I sincerly hope Tadahito Iguchi doesn't win rookie of the year. It'd be one thing if there was no legit candidates or he was having an Ichiro type year but with real rookies like Gustavo Chachin and Huston Street out there having good years, Iguchi does not deserve consideration.

There was no game between two ranked teams this week so I just took highest ranked team playing an undefeated team which was your game. You lucked out as the replacement picks used (Gert T) were enough to win. Last year I did automatic forfeits but it messed up the standings and rankings too much. Just a note you are only allowed once to not submit picks and still be eligible to win the contest.
-
Just a hunch I think the Mets would trade for Thome in the offseason if the Phillies do shop him. It'd be a very Met-like type of move.
-
Don't say that to Harold Reynolds. His reasoning was that Andruw was the veteran presence for a young team and he set a Braves single season homerun record. AND he plays great defensive centerfield. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's only 28 and he has veteran presence? I thought you had to old and washed up to have veteran presence like Steve Finley. Maybe Andruw has presence but Steve Finley now he has VETERAN PRESENCE~! And you know who the MVP really is? You guessed it. Frank Stallone.

Well time to stop paying attention to all baseball media the rest of the year. Ugh and I was so hoping he'd fail miserably. The Padres better put them away this series.

ESPN is no longer the sponsor of the Coaches poll so that's why them and ABC are back to using the AP. I guess Fox Sports is deciding to use it to just be different. Technically the AP poll is now irrelevent since it is no longer in the BCS formula and once the first BCS poll is released ESPN and ABC will use it.

The real 49ers showed up in the 4th but at least they held on. Tune to NFL Primetime and it's going to be an hour of the trademark Chris Berman hushed, serious tones.
-
The 49ers could still blow this one and Kevin Barlow still looks like shit at running back but the offensive play calling is sooo much better than it was under Dennis Erickson.

I'm going to wait a couple of weeks before bothering to post the conference standings since so few have been palyed so far. A lot movement on the polls, mainly because we've only played two weeks. Teams who were lucky to win this week were hurt in the polls. Is Agent Bond34 this year's Edwin MacPhisto when it comes to the #1 ranking? Bored Championship Series Top 10 thru Week 2 1. GOD DAMMIT! ASU was trying for the big play too much on those three previous plays. Ugh just when this was looking like a great day for the Pac-10.
-
You got to be kidding me. ASU looked like they were gonna wrap this game up just a few minutes ago. Damn.

Ohio State isn't eliminated. Let's face it we know how the polls work, if you lose at the beginning of the year you can recover and run the table and get in if there isn't more than one undefeated team. Now time to focus on ASU/LSU, Sun Devils up 17-7 late in the 3rd.
-
More bad news for Oklahoma: SMU 14, TCU 3 Halftime Weird day in the MAC as Central Michigan upset Miami of Ohio and Bowling Green only up by four against Ball State in the 4th. Hey is Vanderbilt a bowl team this year? Scored road wins over Wake Forest and Arkansas so far.
