Quick addition...this match was for the XPW European Title, believe it or not (it was announced as such). Storm retained.

CREDIT: Wrestlinfan4eva A show that featured the SoCal debuts of Matt Stryker, who is IMO one of the best technical wrestlers in the US today, and IWA-MS Heavyweight champion Danny Daniels, who is one of the best mat workers, was one I couldn't miss. APW-LA put on a good show (not like the last one) with an emotional retirement from a "Gigolo" and a hot main event that was simply awesome and is for sure a Match of the Month contender. A few minor roadblocks were thrown at me, but I conquered them. I arrived at the building 7 minutes after 8, thinking a match had just finished, to see Steve Pain and Infernal in the ring with Lil' CHolo just entering. Cholo said some things to the 2 about not having matches tonight, so he decided for the 3 to have a match. This was a real good opener. Beginning was fast paced with the 3 trying to land their moves on each other. Then, of course, your triple team moves were involved. Dives to the outside, followed by pin attempts and more sweet moves. Ending came when Infernal was thrown the outside, Cholo then nailed Pain with a one of his finishers that I can't really describe. WTF? All of a sudden some familiar music hit that I haven't heard in a long time, Pogo The Clown came out and of course destroyed the 2 (Cholo left before he could be attacked). once again, WTF? Vennis DeMarco (AKA Vennis The Mennis) wnet up against Billy Blade. Blade used his lethal kicks on DeMarco. Ending came when DeMarco hit Blade with if I remember correctly, a somewhat of a front face Pump Handle Slam. Match was OK, but after following a nice opener you couldn't think much. Should have been the opener. "Faint" by LP hit and a guy I have never seen before came out (His name was Dana Lee). Slymm was his opponent. Match was fun, a David vs. Goliath match with Slymm dominating. Slymm hit his finisher (The one where he has them in position for a Fallaway slam, then swings them over into a Rock Bottom) for the duke. After the match, Dynamite D was gonna interview Slymm, but Adam Pearce (and Mr. Vanderpyle) came out. Pearce told Slymm to get out of the ring, then told him again (this time in "Gangster" slang). Pearce then slapped Slymm which caused him to attack him. Slymm then went after Vanderpyle and was going to swing, but Pearce, who got out of the ring right before, brought a chair into the ring and blasyed Slymm with it before fleeing the scene. Joey Ryan came out after and was set to take on Excalibur. Disco Machine's theme hit and he came out, along with Excalibur, who was in a wheelchair! Disco tolled Ryan that he severely handicapped Excalibur after he hit him with a chair while he was flying over the top rope from the last show. Disco then asked Excalibur if he can wrestle Joey for him, Excalibur, in a mentally challenged voice, said yes. Through out this match I was laughing really hard at the way Excalibur looked and what he did. I thoguht I was gonna die. The match it self good, some back and forth action from the 2. Ending came after Joey speared referee Rick Knox. Disco nailed the choken-breaker, but no ref to make the count. Joey managed to get up and attacked the Disco one. Joey positioned him on the top rope and hit the Duff Drop (2nd rope Neckbreaker) and we all thought Joey would go for the pin, instead, he brought in a chair and the handicapped Excalibur into the ring. Joey was gonna hit a Piledriver on Excalibur, but some how Excalibur regained his healthy self and hit a TIGERRRRRRR DRIVERRRRRRRRRRR '85 on Joey. Disco made the pin for the 3. Scorpio Sky and Scott Lost was a real good matchup. The 2 went at it back and forth. The ending saw Scorp hit the Final Solution on Lost, but he kicked out! Lost got up and nailed Scorp with his own finisher! Scorp kicked out! Scorp then rolled up Scott for the duke (I may be wrong on the finish so don't bitch at me). NEW APW-LA Lightweight Champion! Sky now holds the Rev Pro and APW-LA Light/Junior weight titles, congrats to him on that! It was kind of weird that Scorp won, I mean it just came out of no where. Good match! Before intermission came James Choi came out and started to blast Cholo. Cholo came out and Choi was still talking crap. Choi said look what he (Cholo) did to him (Choi had a bandaged on his neck and his arm in a cast). Choi said he still wanted to fight Cholo in their scheduled dog collar match. Cholo was leaving an Choi attacked him with a dog chain. He continued his assault before Refs and security were able to brake it up. Coming back from intermission, Steve Rizzano came out. He gave a very emotional speech. He mentioned that he had problems with his spine (If I remember, he had 3 herniated disc in his back) as well as some other things. Some wrestlers came out from the back and stood on the ring before Rizzano announced his retirement. Fans were standing up and applaudingRizzano, thanking him for his hard work. After that emotional speech, "The Brow" came out to face Frankie Kazarian. This was a good match. Stryker was good, but not what I saw on the ROH tapes. The beginning of the match consisted of 5 minutes of show boating! WTF? Kazarian hit the Wave Of The Future of the 3. Danny Daniels vs. Adam Pearce was a real good match, straight wrestling with only 1 dive added into the mix. Before the match began a fan kept on shouting things at Vanderpyle and Pearce. Pearce got the mic and told him if he shouted "Toll trime" again he was gonna leave, he continued; so Pearce and 'Pyle left. They then returned and 'Pyle got upset at the fan and wanted to start something with him (like all mangers do)> We then see a horrible, horrible sight when 'Pyle takes off all his clothing covering his chest *shudders*. The match was gonig kind of slow in the beginning, but picked up in no time. Crowd was into it, cheering Daniels on and booing Pearce. Ending was real good with Daniels almost getting near falls. Pearce managed to get up and distract the refree before he hit Daniles in the jews. Peacre hit a Piledriver and it looked like we might see a new IWA-MS Champ, but after the refs hand was about to hit the mat for the 3 Slymm came out and got revenge on Pearce. Pearce was able to flee outside. Daniles got on the mic and said he didn't come out here for a countout; he finished it off by saying its not over yet. We might see Daniels agaqin, YAY! Main event was just awesome. Definetly a match of the month contender. Beginning was fast paced, Dragon tried to take out Grimes, but couldn't get the job done. Match broke out to the floor with Grimes dominating; hitting a running powerbomb (not dropping Dragon on the floor) into one of the walls. Match went outside the building where I thoguht Grimes would do a high risk move off the U-Haul. Back into the building. 1 thing I will mention here is Dragon trying to German Suplex Grimes, but couldn't get him over as Grimes landed on Dragon's chest onto the floor, SICK! SD then put Grimes on a table outside, he climbed up to the top turnbuckle and hit a senton. After more sweet ass action Grimes was about to finish off Dragon before Pearce came out and attacked him. This led to Team Chsimo coming out and attacking Pearce, then Grimes. Grimes battled them off before Dragon was able to get a roll up for the win. Grimes then challenged Dragon next week in Oakland for APW's Halloween Hell. Dragon flipped off Grimes while leaving. Tape is definetly worth getting. We already know Grimes is a good mat worker, but if you want to see more of his non-deathmatch work this is the tpae to see. As I close for now I want to say I wanna see Grimes/Dragon 2!

