Vince wants the wrestlers to become better actors. He thinks wrestlers on all the shows should be able to be on the same level of acting on a regular television show. He has assigned new creative team member Freddy Prinze Jr. to coach wrestlers on their acting skills. Seriously.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/57893-h...-pill-addiction Never heard that story and he doesn't put a source with it, so who knows. All I heard is that he was sent home after Rhodes turned on him. They were hesitant to bring him back because of they had nothing for him to do. His penchant for stiffing the the new guys and trying to make them look bad didn't help matters either.

What a weird religious promo by Kerry Von Erich.

Whoops, posted the wrong show. My earlier post is corrected.

Fuckton of matches.

I was in 9th grade in 1998. It was really nuts seeing the same people that used to make fun of me for watching wrestling when we were kids come to school wearing DX and Austin shirts.
-
Other reports coming in say Phoenix beat McCool.
-
Last time I heard, Lenny Lane was hawking a very unique business of "wrestling parties" for kids.

This crowd is relentless with the BOR-ING chants for Brady Boone vs. Jose Estrada.

Cyber Sunday 2006. The fans chose which title was on the line. They chose Booker's World Title vs. John Cena's WWE Title vs. Big Show's ECW Title. Booker won after Kevin Federline did a run-in and hit Cena with the title belt.

No, it was common for referees to do that if they busted someone using the ropes, which IRS was doing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the crowd completely backs Beth Phoenix over Candice on Sunday at the PPV. Has Candice done anything remotely interesting since returning other than look like shit in a couple matches? She got some lame tattoos on her lower back.
-
Huge pop for Kelly, crickets for Candice. Poor Beth can't keep her pants on again.
-
The worst contribution Steve Austin ever made to wrestling is this "WHAT?" bullshit.
-
Haha! Michael Cole just said "WWF".

Why are we blacking out things that haven't happened?

Could we consider closing this thread since it's largely useless now and all the hype turned out to be nothing?

Yeah, Rude suffered the neck injury in the match where he won the belt back from Sting in Japan. But this show was clearly taped before then, obviously since Rude was wrestling. He also didn't have the belt with him. Although to cover that up, they had him do an interview with Mean Gene making it look like he had just wrestled with the belt on his shoulder. They waited to see if Rude could recover, but he absolutely could not wrestle. They covered it up by opening Slamboree '94 with commissioner Nick Bockwinkel, announcing that he, after reviewing the video tape of the match, was stripping Rude of the title due to him using the belt as a foreign object in the match. He then cancelled the scheduled Rude vs. Vader match and announced Sting vs. Vader for the vacant title, which main evented the show. Sting won the title and later lost it to WCW Champ Ric Flair in a title unification match at a Clash of the Champions in June. They never mentioned his neck injury on TV and Slamboree was the last time Rude was ever mentioned in WCW until he came back in 1997. Rude went home and collected on a Lloyd's of London insurance policy until it expired in 1997.

*El Matador's music plays* Heenan: I like this music. It makes me want to stomp a roach. Monsoon: WILL YOU BE SERIOUS?

I laughed like mad when Mean Gene told Savage to shut up when he kept interruping the guy.

For some reason, I also still have the boy scout promo and it says "Available until 10/7".

Piper never wanted any titles. The only major titles he ever held were the IC Title in 1992 and the US Title in 1998. The only reason he took the IC Title was because Vince was in a bind and needed a face to throw the belt on because Bret all of a sudden started talking to WCW. I'm not sure about the U.S. Title thing in WCW, but he had the title for less than 2 weeks before dropping it to Scott Hall. Maybe Bret wanted to return to job to Piper.
