  1. Gabe supplies me w/ ROH tapes and he tells me when he sends them. I never get them more than five days after he sends, and often I get them in 4. That's good, not bad.
  2. I wholeheartedly agree. I wouldnt say a monopoly, but I think its getting very unfair coverage. They have agreements with Internet sites (1W, for example) that gets them extra coverage, yet CZW is still struggling with gaining sufficient web coverage. ROHs able to bring in big-names after a year in existence that promotions like CZW, IWA-MS, etc. aren't able to lure after 5 or even more years. The coverage they get on the Internet is IMMENSE, compared to other indy's which I don't think is fair. I was talking to Zandig (of CZW) one time on the phone and he said something like: "What sucks is that Rob and Gabe are getting this damn exposure on AMC, in local newspapers, on 1bob, and even in Japan after being around for a little more than a year (I had this convo a few days after the Jeff Hardy ROH failure match), yet were (CZW) nearing 5 years and the most publicity weve got is some bullshit feature on AMW and another local newscast, along with some BJPW stuff years ago." I think that says it best. That's not to say I hold Rob and Gabe accountable. If they can get publicity, then kudos to them b/c they're getting publicity for the rest of indy wrestling, too, but it is kinda unfair. Regarding the big-name issue...Granted, CZW's had the chance to get big names before, but not many times. The only time was with Funk and yes, they did fuck themselves there by failing to pay him like they had agreed to, but who else has given CZW a chance. Corino made up an excuse. Heyman didn't call back (I wouldnt expect them to). Mikey and Balls no-showed after 1 appearance. Dreamer was the only guy that followed through. Meanwhile, ROH has had Abby, Corny, Jeff, Lynn, Cred, etc.
  3. Although it's only been around for a few months, the popularity that ObsessedWithWrestling.com has garnered in it's short tenure online has been immense. Recently, webmaster Brad Dykens was forced to shut down the site due to financial issues and a lack of bandwidth, but the site has now been put back online and is - for the foreseeable future - going to remain online, thanks to a generous bandwidth offer from ClickWrestle.com. If you're interested, check out ObsessedWithWrestling.com for the Internet's most extensive archive of wrestler profiles available, along with loads of archived results, columns, interviews, wrestler photo galleries, and more.
  4. Here's results including the finishes, again thanks to the IWA-MS press release on its side... 1. MICKIE KNUCKLES def. RAIN with a northern lights suplex. 2. IAN ROTTEN def. "Barbaric Berzerker" JIMMY JACOBS (w/ Becky Bayless) with the Kentucky Roll. 3. "The Next" ALEX SHELLEY def. JONNY STORM with It Came From Japan. 4. DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) def. JIMMY RAVE with a jumping piledriver. 5. AJ STYLES def. JERRY LYNN with a three quarter nelson. 6. CHRIS HERO def. SONJAY DUTT with a jumping Hero's Welcome. 7. B-BOY def. NIGEL McGUINNESS with a shining wizard. 8. BRAD BRADLEY & RYAN BOZ def. "Spyder" NATE WEBB & JC BAILEY when Boz pinned Webb. Bradley had Webb in the Canadian backbreaker, and Boz came off the top rope with an elbow across Webb's chest, into a dominator by Boz, leading to the pinfall. 9. DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) def. AJ STYLES with a sitout tombstone piledriver. 10. "The Next" ALEX SHELLEY def. IAN ROTTEN via submission with the Border City Stretch. 11. CHRIS HERO def. B-BOY via submission with the Hangman's Clutch. 12. "Classic" COLT CABANA won a six way elimination match held under tag rules (only two men in the ring at a time). Order of elimination was "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON (w/ Allison Danger), "Kamikaze" KEN ANDERSON, M-DOGG 20, CHRIS SABIN, and finally MICHAEL SHANE. 13. DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) def. "The Next" ALEX SHELLEY and CHRIS HERO in a three way elimination match to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Championship, and become the 2003 Ted Petty Invitational winner. Before the match, Hero announced that he would put his Westside Xtreme Wrestling title on the line in the matchup. Daniels had put his IWA belt on the line in all of his previous tournament matches, and Hero challenged Daniels to put it on the line in the finals as well. Daniels agreed to do so. The first man eliminated from the match was Hero, when Shelley pinned Hero following Shellshock. As Shelley and Daniels then battled it out one on one, BJ WHITMER made his way to ringside. Seeing Whitmer potentially get involved in the contest, BECKY BAYLESS came to ringside to attempt to stop him from interfering in the bout. As Becky attempted to slap Whitmer across the face, Whitmer caught her, and set Bayless up for a piledriver on the floor, only to be cut off from doing so by JIMMY JACOBS. