  1. The problem was they had Triple H and Ric Flair completely screw Van Dam out of the title at Unforgiven. Logically, it would only make sense to continue the feud, building it so RVD could get his eventual revenge against the two. Yet, they seemingly dropped the entire angle -- keep in mind Van Dam and Flair barely had ANY interaction with each other until the Monday before Unforgiven -- in favor of starting something completely new with Bubba Ray Dudley. No one bought seeing this perennial tag team wrestler fighting for the Heavyweight Title, and besides, no one really wanted to see it anyway. There was nobody clamoring to see Bubba Ray Dudley with the Heavyweight Title. People always rally behind the face that got screwed out of the title by the heels, and they were dying to do it with RVD. WWE completely ignored this time-tested idea and tried forcing Bubba Dudley upon everybody. It obviously didn't work, so they needed to do a rush job of shoving a proven contender like Kane into the title feud instead. For me, the main highlight of 2002 was the return of Shawn Michaels. Besides that and the other isolated events I enjoyed (i.e. Rock/Hogan at WrestleMania X8, the Smackdown Six, The Elimination Chamber), the year was a complete wash.
  2. Zack, just stop making yourself a fucking martyr already. It's ridiculous now.
  3. I did wind up finding AJ/Joe/Daniels on Limewire, so thanks for the suggestion on that. And thanks to Papa for helping me find AJ/Joe from No Surrender. For Haws: Bret's Swearing Tirade on Raw xttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=H8L618ZC
  4. If you're willing to upload that match, I'm willing to upload anything from my list you might want.
  5. While not old-school, I'd really like to see some recent TNA stuff. Particularly AJ/Samoa Joe from Sacrifice, and the AJ/Joe/Daniels three-way match. Can't seem to find those matches anywhere. In exchange, I've got a few matches and segments I could re-up if interested: The Bret Hart swearing tirade on Raw Over the Edge 1998 Intro Kurt Angle/Sherri segment from Smackdown Paul Heyman's promo from the Smackdown before Survivor Series 2001 TLC 3: The Hardyz vs. The Dudleyz vs. Edge & Christian vs. Jericho & Benoit Canadian Stampede: Bret Hart/Owen Hart/Jim Neidhart/British Bulldog/Brian Pillman vs. Steve Austin/Ken Shamrock/Goldust/Legion of Doom Raw: Triple H/X-Pac/Chris Benoit/Dean Malenko/Perry Saturn vs. The Rock/Cactus Jack/Rikishi/Too Cool Ring of Honor: AJ Styles vs. Low Ki vs. Paul London SummerSlam 2001: Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle ECW joining the Invasion in 2001 Halftime Heat: Empty Arena Match: The Rock vs. Mankind WrestleMania V: Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage WrestleMania VII: Randy Savage vs. The Ultimate Warrior
  6. TNA has done an abysmal job of marketing these DVDs. Most of the franchises that are supposed to be carrying the DVDs have never even heard of NWA-TNA. Tried a Super WalMart in upstate NY for this 3 Pack. They had no idea what I was talking about. Obviously from seeing what many of you have had to say, you've had the same bad luck. Tried a Best Buy in Brooklyn for the Best of AJ Styles and the Best of the X-Division. The web page said they had it in stock, but they told me they didn't hear about getting any shipments in. Well, that ain't good. Tried a FYE in Brooklyn for, again, the AJ Styles and the X-Division DVDs. Again, while the web page said they received a shipment of it, the employees there had no idea what TNA was. These DVDs are clearly not accessible to the average customer. These aren't exactly tiny rural markets either. TNA really needs to get their shit together, more so at this time than any other. I've never really followed the federation before now, but I have specifically gone out of my way to buy these DVDs several times and have come away empty-handed. They're shooting themselves in the foot with this right now.
  7. They should be thrilled they got 225,000 buys for Unforgiven. There was not one money-making match on that card.
  8. Yeah, fuck it. If Hoff's promo isn't going to be posted, I ain't wasting my time.
  9. I'd blame Hoff, but he hasn't been around in a while.
  10. This is the liberal media's fault.
  11. Uncensored -- and I put the emphasis on uncensored -- Drek Stone interview. He's going to answer all the questions of his whereabouts. And be rest assured, he's going to offend people. Even people he's close with. Absolutely nothing will be held back. I would just like to have the opening slot of the show, and I ask that not one single word be removed from the interview. It would mean a lot to me.
