  1. IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling presented the first night of the 2003 King of the Death Matches on Friday night, August 1st at the IWA Arena in Clarksville, Indiana. Here's what went down... 1. JERRY LYNN def. "Barbaric Berzerker" JIMMY JACOBS in a non-tournament matchup when Lynn countered the Contra Code and gave Jacobs a cradle tombstone piledriver to gain the pinfall victory. 2. MICKIE KNUCKLES def. HAILEY in Mickie's wrestling debut. Mickie sustained a concussion during the contest after a brutal forearm shot from Hailey. As Hailey was going for a fisherman buster, Mickie countered with an inside cradle for the win. Post-match, Hailey powerbombed Mickie head first on a steel chair. 3. MAD MAN PONDO def. "Spyder" NATE WEBB (w/ BECKY BAYLESS) in a High Impact Tables Match. Webb hit a splash off the 2nd beam on the wall next to the Spyder's Nest putting Pondo through two tables, as Bayless watched on inside the ring. Just as Nate was about to cover Pondo, LOLLIPOP hit the ring and attacked Bayless. Webb's attention was taken off of Pondo as he returned to the ring to pull his former valet off of Becky. Once Lollipop was taken away from ringside, Webb it a light tube moonsault onto Pondo on a table, but the table didn't break, and Pondo stood right up, got on top of Webb, and gave him a piledriver off the ropes through the table for the victory. 4. "Mean" MITCH PAGE (w/ JIM FANNIN) def. ROLLIN' HARD in a Taipei Death Match. Rollin' executed the flaming karate chop during the bout. Page scored the three count following Turn The Page (his version of the Rock Bottom) after Jim Fannin sprayed mace in Rollin's eyes. 5. BALLS MAHONEY def. HORACE THE PSYCHOPATH in a Barbed Wire Baseball Bat & Barbed Wire Boards Match. Mahoney gave Horace a chairshot while standing on the ring apron above a table with a barbed wire board on top of it, knocking Horace on top of the table. Balls hit an elbowdrop off the apron through the table for the victory. 6. JC BAILEY def. 2 TUFF TONY in a Barbed Wire Tables & Electrified Light Tubes Match. Bailey took the 2 Tuff Driver off the apron through a barbed wire table on the floor, and several other devastating maneuvers, but Tony pulled Bailey up after the ref counted two each time. Finally Tony was going for the Driver off the 2nd rope onto electrified light tubes, but Bailey countered with a sunset bomb onto it for the win. 7. ALEX SHELLEY def. SONJAY DUTT in a very fast paced back and forth junior heavyweight non-tournament contest with his version of the Darkness Driver. After the match, ADAM FLASH hit the ring and joined Dutt in working over Shelley until JIMMY JACOBS ran out from the locker room to make the save. Jacobs got on the mic and said that if anybody was going to kick Shelley's ass it was gonna be him, not two guys from CZW. Dutt and Flash then challenged the two to a CZW vs. IWA tag team matchup for Saturday night. Jacobs and Shelley accepted. 8. AXL ROTTEN def. CORPORAL ROBINSON in a Fans Bring The Weapons Match when THE MESSIAH hit the ring and drove Robinson through several light tubes set up between two chairs. Rotten was on the outside of the ring recovering from Robinson's attack and didn't see Messiah's interference before crawling into the ring and covering him to get the victory. Robinson got on the mic and vowed he'd get his hands on Messiah for costing him the tournament before the weekend is done. 9. NICK GAGE def. DYSFUNCTION in a Four Corners Of Pain Match following a brainbuster in a pit of thumbtacks brought inside the ring. 10. THE NECRO BUTCHER def. "Mr. Insanity" TOBY KLEIN in a Fans Bring The Weapons Match with the Asiatic Spike. 11. IAN ROTTEN def. THE MESSIAH in the East Coast Thumbtack Death Match. Fans from the east coast brought over 176,000 thumbtacks for the bout. During the match, Messiah took Rotten's boots and socks off of his feet, leaving Ian to wrestle barefoot for the final minutes of the match. As Messiah was going to superplex Rotten off the top rope, CORPORAL ROBINSON attacked Messiah and gave him a 2nd rope Boot Camp, setting up Rotten gaining the pinfall. Messiah grabbed the mic after the match and told Robinson he wanted a match with him on Saturday night, and said he will put the CZW Heavyweight Championship on the line. 12. CHRIS HERO def. HOMICIDE to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Title via tap out after hitting the Hero's Welcome and locking in the Hangman's Clutch in the center of the