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Shelley had Daniels on his back, and was climbing to the top rope for a high flying maneuver. As Shelley ascended to the top turnbuckle, Jacobs had Whitmer backed up against the ringpost in the same corner as Shelley was. Jacobs came charging at Whitmer, who moved out of the way, causing Jacobs to collide with the ringpost, inadvertently taking Shelley's balance away from him on the top rope. Daniels then hit Shelley with a piledriver, followed by a second piledriver with Shelley's arms butterflied, and scored the pinfall. Quick questions: What's a Border City Stretch and "It Came From Japan?" "I think Ian working with both Jacobs AND Shelley gives them both "rub" and was smart. Plus, Ian is a ham and I'm sure he got some speech out of the deal!!! I don't believe ending a "Scientific" tourney with a bunch of interference is the smartest booking ever, as when I watched Les Thornton and Tony Charles, I don't remember a bunch of run-in's but hopefully it will build interest in whatever Ian's next show was, which I'm sure Ian tried to do." Shelley/Jacobs Best of 7 series begins in a few weeks, so there was no point of having them wrestle on this show.
  5. This post at http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=ST&f=2&t=44195 didn't simply post a link without trying to start any type of discussion? Stop being my biggest fan. Really, I'm flattered, but at the same time, there's no need to obsess over me when people do the same thing that you're bitching to me about. Hence, under your logic, most people on this board have at one time or another spammed. And it's not like I don't add intelligent discussion to the other threads on this board. I'm one of the most regular posters in this forum. On the other hand, it'd be much different if I just posted my indy column every week and never made any other posts. Face it, you simply don't like me and am holding me to different standards than you would to anyone else. The same goes for this dude... Do you want to start a flame war or something? B/c I'm pretty sure that Dames and the other mods have a rule about flame wars and how they're not appreciated. Of course, calling my column "shitty" isn't trying to start a flame war, right? Do something else w/ your time, peeps...get a girlfriend...play sports...get a job...and most importantly, get a life.
  6. Hell yeah!
  7. U don't like the sound of AJ vs. Lynn?
  8. http://www.theddt.com/messageboard/index.p...t=ST&f=2&t=1627
  9. Hopefully they'll include his World title win. LMFAO.
  10. Here are more detailed resutls, courtesy of the latest IWA-MS newsletter. And btw, does anyone know if there's a way to subscribe to that newsletter? I always have to go onto their site to get it. You know, the one that Stacy McMackin writes? Anyway... AJ STYLES VS. JERRY LYNN ON NIGHT 2! The show opened with a ten bell salute to MICHAEL LOCKWOOD, aka Crash Holly/Mad Mikey, who passed away earlier in the week. 1. "Barbaric Berzerker" JIMMY JACOBS (w/ Becky Bayless) def. SALVATORE RINAURO in the opening bout following the Contra Code. 2. NIGEL McGUINNESS def. BRAD BRADLEY with a dive through folding press. 3. IAN ROTTEN def. MICKIE KNUCKLES following the second Rotten Rush of the match. The bout was originally scheduled to be Rotten vs. TRACY SMOTHERS, but Smothers called minutes before belltime saying that he had a family emergency and had to turn around back toward home and would not be making it to the show. Rotten was to be granted a bye into the second round due to Smothers' absence, but Mickie made her way to the ring and said that she was trained as a wrestler, and if Ian had no opponent, she wanted to compete in the tournament against him herself. Rotten refused, and said Mickie would only be wrestling women from now on, and would face Rain during Saturday night's card. Mickie said she'd go back to the locker room without an argument, but "totally lost all respect" for Ian if he wouldn't wrestle her. After hearing that, Ian asked for the bell to ring and a very hard hitting bout ensued. After going toe to toe with her trainer, and surprisingly kicking out of several devastating maneuvers, Mickie suffered the pinfall loss. Post-match, Rotten and co-trainer CHRIS HERO congratulated Mickie on her determination. 