That's Ray Mendoza, actually. Rey Buccanero is a member of Los Guerreros de Infierno. The Villanos still work for CMLL, so does Lizmark Jr and Silver King (wrestling as Black Tiger, one of Eddie Guerrero's old gimmicks). Dandy worked for AAA but quit to go freelance. Super Calo runs his own indy fed in Mexico but his knees are completely shot. Shit. My bad. Thanks for the correction. And to think that I consider myself some what of a fan of the Guerreros. They're my favorite feature besides MMW on Galavision each week, so I guess I better watch em more closely next time, LOL. "Dandy worked for AAA but quit to go freelance." I may be wrong, but I remember seeing a match a few weeks ago on Galavision AAA between Dandy and Heavy Metal (the Dog Collar match where HM ended up bleeding like a motherf'er). Was it someone else? "He works in Tijuana and Monterrey regularly and recently did some CMLL shows." Yeah. I forgot to mention, Damien & Halloween team with Super Crazy and Psychosis/Nicho el Millionario regularly as La Familia de Tijuana. They're currently heels in CMLL, as ConspiracyVictim mentioned. If you're interested in La Parka, the real one (Adolfo Taipea) works CMLL house shows currently and was also in MLW. The asshole that is Antonio Pena (AAA's owner) has owned the TV rights to the La Parka name since before he was in WCW, so he's allowed to be the only guy to feature the name on TV. The La Parka in AAA is a fake one. The real one (Taipea, like I mentioned) works CMLL house shows and a few months ago, did a really historic angle in Mexico where in the ring he took off his mask and told the fans that he was in fact the REAL La Parka, the one who was in WCW and who is a Mexican legend. That's the equivalent of what we call breaking kayfabe here in the U.S. Juvi is in CMLL, I think. He also works for XPW and made some appearances in NWA-TNA. He has a web site in Spanish at JuventudGuerrera.com, I think, although it may've been taken down.

Interview w/ ROH star HC Loc
LucharesuFan619 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Still in the working. I haven't forgotten about it and am still working on it. It should be up in a few months, around the end of 2003. -
Ciclope = Damien's MMW partner, Halloween He's in XPW, Rev. Pro, and now MLW. Blitzkrieg made an appearance in APW before retiring. He's now working in the computer technology industry. Calo worked in ECW for awhile. Don't know where he is now. Silver King and El Dandy both work in Mexico still and are seen very regularly. Psychosis is in XPW and CMLL. The Villanos still work in Mexico, occasionally. Their father, the legendary Rey Bucanero, passed away earlier this year.

Bump.

Also check out the elimination match between Red, The S.A.T., Kid Kash, Elix Skipper, and a few others. It's a fun spotfest.

If you want the FULL history of the Raven/Punk feud, including exclusive comments from Punk himself, check out my upcoming article on NoHoldsBarredWrestling.com about the feud. It will be posted shortly after the 9/6 show. AJ Styles is - along with Low Ki and Chris Daniels - the unofficial king of the indies. He worked for WCW before it died. He has worked in Japan's ZERO-ONE. Some of his most famous opponents include D'Lo Brown, Jeff Jarrett, Chris Daniels, CM Punk, and others. His style can be compared to that of Chris Jericho and Edge. Homicide is similar to New Jack in that he's from the hood and likes cutting people open with forks, but unlike New Jack, he can wrestle VERY WELL. His past rivals include Steve Corino and Trent Acid. His style can be compared to Chris Benoit. Samoa Joe is fat, but he can wrestle quite well. He's similar to Chris Benoit in style. He uses lots of suplexes and submission holds. Mark Briscoe is a great wrestler, and so is Jay. Their styles are similar to Brian "Spanky" Kendrick.

Check out my recent interview with one half of ROH's Carnage Crew tag team, the one and only referee/hardcore wrestler HC LOC over in the Newsboard section of http://www.NoHoldsBarredWrestling.com. Any feedback can be posted here.