Same here. Damnit. Well, at least I caught the Havana Pitbulls last night. And for those interested, LXW (LXWrestling.com) has booked Ultimo vs. Shocker for their card next month. I can't wait for that. And next week on Galavision, they'll be a tag match featuring Mexicos Most Wanted (who are also on the upcoming LXW show) and Super Crazy, so dont miss that.

Itll be wierd to see JJ in a Wildside ring...

They switched one the durcing the match, Ares & Double C were the two to finish the match. Stevie van Cool then counted a pinfall for the Beach Buddies, but he's not a referee, so referee Soulfly counted a pinfall for the SMH. GSW's president Schock interviewed AJ Styles and Cheerleader Melissa. Melissa said that she liked Germany since her father is German. Styles said that Germany was wothless and the best wrestling cards were in the USA. Melissa critizied Styles for this words and was attacked by the NWA Champion. He wanted to give her the Styles Clash, but Michael Kovac saved her, and brawled with AJ to heat up the main event. GSW Breakthrough Title Match - Special Referee Match (Special Referee: Crazy Sexy Mike): X-Dream (Champion) defeated Five Star Flash (~9:00) with the Shooting Star Press and slow count from Mike. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles defeated Michael Kovac (23:40) with the Second-Rope Styles Clash After the match, both athlets said that they respected each other. This main event was Match of the Night #2. International Impact was truely a GREAT show. There were no bad matches, and every match had certain factors that made then good, or even great. It's very difficult to say which match was the best, Dragon vs. Ahmed, Hero vs. Schwarz, Melissa vs. Wesna and AJ vs. Kovac were nearly equal. Surely a European show of the year candidate. Ron Harris is gone from TNA. He's joining the bandwagon of Randy Savage as Savage's agent-type guy for his new rap music career. No joke, even though it may sound like one. I swear.

