The Wings sure are trying their hardest to make games unecessarily exciting. Their play so far has been shaky at best and I can't think of one solid 60 minute effort so far yet they still have earned 16 out of a possible 20 points.
Let's see what version of the Bills shows up this week. If it's the one that effectively shutdown a potent Chargers offense while efficiently moving the ball on offense, it's a fairly easy win. If it's the one that showed up last week, hello 5-3.
Another close one for the Wings last night. I guess it's good they're able to win these games but they are still a little too sloppy out there. Hossa's really coming on now which is great to see.
What a debacle by the Bills today. Four straight turnovers and Ted Ginn owned McGee all day long. Jets at home should go better but who the hell knows anymore.
Tonight was by far Hossa's best game in Detroit. His first goal was a beaut and he was all over the ice. That top line in general was excellent tonight.
This is the beginning of a crucial three week stretch of divisional games for the Bills and it's a game they should win. The key will be to limit the damage that Ronnie Brown and the Wildcat offense can do as their offense besides that is pretty pedestrian.
Apparently the Chargers have charged up Ralph Wilson too much as the power has gone out again. Apparently a balloon got tangled up in some power lines and that was enough. Only in Buffalo. And they're now playing with no power.
Pretty sloppy effort from the Wings tonight. The second period was good but the rest was bleh. They are getting outworked quite often which is discouraging. Hopefully Saturday goes better.
I thought McCargo had been doing a good job and added some depth on the d-line. It's not like the Bills are in rebuilding mood and need to stock up on draft picks. I don't get it.
He's was the 4th guy on the depth chart, who hasn't even been activated for all the games this year. The Bills HATED him. All training camp long and into the preseason the talk was that he was just lazy and dumb. Dude was a first round pick and he couldn't beat out the 5th round pick from the same draft for the starting job for the first 2 years...and then they went out and got 2 new DTs. The Bills just flat out didn't want him on the team anymore.
About the only time he looked effective was the Giants game last year so it's a little surprising but not completely unexpected.
Regarding each point you made:
-Agreed on the chemistry issue but hopefully in time the new lines start to click
-Filppula has looked good thus far and the third line in general has looked very solid
-Conklin was great tonight. The save on that two on one was sick.
-Total agreement about Datsyuk. Just wait until he and Hossa get on the same page
-Hudler to me has always been a streaky guy but again like you said it may be adjusting to his new role
-Losing Quincy sucks but the Wings were in a tough spot.
