I really haven't gotten into any bands because of wrestling. Sure, lately the WWF has introduced we fans to new acts, but I never got into them. I like Evanescence and the angelic voice of Amy Lee, but I jammed them before Vince and Co. used it. Rougeau's theme fucking RULED.

So I finally caved in and bought Evanescence's album. While listening to "My Immortal," I nearly wept. It immediately reminded me of my grandfather, whom I loved more than anyone this side of my mother and father. I thought about all of the things that I had done with him as a child, and how that even though he's gone, he still lives with me and my family.

I can't bring myself to see thisw show. Aerosmith haven't truly been a great band since 1989 or so, and KISS is just a joke now. I LOVE KISS to death, I'm a card carrying member of the Army, but fuck guys, give it up. I saw KISS on the "Farewell" tour THREE YEARS AGO, with the original line-up, which rocked my little world. But good God it's over. Eric Singer in Criss' make-up is a travesty, and even worse is Tommy Thayer wearing Ace's get-up. That's fucking blasphemous. Add to the fact that Saliva turned into pussies and I see one big disappointing show.

Great choice on your #4 tune there, Oblivion. "Saucerful" is classic Floyd, especially the "Syncopated Pandemonium" section of the song. Sure, it sounds out of tune and out of time, but that's the genius of The Floyd. It's supposed to be that way. I still like its original title better though. I mean, how cool is "The MAssed Gadgets of Hercules?"

Speaking of Journey, how about "Oh Sherri" by Steve Perry? Sure, the song isn't the greatest, but Perry is his usual GODLY self.

I need to find out when the Maiden/Dio/Motorhead tour comes to Pitsburgh. Then I shall get tickets. I still may go check out Lollapalooza on the 19th at the Post-Gazette Pavillion. I'm still not sold though.

That exceprt from Foley's new book wasn't half-bad. Perhaps I'll pick it up upon its release.