I believe there's already an AAW, in Louisiana. I may be wrong, but I think youre thinking of All Access Wrestling...but again you may not be.

I didn't start a flame war here. Did I begin the confrontation? Yes. I threw a non personal insult out there, but what I got was about 20 personal insults. But the flaming didnt start till Mike posted - who made the first post 30+ line response in this thread? Not me. EMAX, your story means *nothing*. Somebody can be nice to some people and be an asshole to others-its a fact. You werent at the 8/16 show. I was. He was, too. So, you wouldnt know. Being a nice person doesn't mean sitting down next to someone for no reason and telling them that they're an asshole. Your cool with me and I hope vice versa, EMAX, but your logic is pretty poor here. And youre contradicting yourself. Your flaming me for no reason, so dont expect anybody to take anything you say in that post seriously. Ummm...why wouldnt I? The guy not doing the crediting here is Mike. You learned? Your flaming me in this very post. EMAX, u didnt need to post that response. You had no part in the discussion and instead jumped in to add to the several vs. one offense. Your testimony has no part here b/c of the immense # of flaws in it. Youre doing the same thing your criticizing me for doing.

ROH's 8/16/03 "Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies" tape will be released. This one features a match of the year candidate bloodbath pitting Homicide vs. Steve Corino plus more great matches including Low Ki vs. Dan Maff, Samoa Joe vs. CM Punk, Matt Stryker vs. BJ Whitmer, Chris Daniels vs. Xavier and much more!!! ROH is also releasing DVD's for the 3/15 "Expect The Unexpected" and 4/26 "Retribution: Round Robin Challenge II" shows. If you can't make the show you can order all these releases at RFVideo.com. All eyes are set on Glen Burnie this Thursday for what will be a historic show as ROH heads south of Philadelphia for the first time. Here is what's going down: ROH World Title Match: Samoa Joe defends vs. Jay Briscoe- The upstart Briscoe earned the title shot by winning a four corner survival on 9/6 that included Joe, AJ Styles and Chris Sabin. While Jay pinned Sabin, Joe has stated that he is embarrassed he didn't win the match because as ROH world champion he should win every match he is in. Joe has said that as a result he will give Briscoe a brutal beating to make him an example. Jay is not intimidated by the ROH world champion and has challenged Joe to hit him with his best shot. This one is going to be interesting and Briscoe could be one Jay-driller away from being the new ROH world champion. ROH Tag Team Title Match: The Backseat Boyz of Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere defend vs. Special K of Izzy & Dixie- This is a rematch of the finals of the tag title gauntlet on 9/20 and will mark the first ROH tag title defense of The Backseat Boyz. The issues between these two teams go way back and this one should produce an action packed, insane title bout. Special Challenge Match: Raven vs. Justin Credible- No one needs a history lesson for these two. These former world champions will lock it up for the first time one-on-one in ROH as they renew their extreme war. Both men are really looking forward to stepping in the ring against each other so this should be one that all wrestling fans will enjoy. Dream Attraction Match: AJ Styles vs. CM Punk- Do we really need to hype this one? Just look at this match up between two of ROH's biggest stars. Styles and Punk match up very evenly and this is the bout that diehard fans are paying to see. This should be wrestling at its best!!! Field Of Honor: BJ Whitmer vs. Colt Cabana- These two big men have a hard-hitting past against each other as they met in a violent, bloody brawl at ROH's "Night Of Grudges" where Cabana pinned Whitmer. Can BJ even the score. Even more importantly, both men are 1-0 in the Field Of Honor and a victory could secure the block. Field Of Honor: Chris Sabin vs. Matt Stryker- Stryker is looking to go 2-0 and Sabin wants to win his first match in the Field Of Honor. Stryker will try to use his pure wrestling skills to upset the exciting style of Sabin in this very interesting first time ever match. Field Of Honor: Dan Maff vs. Jimmy Rave- The heavy hitter of The Prophecy, Dan Maff, returns to action in his first Field Of Honor match. Can the power, head-dropping moves of Maff hand the youngster Jimmy Rave another defeat? Has Rave learned well from his lessons from AJ Styles? We'll find out Thursday!!! Four Corner Survival: Homicide vs. Xavier vs. Mark Briscoe vs. John Walters- The fact that this match is listed so far down the card shows just exactly how loaded this event is!!! Just look at the athletic talent in this one!!! Four corner survival matches almost always steal the show and with these four incredible grapplers this one should be no exception. All these men need a win to climb the top five rankings and move into title contention. Tag Team Scramble: Special K vs. Danny Doring & Josh Daniels vs. Sonjay Dutt & Slyk Wagner Brown vs. Dunn & Marcos- Maryland has never seen anything like tag team scramble action before. The unique match ups make this a completely fresh match filled with hungry competitors looking to make earn a spot in ROH. This will be high-flying, innovative action at its best!!! In addition to these great matches you'll also see Loc of the Carnage Crew, Allison Danger of The Prophecy and The Rottwielers of Julius Smokes and Slugger. ROH is looking to take the Baltimore area by storm so this is sure to be a historic and memorable event!!! Tickets available at the door!!! Looks like a packed show...the scramble will especially rule, although placing Doring in the same ring as Special K seems awkward...