ring. These two battled for upwards of 25 minutes of back and forth American strong style action. After the bell, DANNY DANIELS, who was suspended by IWA management for his actions a few weeks ago, gave Hero a piledriver on the title belt, and piledrove referee BRIAN GORIE as well. Homicide came to Hero's aid, attacking Daniels, until BJ WHITMER ran into the ring and gave Homicide a brainbuster. Finally the locker room cleared and security threw Daniels out of the building. Whitmer got on the mic and told Homicide that he wants revenge from Homicide busting his nose in New Jersey a few weeks ago, and would have no problem doing it in the IWA Mid-South if that's what it takes. A match was set for Saturday night's card between the two. Hero got on the mic and asked Rotten to make a match with him and Daniels for night two, but Ian refused, citing that Daniels is no longer employed by IWA Mid-South. Hero gave Rotten an ultimatum in response, saying that IWA just lost CM Punk, and if Ian didn't allow him to fight Daniels on Saturday night, he just lost Chris Hero as well. Rotten gave in and agreed to allow Hero to wrestle Daniels, and said it would be held under Texas Death Match rules. The show was filmed by Smart Mark Video, complete with backstage interviews after the matches. Commentary was done by Dave Prazak, Steve Stone, Nate Webb, and Ian Rotten. The footage shot by SMV will be used by Samurai TV. The tournament will wrap up tonight, Saturday, August 2nd, at the IWA Arena (1390 Woerner Avenue) in Clarksville, IN. Tickets remain in the $20 & $18 seating areas, and will be available at the door. Bell time is 7:30pm Eastern for Saturday's card. Here's a look at some of the matches that will take place on Saturday night... ***Fans Bring The Weapons*** IAN ROTTEN vs. BALLS MAHONEY ***Light Tube Coffin Match*** THE NECRO BUTCHER vs. JC BAILEY ***Light Tube Tables Match*** AXL ROTTEN vs. MAD MAN PONDO ***Barbed Wire Canvas/Light Tube Ropes*** NICK GAGE vs. "Mean" MITCH PAGE ***IWA World Heavyweight Title Match/Texas Death*** [Champion] CHRIS HERO vs. DANNY DANIELS ***CZW Versus IWA Challenge*** SONJAY DUTT & ADAM FLASH vs. ALEX SHELLEY & JIMMY JACOBS ***CZW Heavyweight Title/Grudge Match*** [Champion] THE MESSIAH vs. CORPORAL ROBINSON BJ WHITMER vs. HOMICIDE "Classic" COLT CABANA vs. NIGEL McGUINNESS BULL PAIN vs. JIM FANNIN Thirteen matches in all are scheduled to take place during Saturday's card. The stipulations for the finals of the tournament are multi-fold. The basics behind it are: No Rope Barbed Wire, House of Horrors Light Tube Steel Cage Match, with other assorted weapons inside of the cage. IWA will be holding a Q&A session from noon until 2pm at the Best Western off Exit 29 (Scottsburg) on I-65 on Saturday afternoon. Admission to the Q&A is $5, or free for those who are part of the east coast bus trip. It will be filmed by Smart Mark Video for release on its own tape. There will also be an informal fan get together (and some wrestlers will be there as well to hang out for a while) at the Hooters restaurant attached to the Ramada hotel on Riverside Drive in Jeffersonville, Indiana (right by the IWA Arena) from approximately 3pm until show time. Stop on by Hooters before heading over to the show and hang out with fellow IWA fans. It all wraps up Saturday night in Clarksville. Don't miss the crowning of the 2003 King of the Death Matches! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JC Bailey, Corporal Robinson, Necro Butcher, "Spyder" Nate Webb, and Ian Rotten will be wrestling in a death match tournament for the second straight weekend. Necro advanced to the second round of CZW's Tournament of Death 2 last weekend before being eliminated by Rotten, while Bailey, Robinson, and Webb were eliminated in the first round. Rotten advanced to the finals of the show before losing to "Sick" Nick Mondo, who thereby won the event. Mondo was actually scheduled to compete in the IWA-MS tournament this weekend, but pulled out of it a few weeks ago, citing the understandable concern of competing in death match tournaments two weekends in a row. Besides losing a gallon or so of blood during the event, Mondo also suffered a broken wrist. Until Tuesday, "Mean" Mitch Page's opponent was scheduled to be "Lowlife" Louie Ramos, but according to the latest IWA-MS newsletter, published Wednesday, "Lowlife" Louie Ramos has pulled himself out of the tournament due to schedule conflicts. Louie posted a public apology for the abrupt