4. AJ STYLES def. TODD SEXTON with the Styles Clash. 5. JONNY STORM def. M-DOGG 20 with a half nelson Michinoku Driver. 6. SONJAY DUTT def. "Spyder" NATE WEBB following the Phoenix Splash. Dutt also retained the IWA Light Heavyweight Championship by winning the match. 7. CHRIS HERO def. "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON (w/ Allison Danger) in just under 20 minutes of action via submission with the Hangman's Clutch, after first hitting Cannon with the Hero's Welcome. Cannon focused on the leg of Hero for the majority of the bout. 8. ALEX SHELLEY def. CHRIS SABIN via submission with the Border City Stretch, after first hitting Sabin with Shellshock. 9. B-BOY def. JC BAILEY after hitting the Shining Wizard in a brutal back and forth contest. 10. JIMMY RAVE def. "Classic" COLT CABANA with a backslide as Cabana was attempting to hook Rave for the Colt 45. 11. DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) def. "Kamikaze" KEN ANDERSON following a jumping piledriver. Daniels put his IWA World Heavyweight Championship on the line during the matchup. Daniels focused on Anderson's arm for most of the bout, capitalizing on Anderson's recent arm injury. 12. JERRY LYNN def. MICHAEL SHANE with the cradle piledriver in the final bout of the evening. The tournament will conclude with all of the remaining rounds tonight, Saturday, November 8th at Salem High School (located at 700 N. Harrison St.) in Salem, Indiana. Bell time is 7:30pm. Tickets for Saturday's show will be available at the door, at a cost of $35, $30, $25, and $15 for the four seating areas. Here's a look at the second round matchups for Saturday night... SONJAY DUTT --VS.-- CHRIS HERO "Barbaric Berzerker" JIMMY JACOBS (w/ Becky Bayless) --VS.-- IAN ROTTEN JONNY STORM --VS.-- "The Next" ALEX SHELLEY B-BOY --VS.-- NIGEL McGUINNESS DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) --VS.-- JIMMY RAVE AJ STYLES --VS.-- JERRY LYNN Also, in addition to the tournament matches, fans will see the following non-tournament bouts on Saturday's card... ***Womens Match*** MICKIE KNUCKLES --VS.-- RAIN ***Six Way Elimination Match/Tag Rules*** CHRIS SABIN --VS.-- "Classic" COLT CABANA --VS.-- MICHAEL SHANE --VS.-- M-DOGG 20 --VS.-- "Kamikaze" KEN ANDERSON --VS.-- "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON (w/ Allison Danger) BRAD BRADLEY & RYAN BOZ --VS.-- "Spyder" NATE WEBB & JC BAILEY Also, I want to give some really quick praise about AJ Styles. The guy is amazing, I wasn't at the show, but his match was said to be quite good, and he's going to work for another promotion today besides IWA, if I'm not mistaken (I think the other show is right near TPI), and then vs. Raven in CAPW tomorrow. That's what true passion is. He's not a wrestler just as a side job. He really gives his life for it. HAIL AJ.
  11. Ironic how nobody's supporting their answer and instead just saying it...
  12. It ain't lookin' too good for them...Johnny was booked to wrestle Robert X on yesterday's Hardway Wrestling show, while Acid was booked vs. Julio Dinero. Acid's match with Julio was said to be fantastic, but Johnny's match w/ Robert was...nonexistent. Robert instead wrestled Skeeter McCoy. Anyone have any news on why Johnny wasn't there? I really hope the BSB are on the same page. I thought Johnny was having prob's only with CZW, but hopefully it hasn't carried over to the BSB themselves. Also on the show, the CZW feud between Nick Berk and Adam Flash carried over to HW, as Berk pinned Flash to retain his HW HWT Title. On the next show, which is in Garfield, NJ on 1/30 - Flash vs. Berk for the title in a LADDER MATCH. And we all know how much Flash loves ladders...it should be great...but I'm still wondering about the BSB...
  13. http://noholdsbarredwrestling.com/columns/.../70259575.shtml In this week's edition: Final IWA-MS Ted Petty Invititational event lineup; tonight - Briscoes vs. SAT in DE; Raven/AJ Styles tomorrow; "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, Homicide, Credible, NOSAWA, + Abby headed to Japan; Berk/Flash CZW feud blowing up in other fed; The Night Hero Met Punk...Again (only in Germany!); IWA-MS star other than Chris Hero also heading to Germany; Kashmere/CZW; MLW; tidbits from the Wildside; ROH on TV newscast; Homicide/Corino ROH feud continuing; V-Rooss shoots w/ RF; more, including free sex (ok...maybe not...lol).
