Strangest place you've met a wrestler

Saw Mae Young picking up Mexican food before an indy card back in the early 90's before I knew who she was. Delivered a pizza to Earthquake Ferris in the early 90's after his AWA career. Went to autograph signings for Bret Hart, RVD and Roddy Piper. RVD asked my kids who were only 4 and 7 at the time who their favorite wrestlers were. They said The Undertaker which gave him and I a good laugh.

Today, Eddie Guerrero would have turned 40

I went with the title win since it brings tears to my eyes each and every time I even see a highlight of it. Happened even when he was still alive.

Yeah, the Cyber Sunday commercial during the PPV last night reported that you vote for HIAC, Falls Count Anywhere, or Street Fight. I'd say HIAC is a little more than probable. What? No coal miner's glove match?

Today's serious question: If Cena isn't mentioned for six months at all, and then his music hits and he makes the save for a babyface being beaten down by Orton, what's his reaction, compared to other returns? Better yet, what if he comes back in a year to make the save on a babyface then turns heel and helps beat down the face? Hogan to NWO heat or just another ho-hum turn?

In an interview Jericho did with the Baltimore Sun back in July, they asked him if he would return for special appearances, and here's what he said: Q: When you do come back, do you want to work a full schedule again or do you want to be a guy who kind of comes and goes and makes special appearances? A: No, that’s not me. I’m “go hard or go home.” When I left, I never said I was retiring. I just said I needed a break and I said when the time was right and I could come back better than ever, I would. When I come back, it’s to come back and make a difference and to play the game. I don’t really think guys coming in for special appearances and leaving really helps. If you come in for one show every two or three months, it’s a good nostalgia thing, but you really can’t make any forward progress. You might as well just come out and wave at the crowd like an ex-president at a parade and then disappear. If I come back, it’s to do what I do best and become one of the biggest names in wrestling again. Source: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/wre..._jericho_1.html Exactly

when will people realize that Wrestling Internet Rumors are normally a 50/50 shot on being true or false? They're not always true, so yeah it's a possibility that the Booker T rumor is false as well. Wouldn't this be the 50% that is true then?

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainme...,0,763597.story The Associated Press 6:31 PM EDT, August 20, 2007 A lawyer for Chris Benoit's personal doctor suggested in court papers Monday that Benoit had a hormone disorder that permitted the amount of steroids he was prescribed before the pro wrestler killed his wife, son and himself in June. Dr. Phil Astin's attorney, Manny Arora, said in a motion to suppress evidence obtained against his client that a federal agent failed to tell a judge who issued search warrants in the case about the legitimate uses of steroids. Arora wrote that if the government had consulted a hormone disorder specialist, it would have learned that "the amount of medication in question was not excessive and would be medically appropriate based on the medical condition of Mr. Benoit." "Had the magistrate judge known all these things, perhaps she wouldn't have issued the warrants, and there wouldn't have been a case here," said Arora. "That's sort of what you have to prove: These could be used for a valid medical condition," he said. "That's the second-guessing we now do with these motions, because the government always wins the first round. It's a pretty high hill to climb, but I think we can climb it." Arora did not elaborate on Benoit's condition. A spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office declined to comment. Authorities have said Astin prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Benoit every three to four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007. Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, and tests showed Benoit had roughly 10 times the normal level of testosterone in his system when he died. Investigators have not given a motive for the killings, but the question of whether steroids played a role has lingered. Testosterone can be used as part of hormone replacement therapy. Some athletes also have been known to use steroids to enhance their performance. Astin has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of improperly prescribing painkillers and other drugs to two patients other than Benoit. Federal prosecutors plan a superseding indictment with new charges, but haven't said when they will act. Last week, Arora asked a judge to throw out evidence seized from his client's west Georgia office on June 27. Monday's motion to suppress challenged the legality of raids on Astin's office on June 29 and his mother's home the same day. Items also were seized from Astin's Carrollton office on July 9. A storage unit belonging to Astin was searched on July 6. Neither of the motions to suppress address those two searches. The district attorney overseeing the death investigation has said Benoit strangled his wife with a cord, used a choke hold to strangle his 7-year-old son, then placed Bibles next to the bodies and hanged himself on a piece of exercise equipment in his Fayetteville home the weekend of June 22. Astin is free on bail, but must remain in his home except under limited circumstances. A pretrial conference is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Just because I spent the last 4 hours at a bar discussing it...

I went to those early concerts in Oakland. Great shows but suprisingly the best parts were put on by Whodini and Oakland's own Too Short. My choice would be the Nirvana MTV Unplugged show.

    OAO Raw Thread - July 30, 2007

For years, Jerry “The King” Lawler safely ruled Raw as its one and only crowned man. Kingdoms have clashed since King Booker’s arrival, and now the two Superstars are set to determine which one is truly Raw’s king. On Monday, the debate will be settled once and for all. Also, we all know Randy Orton will do anything to get an advantage on the competition. In fact, he got to work quickly, hitting Cena with a brutal RKO before Jonathan Coachman even named the third-generation Superstar the No. 1 contender to the WWE Championship. How will the WWE Champion respond to the attack? Will he be able to counter Orton’s methods of gaining the momentum as we move toward SummerSlam? Last week, Mr. Kennedy found himself in another disappointing contest when he fell to Jeff Hardy via count-out. Will Raw’s cockiest Superstar find his rhythm again and start backing up his words with some wins? Find out the answers to all of these questions and more on Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT on USA Network.