cancellation on the IWAMidSouthWrestling.com message board on Wednesday. Deranged, who participated in IWA's 2001 KOTDM tournament and CZW's Extreme 8 a few months ago, will replace Louie and will wrestle Page in the tournament. It would be interesting to have Axl and Balls advance to the second round, which would provide fans with an ECW-style battle between two former-ECW tag team partners. I doubt that it'll happen though, as I have a feeling that Corporal Robinson will advance over Axl. Don't take me up on that point, though, if I'm wrong. Most people are favoring JC Bailey to advance at least to the second round, but don't be surprised to see him in the finals, either. He's really starting to become a popular worker on the indy circuit and unlike many of the others competing in this event, he is also a solid wrestler and not just brawler. As for my prediction, in all honesty, I haven't seen any recent IWA-MS shows, so I haven't seen most of the guys scheduled compete before (besides Axl, Ian, Messiah, Necro, Klein, and Pondo), so it's hard to determine who I think would be most benefited by winning the tournament or who - based on who they're scheduled to battle - is most likely to win their first round match. However, after using the knowledge I do have about the workers booked in the event, I'm going to select Webb as the winner of the tournament after beating Bailey in the finals. QUESTIONANABLE BOOKING BY IWA-MS AND CZW I also would like to bring up the supposed logic of booking Ian Rotten and Messiah against one another, but that actually brings me to a more broad topic, because I also plan to discuss the logic of the booking of CZW's next show, which I question. Firstly, let's discuss Ian and Messiah's match with each other. Like others have alluded to already, I don't understand the logic in booking such a match. Hi-V (pronnounced "High Five") - the stable of which Messiah is the leader) assisted Ian in pinning CZW owner John Zandig at CZW Deja Vu 2 two weeks ago and then after the match, Zandig and a bunch of other CZW wrestlers chased Hi-V out of Viking Hall and down the street as the show ended. So, Hi-V seems to be not only be in opposition of Zandig (Ian's current arch-enemy), but also in full support of Ian. So, it's quite wierd that Ian and Messiah would be wrestling each other in a first round match. IWA-MS isn't the only promotion whose next show possesses some questionable booking. The same goes for CZW Aftermath, whill will occur on August 9 at Viking Hall. The highest profile match announced so far is what is deemed a "F%$k the IWA Match" between IWA-MS wrestlers Ian Rotten, Necro Butcher, Corporal Robinson, and "Spyder" Nate Webb. Plus, Zandig will apparently be announcing the stipulations of the match. Although pro wrestling isn't always the most logical form of soap opera (Why would Akeen The African Dream, a former-WWF wrestler, be portrayed by a white man and not a black man, considering he was supposed to be African?), a bit of attention - at the least - being paid to the storyline would be appreciated, yet Zandig doesn't seem to be following such a formula. Once again, like others have questioned, I am completely unclear on why the IWA-MS competitors are participating in this match, for a number of reasons: - Considering that a war between CZW and IWA-MS is occurring, it seems pretty illogical to have any IWA-MS wrestlers - let alone four of them - wrestling each other, unless it's on an IWA-MS show (which this isn't). The IWA-MS wrestlers should be busy waging battle against the wrestlers of CZW, not against themselves. - Why would the IWA-MS wrestlers - in storyline - even agree to participate in this match? They know - of course - that they should be fighting the CZW guys and not themselves (as already mentioned), but also let's not forget that this match will occur on a CZW show and not an IWA-MS show, which means that none of them should have any contract or anything like that forcing them to compete on a CZW show. Common logic would obviously cause them to just refuse to perform in the match and instead just do what they've been doing since the beginning of the CZW-IWA invasion angle - attack CZW performers. - Considering the match's name is meant to rip on IWA-MS, why would the IWA-MS wrestlers agree to wrestle a match with such a stipulation? - Fans already saw Necro Butcher pin Corporal Robinson a week ago in T.O.D.'s first round and Ian pin Necro in the second round. This makes