The MLW news thread in this forum has a lot of talk about Matt Stryker's MLW alias, so I got thinking... What are your favorite aliases of US indy wrestlers, whether it be b/c they're creative, funny, wierd, wacky, so stupid they're funny, etc.? Mine include M-Dogg 20, Homeless Jimmy, "Hardcore Homo" Angel, Kid Romeo (I don't really like him all that much [i do sometimes, but not excessively], but his alias is cool), Sonjay Dutt (how can you not like a guy w/ the first name of Sonjay? It's awesome), Homicide, and Sabu. Yours? And if you want to expand it to international feds, too, go right ahead and mention Hi6, Summer Santa Claus (Quiet Storm), or whoever...
-
You posted again, after the I edited it. So, seeing as how you had entered the thread again, its quite wierd how you happen to scroll down and not realize that the quote box has gone from several paragraphs to a couple of lines long. The reason I mentioned you was b/c you refused to credit me for breaking the news of Stryker's new alias. You admit that you just confirmed it yesterday. I've known about it for several weeks and have posted it several times in those several weeks. Maybe youre unaware, but let me fill you in - Yahoo, Newsweek, EW, and even TIME - among MANY other text and online publications - publish stories directly written by the Associated Press. Not just using the info they learned of, but actually reposting the article from the AP. They credit them. You didn't. Under your logic, you're also criticizing those reporters who I'd assume you'd respect...i.e. DVDR/PuroresuFan's Kris Z (whose daily news postings are directly quoted compilations of other site's postings). He - like myself - devotes a section at the top of his postings for sources. He doesn't credit the sites anywhere else in his postings. With my TNA news, I credit the sites. I have a section for Observer news and Torch news, along w/ random tidbits that I've gathered from a variety of sites. That's why I have a sources section...so that I don't have to post the source before every single paragraph. I know that the DVDR readers and Kris Z fans (including myself) would be quite happy to hear that you consider his postings as "alleged." I know, though, that you don't think that way about him. What you're doing is setting different standards for each wrestling reporter on the 'net, depending on who you prefer and don't. Since you don't like me, any blind man could see that youre setting different standards for me than you would for somebody else with the same credentials, yet with a different name. Your credibility sucks. Read my response again. And this time, actually READ it. Don't assume you know what it says. NEWS TO MIKE: It's already happened. And the ironic part of this situation is that this "teenager" is a far more professional reporter than yourself, Mr. E-Mail Spammer, Flamer, whatever you want to call yourself. Yes, Mike. I "started whining." LMAO. This proves the non-existence of your credibility. I'm glad to see that you were spending your time "counting the number of times [i was] writing in [my] pad instead of watching an all time classic in Steve Corino vs. Homicide." Don't you see how much you're dragging this out? This is just another example of you living in the past. Accept it - we don't like one another. We don't have to correspond. My initial statement was harsh, I decided upon reconsideration. So, I edited it. Unlike you, I have respect for others, even those I dislike. That's why you didn't see me cursing and name calling in our e-mail exchange, unlike yourself. You've failed to prove that your story about Mantel was in any way original. Hypothetically, let's say you indeed learned of it from Mr. Bauer and not from myself. Even then, you're already several weeks late in posting the news. Somehow, I don't even see that as the case. Read my response a few lines above. Again, you refuse to tell the full story. I responded because of the personal insults you inclulded. Had I known you wouldn't even have the manlihood to accept them and instead had to block them out, I would've ended it right there. If you want to fault me for that, do so. To a degree, the NWA-TNA news are cut and pastes. About half of the TNA news I post I quote, but I do credit the source. Otherwise, I don't think I've ever cut and pasted