  12. Another great episode. I hate that it's going on a three week hiatus when it seemed to be building such a good groove, but I'm sure it can hold onto the momentum. There's good chemistry between Scofield and the Doctor. Nice thrilling scenes in the escape tonight, particularly when the inmates started breaking through the ceiling tiles. I'm sure she's going to start snooping more into Michael's life now since learning the mold excuse was a lie -- and she may even get as far as discovering the prison break scheme -- but I don't think she'll ever rat on him about it. After getting her out of trouble, it's clear she's on his side now. They have to be setting the stage for T-Bag to eventually get killed by one of the other guys. Most likely Abruzzi. He's been an awesome evil character so far, and that mean streak continued tonight with taunting the CO about his daughter, then killing him afterwards. There's no way Scofield and company are going to allow T-Bag to break out with them. The lawyer angle is also picking up some nice steam, although they didn't seem to resolve much tonight. Did anyone else catch the glance DB Cooper gave the CO after T-Bag stabbed him and threw him off the balcony? I think that's going to throw a serious wrench into any plans for Westmoreland to finance the escape being planned. Stacy Keach as the Pope has become one of my favorite characters. His angry outbursts are rare, but when they happen as they did tonight towards Bellick, they're gold. The only thing I wasn't feeling was the fight between Lincoln's son and the stepfather. It just seemed like it was out-of-place within the context of the episode. The acting in that scene -- particularly from the stepfather -- was lacking a little as well. Either way, I've loved the progress of this show so far, and hate to see it take its hiatus. The coming attractions for the next few episodes look excellent though. The FBI agents are definitely starting to crumble, going as far as to confront Lincoln's son with a gun. T-Bag threatening to tear apart the entire plan. And, of course, the obligatory teasing of the prison break finally going down.
  13. Disappointing match. It was a total rehash of their WrestleMania and Vengeance matches, with that nice moonsault reversal thrown in. Oh yeah, and might as well throw in a poor and indecisive ending as well.
  14. I think the draft lottery is just going to be a carbon copy of what happened in WWE. As in....John Cena started out on Smackdown, but was drafted to Raw. Batista was the Raw champion, and brought the title to Smackdown. It would be very difficult for them to allow a complete draft lottery, considering they just had to have the voices in the game again.
  15. From thefutoncritic.com:
  16. Well, yeah, that didn't work out too well for me. They were also sold out of SummerSlam 2005 and the Ultimate Warrior DVD too though.
  17. I'm probably going to try to buy it from WalMart later today. I'll let you know if I have better luck.
  18. That was an excellent episode. The show has been getting better every week. It's a real shame that the show is going on a month-long hiatus after next week. Hopefully that won't ruin the momentum it's been building up. The prison riot was handled very well. Just so chaotic and wild, which makes for good TV. I was glad to see T-Bag this week -- he's the perfect scumbag character -- and once he started kicking the prison guard near the cell blocks, I knew they would make their way to Michael's cell. Once the guard knocked over the toilet seat, it was a definite "Holy Shit" moment. I like that they're going to have to bring T-Bag with them when they make their escape, although I think they're probably going to screw him over the day it happens. Good revelation with the incriminating call coming from Washington D.C. But I don't like Scofield trivializing the entire plan to save the doctor. I could see trying to further him as a heroic character, but climbing up on the roof in the middle of the day while all the prison guards and the warden are standing outside is pretty ridiculous. As is the fact that a helicopter flew right over his head and somehow missed spotting him. The only true flaw that I saw in the episode. Next week looks great though. Lincoln getting attacked by the group of inmates. Michael somehow trying to explain to the doctor how he crawled through the vents to help her.....and the red laser-beam being held to his forehead. Again, it's a shame the show is going on hiatus. This was possibly the best episode they've done with an "on-the-edge-of-your-seat" feel through the whole thing.
  19. Hey, I say we use the other thread. It actually has news in it.
  20. So not only is Pennington finished for the season, but Fiedler is done too. And this leaves....Brooks Bollinger as the starting quarterback. This puts an effective end to the Jets season.
  21. "American Dad" making fun of the Internet kid spinning the light saber IS hysterical though. Funniest part of the episode.
  22. When you're firing jokes non-stop for a good 22 minutes, there really is no way to avoid some of them bombing. The fact that some of them click so well to make someone laugh-out-loud is the real success of the show. But Family Guy was never really that funny to begin with? I'm not sure how to even argue that one.
  23. I thought it was definitely a decent episode. Not one of their best ones, agreed, but it was good. Certainly not warranting the whole "Oh my god this was a vile piece of shit" garbage that seems to be spewed every single week. Since Family Guy came back, there has been a backlash on these boards against the show. For what reason? I have no idea. Even if you think the show has lost a step, it still is undoubtedly one of the funniest shows on Network TV. But you would never get that vibe reading through some of the dramatic posts in the Family Guy threads.
  24. I would guess it has to do with the tedious Family Guy bashing every week. I mean, it really is every week now. If the show just doesn't entertain you anymore, wait until 9:30 and turn on American Dad. There are obviously a wide amount of people that disagree with the whole "This was the worst episode of Family Guy ever" shtick.
  25. "So have you seen any hanging clittorati?" And the Lou Gehrig disease cutaway was almost as offensive as the Ronald Reagan one last week. Still very funny though.