me wonder two things - 1. why the first round match between Necro and Robinson even occurred, considering that - once again - the IWA-MS wrestlers shouldn't be fighting each other on a CZW show (unless they both won their first round matches and ended up randomly being matched up in the second round, which isn't the case with the Necro/Robinson match) and 2. why Necro, Robinson, or Ian are fighting again at the next CZW show when Necro proved he was a better hardcore wrestler than Robinson by winning their first round match and Ian - in turn - proved that he was a better hardcore wrestler than Necro by winning their second round match. If Zandig is going to be so illogical and book IWA-MS wrestlers against each other, then at least have them be someone like JC Bailey, Nate Webb, or Robinson, alll of whom were eliminated in the first round of the CZW event. MULTIMEDIA of the WEEK: - CZWWrestling.de has posted a video clip of Necro Butcher vs. "Spyder" Nate Webb from last year's IWA-MS King of the Deathmatches Tournament in the site's Media section. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA) - - MLW is proud to announce the debut of "The Original Playa' From The Himilaya" Sonjay Dutt for its marquee summer show entitled Summer Apocalypse when MLW makes its way to the Coliseum located at 535 4th Ave N, in St. Petersburg, FL with a bell time of 7:30 PM with a show to not be missed. MLW will take fighting spirit to the underground when it sets a new standard in violence with its brand of hybrid wrestling with an event not to be missed on August 22nd. Tickets are now on sale online at: http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/864566 via charge-by-phone at: (727) 892-5202, and at all Ticketmaster outlets throughout Florida. Tickets start at just $10! -------------------------------------------------- MLW BACKSTAGE REPORT FOR JULY 31 by Andy Vineberg Well, I’m back from Hybrid Hell in Orlando, Florida and I must say I was very pleased with the show and hope MLW entertained the hell out of all of you! I met so may people at this show and I want to thank you all again for your continued support of MLW and your interest in the Backstage Report. There are several people I’d like to thank for all their help before I get into everything. The promoting efforts of Dan Kowal and the street team were superb as always. We appreciate everything you guys do for us! Matt Lare – you are the man and thanks for making all of us feel at home. Tommy Borho for all that he does for us backstage, Nick Ruotollo– our timekeeper is doing awesome for us, Charlie and Ken are the greatest cameramen in the world and we thank you guys as well. Anyone, I forgot….thanks for your support and help! Homicide and Jerry Lynn put on a pure 26 minute wrestling bout in Orlando. Homicide got the best of Jerry this time in the young Lions Challenge but you can bet Jerry will be more than prepared in St. Petersburg. Homicide did some awesome promos that you’ll be witnessing in the coming weeks on the Underground. He is such a talented young superstar and is really making a name for himself in this sport and in MLW Hybrid Wrestling. It’s so great to see Sinister Minister and Mikey Whipwreck back together again – Their chemistry is something very special and really makes for some great TV as well. If you look up the word professionalism in the dictionary you should see a picture of Doctor Death Steve Williams. Doc has so much heart for wrestling and will do whatever it takes to make MLW a sure success. He’s an awesome athlete and the older he gets, the tougher he gets. MLW is so thankful that we have the Doc in the house! Samu is another individual MLW is thankful to have. Samu is truly an asset to us during the event and serves as a locker room enforcer. Not to mention, he had a heck of a match with his partner Eki (the former Jamal of WWE's 3 Minutes) and went to the limit with Da Hit Squad. In St. Pete they have a rematch scheduled in a falls count anywhere in the building encounter. You are sure to see some Tea Bagging in this one... heck, maybe even on the seat next to yours! MLW and its matchmaker are heavily weighing actions against World Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino for his hanging of Terry Funk in Orlando, FL. That went above and beyond the normal level of conduct for fighters and risked both Funk's health and a potential riot by the fans in Orlando. You think the Super Bowl champs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers are over in Tampa/St. Petersburg? Wait until "Black Magic" Norman Smiley enters the ring. Smiley is so over!!! He’s such an entertaining wrestler and extremely talented as well. He’s a first class guy and it’s always a pleasure when the Wiggle comes to town. Terry Funk and Steve Corino really have some feud going on. As you heard this week, it’s getting more intense as Corino is sending Jerry "the King" Lawler as his next Bounty Hunter to our next event. Funk wants more than anything to get his hands on Corino and win the MLW gold. Will he get that shot? Only time will tell. Summer Apocalypse, the title of our next show in St. Petersburg on Aug 22nd will be a wild one for sure. Funk vs. King Lawler – what more can I say. These two have had a long and bitter feud that goes back over 2 decades and Corino figures if anyone can take out Funk…it’s the King himself, Jerry Lawler. A spike match has been signed where the steel spike that took down Christopher Daniels for nearly two months will be in play when the Fallen Angel and Sabu meet one-on-one. I can’t wait until the intergender match when Norman Smiley and GI Ho take on Michael Shane and Francine. Francine and the nephew of HBK Michael Shane (yes, he insists on me calling him that even in the reports) are training extra hard for this one. Punk has also challenged Raven to a straight edge rules match. What are those rules? Punk isn't saying... yet. There's also Homicide vs. Lynn in the Young Lions Challenge 2, the Global Tag-Team Crown title match, and so much more. We'll cover it all a bit more extensively as we get closer to the big summer showdown in a few weeks. Tickets are now on sale online at:http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/864566 via charge-by-phone at: (727) 892-5202, and at all Ticketmaster outlets throughout Florida. Tickets start at just $10! Be sure to get yours today. The feeling of Summer Apocalypse is very similar to last September's Reload event with the buzz and stellar matches. Everyone is talking about this one and I too am anticipating this show very much. How can you not be when the King himself, Jerry Lawler is on his way to do battle with Terry Funk. And the chatter about some very interesting international names on their way in for the event. Who? Stay tuned. Rich Criado made a very impressive debut last week. He worked two matches and the guy has the mouth of Jim Cornette with the arsenal of someone from Michinoku Pro Wrestling. The Perfect Creation surly made a name for himself last weekend in Orlando. Fans at the show were very impressed with this young grappler. For those looking for more on this MLW newcomer, you may want to check out some of his work for Carlos Colon's WWC Puerto Rico group in the late 1990s when he toured with their office. The May 9 Revolutions, June 20 Hybrid Hell: Barbed Wired at the Beach!, and July 26 Rise of the Renegades: 2 at Tabu shows will all be available on VHS at the August 22nd show in St. Petersburg for just $20 each! All three were tremendous shows. Be sure to get your copies of MLW at its best! TV for next week will hot for sure: Corino vs. Awesome for the title, DHS vs. Samoans, and CW Anderson vs. Doc Death Steve Williams. I guarantee you this will be more entertaining than any other wrestling program on TV next Monday night. MLW is currently scouting several outstanding young heavy and junior heavyweights. Look for some new top talent on its way soon! Sonjay Dutt's entrance into Hybrid Wrestling is near as he makes his debut for MLW on Aug 22nd. I saw a tape of Sonjay last year and knew he was tremendous then and is leagues better now. MLW fans are really going to enjoy seeing Sonjay in action. Jonathan Figuero and Veronica Carrejo have both been let go by MLW. We expect Taiyo Kea back in December or January. He's been adding a great deal of muscle to his physique and is up to 270 lbs. Expect the Sun Devil to make a big impact in MLW Hybrid Wrestling when he returns. PJ Friedman had corrective orbital surgery today in Manhattan to further repair damage to his eye. He is still in extensive physical therapy for his shoulder and has yet to regain full mobility in his arm. The outlook on a return is not very bright at this point. Nonetheless, the cordial one continues to show his dedication to MLW by coming out to each event showing his support for us. Thanks to wrestletalklive.com crew for stopping by the show in Orlando. Guys, if ya get a chance be sure