I'd argue that both Orton and Benjamin's lengthy IC runs help that title regain quite a bit of its prestige. RVD elevated the Hardcore belt so high the Undertaker decided he wanted to hold it.
-
Putting any belt on the right guy can do wonders for its credibility. Remember RVD and the Hardcore title? Benoit isn't a main-eventer any more. With the exceptions of Carlito and Jordan, the US Title has been consistently held by upper-midcarders since it was resurrected. Cena, Booker, Big Show, Eddie...these are the people who've held the belt most of the time since it came back.
-
Indeed. 2002 was probably the most fucked up year in WWE history.
-
My whole argument was that Benoit would elevate the title. The only reason the US Title is in bad shape is they put it on Orlando Jordan. Once its off of him, problem solved.
-
I've got a sick feeling it'll end up being Cena vs. Edge vs. Hulk Hogan at Summerslam. No way a top face vs. HBK match would ever occur on Raw without HHH interfering (judging from the last two times it was tried).
-
My thoughts exactly. That'd totally elevate the US belt, and the show would certainly benefit from actually having talented performers feuding for it. A perfect set up would be after beating Jordan for the US Title (their feud was already set up with Benoit's attack on him during the JBL/Taker match a few weeks ago), JBL gets offended because Benoit isn't actual from the US and shouldn't be US Champ.

Triple H vs. Big Show, with HHH winning the feud.

It's tilted as far right as this one is left. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most of the conservatives just kind of gave up after the Mike incident. Wimps.

Conan retired from being a Destroyer, but is intent to remain a Barbarian for as long as possible.

I thought you were from Puerto Rico. That makes you an American citizen.

Let's hope playing Blu-Ray disks on the PS3 doesn't have the same effect on the machine that playing DVDs on the PS2 does.

What about an unarmed Darth Maul vs. Batman (with utility belt)?
-
NO! I'm saying Independence Day ripped off Return of the Jedi.
-
If I'm remembering correctly, Boys of Company C also had the bald Jesus reference.
-
Or the movie it ripped its ending off from, Return of the Jedi.

Xenophobia is a form of bigotry, is it not?

Isn't there a discrepancy between who actually watches wrestling (I'm thinking men in their late 20s and early 30s, based on some reports), and who the ads are aimed at (teenagers)?

I lost all interest in buying the PPV the second they announced the WWE "invasion" would be taking place. Suddenly it went from being "ECW One Night Stand" to "ECW Presents the Stars of Raw and Smackdown". I'm just one guy, but that's the reason I didn't order it.
-
I guess they thought they didn't need 2 non-allied heel Guerreros on one show. Chavo for IC Champ, sez I.
-
But it does make you a bigot.

Assuming Bush appoints an abortion opponent to replace O'Connor, the Court will be split 5-4. The 4 pro-lifers on the Court would be Scalia, Thomas, Rehnquist, and the new justice.

Going from several transcripts I found, he did use both terms in the interview. His beef is with the pharmacutical part of psychiatry, but to bash the entirety of either field based on this is ridicules. Drugs have nothing to do with the study of psychology.

New sign to use at a Smackdown taping: "REY WENT OVER MY DAD".

I find it hilarious that you're able to discount an entire field of research after taking one class in it. And I don't take issue with him saying that Matt Lauer doesn't know about psychology, nor do I think he's evil or anything like that. However, it irks me that he makes these broad, sweeping statements, and doesn't back them up. In fact almost every concrete thing he says is wrong, or irrelevant. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cruise's actual argument was against PSYCHIATRY, not PSYCHOLOGY. There's a BIG difference: One's a social science, the other's a medical practice. Psychology has nothing to do with drugs, but the study of human behavior. Psychiatrists are MEDICAL DOCTORS who treat mental illness. His argument was centered around with his disapproval of the use of medication to treat mental health problems. That's PSYCHIATRY. The fact that Cruise doesn't know the difference, and was using the two terms interchangably, PROVES he's talking out of his ass. Cruise presented no actual argument against the practice of clinical psychology, or psychology as a larger social science. However, he did mention it negatively in his attack. The social science of psychology involves hundreds of theories, many of which have been proven and reproven hundreds of times over. For anyone to dismiss the entire field would be a ridicules display of ignorance. I've had to take multiple psychology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and let me assure you, it IS a valid field of study.