If you haven't seen all that much of XPW, it's pretty lame to make an opinion. Having seen almost every single XPW match, tape, TV episode, and DVD released, I can tell you that XPW's product is highly underrated. They've had a LOT of great WRESTLING matches and great DEATH matches. They have a GREAT roster, past and present, too.
-
MMW rarely botches spots and they can make anybody look good, no matter who they are. Hell, they made the Westsiders look good in XPW, lol. This is a dream match, IMO. The guys have very similar styles and it has the potential to be great.
-
That's why you should take a look at XPW. Their work in TNA was NOTHING compared to their work in XPW. Or AT LEAST watch them on Galavision each weekend in CMLL. That's free, but still they're XPW stuff is worth the money. They've had TONS of awesome matches.

XPW NEWS: Support Rob & Lizzy, TNA dark matches

After you watched all of part of one TV episode, and made a snap judgment in a futile effort to justify a previous bias, which was also a flamebaiting snap judgment. But that's another story for another day. The Gacy/Pogo thing is offensive because SPECIFIC, REAL PEOPLE DIED. There's a big difference between "groups being offended" and PEOPLE DYING. I will agree though, that the necrophilia angle comes close, because rape is over the line, and neither is making fun of fatal car accidents. That's the one time WWE transcended "fake goofiness" and did horrific shit. Let's just agree to disagree. I find Pogo entertaining and yes, while he's based on somebody legitimately bad, I'm sure if we all tried we could think of angles in wrestling that were as equally offensive. Plus, Pogo hasn't done any of those "burying kids" vignettes since his XPW debut in like early 2000, when some promos were shown on TV. He's now just an evil clown. He hasn't cut any sort of promo that would associate himself with Gacy since 2000. The feminine bashing in wrestling has been around and is still around. "I think thats the most ignorant thing I've ever read, and that includes all the bullshit the Wildside marks threw at me." Whatever u say... -
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I said not to ask that. In short, he was to work on a CZW/BJPW PPV and CZW was responsible for paying him. They agreed to pay him in advance (before the show, like so many indy promotions do with big name wrestlers to ensure that they show), but he was never paid. The PPV fell through thanks to that and the horrible business procedures of ADV Films, who was to promote and film the PPV. "Oh, and Last Free Voice, CZW is not all strictly hardcore." Same goes w/ XPW and IWA-MS, but so many people unfortunately fail to realize that and look at such promotions as just hardcore. "Hmmm....I think I'll go for ROH. Like someone mentioned, I'm more familiar with most of their roster, while I have trouble naming 3 people in XPW." Suit yourself, but like I said, they have a great roster full of big names and homegrown talent. They've featured Sabu, Jerry Lynn, Vic Grimes, New Jack, Konnan, Juventud Guerrera, Psichosis, Super Crazy, Shane Douglas, Terry Funk, Vampiro, and others.

Does anyone know when they debuted in wrestling? Any info...date, year, opponents, promotion, result of that match, etc.?
-
Here's a few reasons why: - b/c you get to see highlights of one of the most exciting indy matches of 2002, the Raw Sewage match - b/c there's nothing wrong with supporting a promotion backed by porno, since most wrestling promotions are backed by excessively controversial people, as described above - b/c it doesn't matter if they are an ECW ripoff, as long as they put on good shows. CZW, MLW, ROH, etc. could all be considered MLW ripoffs. - b/c as long as they have a good product, it doesn't matter that they're in legal trouble. If you enjoy their product, that shouldn't change whether they're in legal trouble or not.

These guys have very similar styles and this match should be very interesting. Thoughts? Anyone else looking forward to it as much as I am?

Considering the Raw Sewage match was one of the most enterataining indy matches in 2002, you've just put over XPW. Who cares if it's backed by porno? ROH is backed by bootlegging video sellers. CZW has had it's issues with legal violations (NJ commission, the Terry Funk incident which I'm not in the mood to explain, the ROH controversies, false promotions, etc.).
-
Sorry if this was already posted... Justin Credible told a fan at the 8/23 Fan-Slam convention in Totowa, NJ that he has left NWA-TNA, citing that he "ain't going back there. That place is shit." That's courtesy of the ROH board.
-
ROH tapes cost 20 bucks, unless you get one illegally. For like 15 bucks, you get two DVDs and an hour long look at the history of the promotion. WM costs over $24. About five hours of XPW stuff for $15 is a good deal. And who says you don't know who most of the guys are? Few people know who the Christopher St. Connection of ROH is, or Erik Watts of TNA.

