I <3 market forces.

The first time I ever heard of Tom DeLay was 10 years ago. He was shown on TV at a fundraiser trying to encourage big business to donate to the Republican Party. His line of reasoning was that businesses should only contribute to Republicans because Republicans were the only ones watching out for their interests. That told me everything I needed to know about him right there. Naw...Mike would be on here bitching about how Clinton simultaneously committed perjury, lying under oath, obstruction of justice, getting in the way of legal investigations, adultry, and cheating on his wife; any and all of which should be considered 100x worse that anything Tom DeLay and anyone he's ever met could ever dream of doing in a million lifetimes.

Please note that the above story does NOT claim that the lack of food and water for the survivors was an exaggeration.

I'm surprised no one has written a song parody entitled "Deadly Rita, Hurricane".

The co-captain of Security Moms for Bush is upset someone exploited a tragedy for political gain? Sweet Jesus, the irony. Okay, I can understand her getting pissed about the pro-gay King and King...but Rainbow Fish is socialistic???? RAINBOW FISH???? Is there really a part of that book that advocates government control of the means of production?

Well...that's one way of looking at it, I guess.

A caveman and a cavewoman had a modern married people's argument. I don't remember the set-up, but the joke really didn't have a punchline except they were prehistoric people arguing like modern people. It wasn't very good. peter and lois are fighting, Stewie says something ending witth "they aren't the first couple to do this" CUE SCENE <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe it would've been funnier if the srgument the cave people were having bore even a passing resemblance to the argument that Lois and Peter had just had.

Yes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let me rephrase: is it their fault you lack the requisite prior knowledge it takes to understand a joke? Someone cited the Liquid Sky reference from "American Dad". That joke totally went over my head because I lacked the requisite prior knowledge to get the joke. Does that make it the show's fault I didn't laugh? No, because I'm not the person the joke was aimed at. That doesn't mean the joke was stupid, it just means I didn't get it.

First, I know the characters aren't suspossed to be likeable. That doesn't mean that I have to like that. Second, that's just your opinion. Third, I normally like the cut away gags and pop-culture references. That doesn't mean that they always work, or aren't overdone, because sometimes, I think they are. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First, it sounds like you have a problem with the show's premise. You're mad at it for being itself. Second, of course it is. But I suspect the writers prefer writing for Stewie (more comedic potential), which is why he gets such to do in each episode. Chris is a one-joke character. Stewie is basically the voice of the writers. Third, you may have a point. Value is partially based on scarcity. If your tired of one of the show's staples, though, there's nothing wrong with taking a break from it.

I said this once already, but for me, the only things I don't like about "Family Guy" are that they relly too much on pop-culture references and cut away jokes, and that none of the characters are likeable to me, except for Brian and Chris. And I don't care whether or not it's intended or not, I still don't like that most of the characters are generaly unlikeable. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First of all, the characters aren't supposed to be likable. This isn't the Simpsons. Second, Stewie is a far better character than Chris. Third, the cutaway gags and pop-culture references are what the show is known for. If you don't like the idea of them, you're probably wasting your time watching in the first place. Is it their fault if you don't get a joke?

See...it was funny because Stewie when to such great time and effort to slap Will Ferrell. He didn't just leave the theater, but travelled across the country, stopped to buy a ladder, and then finally slapped him and told him the joke wasn't funny. Each piece work together to make the pay-off more worthwhile once it got here. If he'd just left the theater, and then slapped Will Ferrell, it wouldn't have been funny. It had to be long to work. *sigh*

He decided he was going to quit isolating himself from the human race after some coaxing from Wonder Woman.

Yeah, the caveman joke was a dud. I'm being openly defiant of the near-universal condemnation of the Bewitched gag.

That Bewitched gag killed me.

SCI-FI Channel has a marathon on Tuesday.

Nothing makes for informed, insightful reading like a right-wing blog. The lych pin of the argument presented in that link is a quote from something called Insight Magazine (dated January 6, 2003), which has also quoted a House of Representatives Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare from August of 1994. The Insight Magazine article is titled: Clinton Ignored Kim Jong-il's Nukes Their proof? So, based on this they claim that not only did North Korea have nukes 11 years ago, but the President KNEW about it? Just a little bit later, the article contradicts itself with this statement: That's some cutting edge journalism right there.

You have to ask? Coward.

It'll be at least another 3 years before Americans get that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, we too can die waiting for sub-par health coverage while our wealthiest citizens fly elsewhere to get actually competent treatment. Can anyone give me background info on Agent Farraday? What comics has he appeared in?

The pilot wasn't great, so everyone kind of assumed the worst and wrote the show off.