anything, except for: - quoting PTW promoter Joe Gunns in an article about himself - quoting CZW's site's news item regarding the delay of their Italian tour (the delay of which really wasn't too long, as Zandig figured everything out faster than he expected) - and a few more examples where I quote wrestlers or promoters or other wrestling employees of some sort when writing a story that they're a part of. That's the same thing any other 'net wrestling reporter does. The purpose of my news posts - along with Kris Z's and others - is to compile the weeks E. Coast indy news onto one web page, so that fans dont have to go from 1W to the Torch to NHB to PuroresuFan, etc. Its supposed to be a compilation of lots of news items, so I dont see what the problem is. I seriously don't get what all the hate for the Maximos is about. Yes, they are spot monkeys, but am I the only one who enjoys the occasional spotfest? After all, how many times do you get to see moves as cool as the Skeeledriver, the Spanish Fly, Taffy Machine, etc. They never said they were great technicians. Like the hardcore guys in IWA/CZW/MAW, they stick to what they know (besides the 2/3 falls match vs. Daniels/Morgan, which really exposed the SAT). Its too bad awesome left, but he isnt as good as he once was, so I guess losing him frees up opportunities to hire younger, better talent.
-
I didn't. Nor did I ever state that I did. Maybe if you had bothered to read my post, you'd see that I solely quoted the part about Stryker, nothing about the Maximos or Awesome. I initially quoted the entire thing, so you may have seen that and *presumed* wrongly, which wouldn't surprise me. You still seem to be insisting that I was pointing to all of the news items, as is evident by your post right above me that was made within the last few hours. If you had bothered to read my post, you'd see I was only referring to Stryker. Who's the doofus, now? You've wasted an hour or more solely on trying to prove that I never posted these items when in fact I never claimed that I did. And it all happened b/c of your unwillingness to scroll up a few lines and check out my initial post. How about you use your time more efficiently? And to think that youre trying to paint me as an idiot... I like the way you change the whole story around. What you failed to mention is my response to you where I lambasted you for the constant shit you start. It didnt surprise me that you never returned to me that night, despite constantly looking over my way during the show. Nor does it surprise me that you changed the whole story around. Learn to accept responsibility for things. You started a war with me over email and refused to accept what you got in return b/c you knew you were wrong. Now, please stop invading this board w/ needless posts. We know you rarely post here as it is. No need to come here just to bitch at me. I kept your emails, man. Would you like me to post them and show everybody your fibbing? After you refused to submit a contribution, I was fine with that and wasn't going to reply back, until I saw that you called me a "moron" in the e-mail. By doing that, you continued a discussion that could've ended right there. Considering that I was the only one in the discussion trying to keep it professional, youre trying to lie your way through your mistakes. [qupte]hat were copied directly from my live play by play report from when I was in Lauderdale covering the show for 1Wrestling.com. ...and thats why I quoted 1W, stupid. You do realize you didnt have to reply right there. I posted in order to say that I had read it, but would reply later. You didn't need to continue your diatrabe.
-
Sorry for the double post.

Just read his pitiful response now. I dont have time to respond now, but I will later. ALL HAIL THE CUBS, BIYOTCH!

Screw that moron, Mike Johnson. I broke that in my column on NHB three weeks ago. Having met him, I can truly say that he's a moron on the net and in reality.

U reffering to the 10/3 show? And if so, they still had about a week to cancel their promoting him, but they didn't. I posted about Kashmere earlier today on NoHoldsBarredWrestling.com. If anyone finds any more news about it (I already read hte PWBTS bit), (ie a statement by CZW or something like that) lemmee know and I'd be happy to post it too.