Ummm...I don't think he's had underage girls in his movies. If he has, I agree with you, but I think you're making a judgment w/ out all the info gathered. Undertaker sacraficed Steve Austin with a steel cross. He tried to embalm Austin. Mark Henry was having sex with a tranvestite, according to the storyline. That's offensive. It doesn't matter if u haven't seen the necrophilia segment. it was very, very offensive to many. "While pogo's gimmick is a complete insult to the real life victims of John Wayne Gacy. John Wayne Gacy tortured, raped and murdered over 30 REAL people, how could that possibly be seen on the same level as the fake goofiness of the WWE." Is Undertaker sacraficing Austin not an insult to extremist Christians who are offended by them mocking Jesus' crucifixion? Is the Mark Henry thing not an insult to real tranvestites, who aren't promiscuous like they protrayed one on TV? What about the victims of sodemy and other crimes like that? The necrophilia angle was offensive to them, I'd guess. And if you want to talk about offensive, wrestling in general is offensive to many women because it portrays them as nothing more than trash and eye candy. -
yabut thats still not a "major" announcement. "Sonjay worked MLW Friday and still made it, so there's no excuse why B-Boy couldn't have" good point.
-
He worked MLW on Friday in FL and probably didn't want to travel from there to DE. "Apparently the big announcement was one (or more) additional Delaware show(s) this year." THAT was the "big announcement?"

I'm sorry, but I'm really going to have to disagree w/ the Grimes comments. The guy can work VERY well, and not only against small guys. His matches with Supreme were very fun. He recently had a great match with Adam Pierce. His stuff with J.R. Benson, who's pretty big, provided one of the most famous feuds in So-Cal history. Robert Thompson is pretty big and he's a great rival of Grimes. His match w/ Malice from XPW TV was very good. I was really surprised at some of the moves they pulled off, considering the size of each. Plus, it's not just his defensive stuff that's cool (i.e. how he can manhandle a small guy with offensive moves). He does high spots that nobody his size can do. Nobody his size uses a corkscrew somersault senton, an apron-dive senton, a flying leg drop, and my favorite move in his repertoire, a ropewalk leg breaker leg drop (only guy I've ever seen perform that move, big or small). He's a great high flyer for his size and can bump like mad. That's something very few can do (Bigelow, Vader, etc.). You don't see Mark Henry, Big Show, etc. doing moves like he does. I would agree that he works much better with smaller guys, but he can work pretty well with big dudes, too. "Let's not forget his insanely offensive gimmick" No more offensive than the Undertaker's old gimmick, necrophilia, Mark Henry's old angles, etc. -
Considering u haven't even seen it probably, Youth, it's pretty lame to give an opinion. All of the reviews of the show so far have been very good. 1Wrestling.com even put it over as a great show. You can see their review in the thread I posted in this forum on on one of the previous pages in this forum. For $14.95, it's definitely worth it, considering you also get two free XPW DVDs or VHSs if you order it. Check it out for yourself. Don't rely on others' opinions, especially those who probably haven't even seen it. The guy who reported on the show on 1Wrestling.com had never seen XPW and was very, very impressed w/ the PPV. "hey actually "wrestle" there. XPW is mostly blood and guts matches, and bad ones at that." Talk about ignorance. You're an idiot.

Pogo's a decent worker. He's really stiff, but guys that have worked with him (American Wild Child and Sandman among them) have said he's a pretty good worker. pogo is a decent worker = your a fucking idiot I may be, but at least I didn't just curse someone out for no reason. Pogo - although he's about the same size - is definitely no Vic Grimes, but he's somewhat decent. I like him more for the gimmick he has than his talent. Zach, was the APW show recently or back in like '98 or before then? He may've been less heavy back then, I don't know, but that may've been why b/c like you say he's not too solid in the ring right now.
