Top 500 Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Albums of All Time
B. Brian Brunzell replied to AboveAverage484's topic in Music
So, after seeing In Utero and Bleach so far down the list, where can we expect NEvermind to show up? My guess is at around #5 or 10. -
Ok, so the area in which I live is notorious for being overrun with rednecks, I've come to accept this fact. But every year, there's this HUGE country music festival known as Jamboree in the Hills. It's the largest country music festival in America. This year, the pizza place at which I work had a booth out at one of the campsites, which I thought might be cool. It was...for about 3 hours. After that, the hatred began to boil. Shirtless, farmer's tanned men overran the area wearing 10 gallon hats shouting the phrase "Get 'er done!" while proclaiming how there had "better not be no niggers around" and trying to pick fights. The other vendors near my booth were no better. One toothless man had a booth set up with nothing but Rebel flag and other various Redneck, kiss-your-sister style memorablilia, including a t-shirt with a picture of a Klansman driving a prison bus that read "Here Comes The Judge", which was simply the worst thing I've ever seen. Then there was a walk through another campground with my friends Mary and Sarah, when we saw a guy chucking beer cans at various people shouting "You're nothing but fucking nigger pussies, everyone of you! Fuck niggers!" I had thought that The Valley had modernized PAST the Civil War, but I guess I was wrong. the only upside to the week was that I was able to trade pizzas for beer, which eased the anger I had towards these fucking worthless people. I feel better now. Get 'er done.

At OzzFest '98, Incubus and The Melvins seemed a bit out of place.

And trying to intercept said batted ball is just about impossible.

What's the loudest band you've ever seen live.

How was Judas Priest? -
Oh, I'm not praising Travis Meeks, only about 1/3 of that album is even listenable, but "Whimsical" is simply a good song.

Because sometimes you just need a beer. And maybe it washes out the taste of prison love from your mouth. -
"Us or Them"- The Cure

True, but "Whimsical" off of the first Days of the New album is fucking great. Would I put it up with Dylan, or the Stones' "Play With Fire?" Hell no. But still, it's a great tune. I also LOVE the acoustic version of Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye." I have it on the Live in Chicago DVD.

Motorhead was rather loud when I saw them, but Flogging Molly was unFUCKINGbelieveably loud when I saw them last year. My ears rang for damn near 4 days. -

Damn. I didn't even know Knoble was still around. An injured Knoble vs. Rey is better than healthy Spike vs. Rey anyday. -
I'm a total Madden loyalist and already have my copy of the Collector's Edition reserved, but I think I'll definitely have to give ESPN a rent. If I like it, I'll buy the motherfucker.

I have two dynasties going right now. One is with Notre Dame, and I'm 7-0, after beating Tennessee. The other I have is with the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers (my high school, and alma mater of Tom Thayer and Mike MOTHERFUCKING Alstott), running the custom Option Run playbook. I just beat Tulane in the Fort Worth Bowl. I did some simulating and went 9-3. I'm so hoping for a good recruiting class. I desperately need WR's and a good DE. I'm really loving the home field advantge mode. It always comes in handy when I'm on defense and my opponent is facing a 3rd down. I still have trouble passing though. I'm sure I'll get it figured out tomorrow.

Four Inmates Flee Jail, Return With Beer

The important question is this: What happened to the beer? -
That would be my guess as well. Anybody know any more on the KKK/Oklahoma matter? I know about their leader in Indiana being tried for the rape and murder of a woman and having mistrial declared twice, I belive. Of course, then he got thrown in jail. As evil and hate0filled as they are, everytime I see a KKK special or higlights of a Klan rally on tv, I HAVE to watch. They're so hilarious in their stupidity. I watched a special on The History Channel once, and during a cross-burning ceremony, the following was actually uttered: "We're fighting for the white man. No dirty niggers, no blood-scuking, back-stabbing, parasitic Jews will take over out world. All hail Jesus Christ." BRILLIANTLY stupid.

I've always been partial to Alice In Chains UnPLugged version of "Nutshell." Throw in Pearl Jam's "Thumbing My Way" as well. Great song from a great album.

Was the one who had never heard of Metallica deaf or lobotomized as a child? I mean, I bet the AMISH jam out Master of Puppets from time to time.
-
Supposedly, but you wouldn't think that could EVER be true if you lived here.
-
Send a carton my way, Agent. I'm broke as fuck right now.

I'm not grouping all Southerners as rednecks. I've met some very intelligent charming Southern folks. But in West Virginia, there aren't many at all.

Craig was the man. First 1,000 rushing/1,000 receiving yards back in NFL history. PLus, it was IMPOSSIBLE to bring him down by the legs. I miss the old 49ers of the mid to late 80s.

It's tough, but somehow I manage. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE The Elephant Riders, but the self-titled just seems like the perfect stoner rock album. It's got everything you need for a high ride, or just bong smoking in your basement. Elephant Riders seems a bit over-produced at times, whereas the self-titled is nice and raw, though not at the level of grit that is The Transitional Speedway League. Plus, can you really ever go wrong with "Spacegrass", "I Have Discovered the Body of John Wilkes Booth" and "Animal Farm?"

Ok, I lied. Used copy of Outkast's ATLiens. I had to do it. Well, that's perfectly understanble. After all, I think ATLiens their best album, and possibly the best hip-hop album of the 90s, with the exception of The Low-End Theory.

"Bike" is definite ownage, but I would've gone with something like "Lucifer Sam", or possibly "Mathilda Mother." Overall though, it's a quality cd.
