that token, they're discriminating against those that want to marry more than one person. It kind of is the same argument.
  3. Anderson was worth it too, but in my opinion it's not worth spending 250G per fight to build up a guy over a few fights. They have to take top fighters that aren't necessarily huge stars elsewhere. Anything else is gonna be a loss 95% of the time.
  4. By that logic the UFC could never hire a big star outside of their promotion.
  5. I'm a fan of Entourage as well, interested to see what they do with Vinnie Post-aquaman. He already did the 'indie' thing, so I'm curious to see what path he takes now. Also interested to see how Ari deals without the company behind him now.
  6. Then that's weird for them to ditch Yves so readily too.
  7. The difference with Rampage and Silva is that you set Silva up with a couple of cans and he can become the draw. He's worth the investment since he's still worth a shit, and can be a champ.
  8. It would be an upset if it was the other way around. I called Yves pwning him when it was announced, as did many others. Yves is the solid favourite here, and should be. I'm surprised that the UFC is throwing Joe to the lions so quickly, I guess they've lost faith since his last loss.
  9. I got Marquee Moon, and I love it. I'm surprised I hadn't tried to listen to it earlier. Talk about them in this thread, I'm sure I can't be the only fan. Anyways, the real motivation for starting this thread is that they're coming to Toronto Friday, and tickets are forty bucks. Though 25 years removed from their prime, I'm still tempted to check it out based on the brilliance of this album. Has anyone been to a show recently, or know what kind of material they'd play? Is it worth the steep price?
  10. Well I never had a reason to check out Playboy, but I guess I do now!
  11. I don't think Filho's wrestling is that good, he seems to just bullrush and gets away with it because of his athleticism/lack of technique on the part of his opponent. I'd like to see him face a MW with a good sprawl who is known to be hard to take down. Evan Tanner or David Terrell would probably fuck him up something fierce. Is it just me or do most of these guys look smaller than UFC MW?
  12. ChiecK! Why is Gilbert Aldana being brought back but not Buentello? Aldana is a right-hand happy monster but he's also a pile of shit.
  13. I am Canadian, origins/whatever don't matter, I'm a Canadian first and foremost. But that's irrelevant, you have to not be Korean to hate this fucker.
  14. Somewhere Dana White is showing off that really smug, insecure grin he's got.
  15. Yeah I hate that folder too.
  16. He said he wants a direct shot at the winner of GSP-Hughes, although I don't know if Dana will give it to him.
  17. - Kang is still overrated as fuck and as you said, is not a top 15 guy. - Ninja is not the fighter I thought he would be, and may never live up to the potential his skills say he should live up to. - I should have realized that Baroni's streaky tendencies would catch up to him. Him blowing through Kondo only reinforces the fact that undersized LHW may not necessarily make great MW. - PRIDE's WW division is awful, filled with either lacklustre or boring fighters. Even though some guys might look good in this tournament, just remember that they're a far cry from what you get on this side of the pond. When Denis Kang is the best you've got, uhh fuck it. It's kinda sad, my first BJJ club is associated with his team, the Marcus Soares fight team, and I'll probably run into the guy sooner or later. I still want him to lose though, his internet fandom is ridiculous. In fact, I'll tell him as much to his face, that turncoat traitor gook/chink/jap/whatever-offensive-term-koreans-don't-like.
  18. Easy there buddy.
  19. There was a teacher in Colorado who did a pseudo-experiment along those lines where he broke up his class into "couples", mostly boy/girl, but one girl/girl and one boy/boy, and gave them all an egg. His results were inconclusive, though. Wasn't that an episode of South Park? "You'll be equal! You'll be....BUTT buddies!" If it happened for real, what age were the students? Because I hardly think that if the two "gay couples" were eight years old, that shouldnt really be used as a guide for banning gay marriage. Dude, you got the reference and you're STILL asking if it's real? Nodog.jpeg
  20. Nah get the other one deleted. And bad on the politicians, we should encourage the drubbing of Moslems.
  21. I don't understand both parts of this statement.
  22. Yeah that's what I remembered hearing, since he's out in SLC, Utah. He should train with an actual team.
  23. Spelling is not just memorization either. You have to learn about a bunch of different languages of origin in order to figure out where the word came from. Most of these words, the kids don't memorize, they take their knowledge of how letters would be arranged depending on what country it came from, or "style" it's in, and work off of that. There is deduction involved, every word the kids get they don't memorize, probably most actually. And I hate the spelling bee, what a waste of time to have it on TV, and it's kind of lame to have it on national TV. The worst was when I saw it for like five minutes and they talked about certain contestants past experiences, like "last year they made this mistake, and they have been working hard to correct it....It's so sad to see him go, he was a great kid, etc." Jesus Christ.
