I thought so too but I found out that apparantly the 10/5 rule applies to full seasons played. Nevin's first two years in the bigs in 1995 and 1996 were not full seasons so he technically this is 9th full season in the Majors.

Never. It would have happened in the A.L. West in 1994 if it wasn't for the strike.
-
Okay you are in for the moment but I can't gaurentee your spot until an additional person signs up as I need to have an even number of teams. Sign ups are open thru August 8th so imagine at least one more person will sign up between now and then. If by chance no one else signs up then I'll put you on the back up list for when/if anyone drops out during the season.

A's rock the kasbah. Kinda of interesting situation they are looking at where if they win the Wild Card they'll draw the White Sox who they've dominated. If the catch the Angels and win the division they'll like draw the Red Sox who have a knack the last couple of years of handing the A's late inning, crushing defeats. Of course not to get a head of myself as there is plenty of time for this to all come crashing down. I mean they can't stay this hot forever.

To show what a classy guy Joe is he'll be skipping this year's HOF ceremony for the first time ever. He says he has a family commitment but seems rather convenient that he's doing this the year Sandberg is inducted.

If it's a toss up between mascots then just pick the team with the prettier uniform for a tiebreak.
-
On June 11th the A's were 12 1/2 games out of the Wild Card. Today they tied the Twins for the lead. Unbelievable. I'm almost bit uneasy by how quick this turn around has been as there is still 64 games left in the season.

When you are not in the league anymore it is tougher to find new baby's mommas.
-
Immediately after Week 1 is complete, although they'll hardly mean anything until about Week 5 or 6.
-
I'm leaving sign ups open for a couple of more weeks (August 8th) so won't be until then that I'll put the schedule together.

I've sent out PM's to all the bowl winners for the option to change the name of the bowl game for this year. Only exception was Flyboy who hasn't signed up so I gave the loser of that bowl game Lando Griffin the option. Oh and here's the PRESEASON TOP 10. 1. Minnesota (Vern Gagne) 2. Virginia (Edwin MacPhisto) 3. UCLA (phoenixrising) 4. Syracuse (CanadianChris) 5. LSU (teke184) 6. Georgia Tech (iggymcfly) 7. Stanford (Bored) 8. Hawaii (Will Scarlet) 9. Oregon (nogoodnick) 10. Notre Dame (Lando Griffin) The preaseason rankings have absolutely no effect on the rankings during the season, they are just there to have rankings for Week 1. To put the rankings together I took last year's results using this year's formula, the only exception being iggymcfly who slotted at #6 as they took over a dead team last year but did very well.

Seven years. He's a 10/5 guy so even without the no trade clause in his contract he'd still have the right to veto any deal.
-
You are in and that puts 32 teams in the contest. I will still take new sign ups and the three remaining holdovers can still sign up but I must end up with an even number of teams. I'm going to put an August 8th deadline for signing up as at that point I want to start putting the schedule together.
-
Lando Griffin has signed up which puts eight teams now in the Big MAC. Need either 2GOLD to re-sign up or a new sign up in the Big Atlantic to give that conference eight teams and 32 for the contest.
-
No only one team per player. As for what happens with the eventual team going on "probation" because the player dropped out I've come up with a new idea for that this year that I think will work better but I'll get to that later. Still need at least two of the holdovers or two new sign ups to get the mandatory 32 teams. Need one in the Big MAC and one in the Big Atlantic.

Indians trade Jody Gerut to the Cubs for Jason DuBois.
-
Skip Bayless was that kid in school who at recess would eat worms to get attention.
-
Supposedly ESPN Radio has reported this trade is about to go through: Red Sox Get: Mike Lowell AJ Burnett Florida gets: Bronson Arroyo Kelly Shoppach Sean Bouroughs SD gets: Abe Alverez Lowell and Bouroughs are both out of the line up today. Coud be other minor leaguers in deal. Trade would be completed when/if contract extension with Burnett is agreed on with Red Sox.

Dama...stay on topic please or I'll give someone else Oklahoma. JHawk has signed up, four holdovers left.

Benoit chopping Regal right in the fucking head after he had been busted open was beautiful.

I copied iggy's post from the old thread to here. Bowl winners from last year were: MILFHunter.com Bored Bowl: Minnesota (Vern Gagne) Traditional Bowl presented by Adam & Eve's Anal Lube: UCLA (phoenixrising) Oxycotton Bowl: LSU (teke184) KFC PETA Bowl: Maryland (MarvinisaLunatic) Massengil Country Flower Douche Bowl: Bowling Green (iggymcfly) Lucky Strikes Tar Bowl: Texas (Flyboy) - not signed up yet Out Magazine Bowl: Ohio State (Gert T) As for the Preseason Top 10 I'll wait to post that until sign ups are done. There is one team who would be in it who hasn't signed up yet. I'm sending out PM's today to the remaining holdovers to see if any are still interested.

The Rangers put jumper cables on their bats, literally, before that inning so guess it worked. A's starters need to work on their no-hit, one out in the 8th pitching.
-
Now thru seven, Dan Johnson makes a sliding grab in foul territory and Mark Kotsay a nice running catch to keep it going.
-
So after Rich Harden's near perfect game last night, Barry Zito has a no-hitter thru six tonight.