  14. 1. 9/3/03 2. Uhhh...nothing. He's still a regular in TNA. He appeared in the X Division Battle Royal on this past Wednesday's show and will wrestle Chad Collyer next week. He also works various indy promotions in the Michigan area, including Maximum Pro W (IWR), Independent W Revolution, Xtreme Intense Championship W (XICW), and others.
  15. ROH/RF Video owner Rob Feinstein conducted a shoot interview with none other than VINCE RUSSO yesterday in Atlanta, GA. The tape of the interview will be available from RF Video (RFVideo.com) next week. This is what Feinstein had to say on the ROH message board: "I had the pleasure to sit down one on one with Vince Russo yesterday in Atlanta GA and I had the opportunity to discuss the many topics that everyone wanted to know about. You will here what he has to say to his critics that say he ruined wrestling in WCW. The entire WWE story: how he got started there, the road to making Raw and WWE good again, politics backstage, his relationship with Vince and Linda, why he quit WWE, what his meetings were like with Vince and Jim Cornette, WCW politics, Ric Flair, Hogan, His booking philosphy, why he put the title on David Arquette. He talks open for the first time why he booked hot shot angles and short matches in WCW. There is so many WCW stories on why he did things there that this is a must see shoot. What is was like working with The Rock, Cactus Jack, HBK, Hall, Nash, Bischoff and many more. I ask him all the questions that you would want to know. Like why did he have Juvi and Liger do the match with the bottle. Why turn Goldberg Heel, Why did he shave Flairs hair and not Jarrett. What happened the night he quit the WWE and how did Vince react.....This is a loaded shoot and will be ready to order next week!!!!"
  16. In my fantasy world, Lesnar would battle Samoa Joe or at WM, but since that won't happen, I'm pressing for Benoit. Cena, Angle, Eddie G., or Mattitude (if he turns face) would also be fine with me.
  17. Sonjay has the potential to break out, as does Elix Skipper and Sabin, IMO.
  18. Give me their address, please.
  19. Again, your point has NO validity. The threads found at http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=ST&f=2&t=43714 and http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=ST&f=2&t=44084 and http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=ST&f=2&t=43592 also pimp upcoming events or feature results, without adding any extensive analysis of their own. A post doesn't need a friggin' diatribe to be considered legitimate, as long as it's relevant to the forum topic, which this is. Like I said, I gave my thoughts on the match, saying that it will hopefully be as great as their matches in other feds. Face it - you're wrong. To call me out on such a ridiculous point is to harshly criticize yourself and everyone else on the board, which I somehow doubt you intend to do.
  20. You're an idiot they never wrestled in a one on one match in NWA-TNA. Know your fucking facts. I never said they wrestled one on one in TNA, moron. They've wrestled there in tag bouts w/ XXX vs. Dlo/AJ. Who's the idiot now? Actually, you, because you never said anything, you basically just copied and pasted some other guys' news, much like all your other posts. What are u talking about? Everything in this thread that I posted was in my own news. Frank Iadevia (sp?) posted some short three or something sentence paragraph on JAPW.net about the match. I took what he said, put it in my own words, and gave my thoughts on it. Face it - the moron, SteveFranchise, was wrong in the first place and you're wrong that the above paragraph wasn't in my own words b/c it in fact was.
  21. Downhome, I love you. - Your New Best Friend, LucharesuFan619
  22. WWF/E: Austin, Bret, Undertaker, Hogan, Vince, Andre, Bruno, Rock, Piper, Rock WCW: Flair, Sting, Goldberg, Vader, DDP, nWo (Hogan, Hall, Nash), Dusty Rhodes, Rey Jr., Steiners, Road Warriors ECW: Raven, Dreamer, Sabu, Douglas, Cactus, Dudleyz, Taz, RVD, Sandman, Paul E.
  23. I fail to see the connection. Liz didn't die due to a gun. Where the hell does a gun hold relevance in this supposed "Is he guilty of murder?" debate that really was pretty ridiculous to be started in the first place?