to check out GI Ho’s website atwww.hardcoreho.com. You’ll thank me you did, Also check out the interview I did on www.MLWZone.cjb.net. I discuss MLW, Extreme Horsemen, Funk, and so much more. It’s a good read. The Maximos are calling out every team in the world and how it should be very interesting to see who answers this challenge come August 22nd. In fact, we may know very soon. For 2 great MLW message boards, check out:http://pub56.ezboard.com/bmlwzone and http://www.mlwfan.com/talkback. CM Punk is currently on tour in Japan for the critically acclaimed Zero-One promotion and we've heard nothing but rave reviews of his matches. Congrats to the Chicago elitist! MLW has come to terms with a top heavyweight who will becoming a regular in MLW starting September 19th. Who? Stay tuned... Speaking of new talent coming in, expect a certain world class revolutionary junior heavyweight to make his debut this Fall in MLW Hybrid Wrestling. I am unable to tip off just who yet, but stay tuned to Underground TV in the coming weeks for more details. Mark down September 22nd. That's the kick off date for the new season for Underground TV. That’s all for this week. I’m still recovering from O-town – the town that seems to never sleep. Next week, I’ll have a ton more info and gossip from last weekend and have more information about Summer Apocalypse. Have a great week, my friends and thanks again for all your support of Major League Wrestling, Andy Vineberg [email protected]

  17. Head over to KrisKloss.com to listen to the interview with Kevin Kleinrock, XPW General Manager. Kleinrock shies away from no questions and answers many questions that have been looming in the mind of XPW fans and indy fans in general. Rob Black will be doing a shoot interview this week about the future of XPW. It will be filmed for commercial release. A partial transcript will be posted on XPWrestling.com
  18. Boy, that's some heavy lifting for Dragon. I'll definitely have to grab a tape of this when it comes out. DREAM F'N MATCH! DREAM F'N MATCH! I talked to Super Dragon the other day and he was making fun of M-Dogg, calling him "spaghetti-boy" and "a fruit loop." I was cracking up.
  19. Ian never said that, dumbass. There were TWO botched spots (the table and the the Kaos Cutter), you douche. Are you that stupid, that you have to make up lies about matches that you probably haven't even seen? The match was very good; face the facts. I'm not going to engage in a pot calls the kettle black exchange of words. Fact is - People take me MUCH more seriously than you.
  20. There are IWA-MS fans in Pennsylvania, too, which is obviuous by the posts that have been made on the IWA and CZW boards by fans saying they'd be at the CZW show to support IWA. Those fans, and I'm sure there's plenty of them, probably shuold've made up the number that didn't come due to the ROH show. "They're just CZW fans who are cheering for Ian and crew." There are IWA-MS fans that love IWA-MS and not CZW because of IWA's premier technical wrestling stuff, so they're not just CZW fans cheering for Ian. May of the poeple on the IWA board DON'T post on the CZW board which tells u something. That statement is absolutely ridiculous. "I wouldn't say that the CZW show was hyped more then ROH. ROH was pushing Death Before Dishonor as one of their "big" shows, their Summerslam or something like that. CZW had hyped this one, but not more then any other card. TOD2 was getting more hype then Deja Vu 2, until they let the Taipei announcement slip onto the net." I would. The only match that ROH was pushing was London's. They weren't giving Raven/Punk much hype, nor were they giving Williams' match much hype or any of their others. With CZW, they were hyping Ian/Zandig, Hatred/Gage, the Gauntlet match, AJ Styles, Reckless Youth vs. Mamaluke, and the tag team match w/ Acid. The keyword that you used is "until." The card was hyped quite a lot. "If I had to choose between Deja Vu 2 and TOD2, I'd take the deathmatch tournament over the oddly placed and poorly promoted Viking Hall card." Yes, but what you fail to say is that the show wasn't poorly promoted. They promoted it and pushed it quite hard (read above).
  21. I wasn't "gloating" about it; I was stating the fact and explaining that it meant anything but goodness for CZW. Just because I'm saying that it was quite negative for CZW doesn't mean that I'm "gloating" about it. My point about IWA-MS fans shuold have attended the show also hasn't been addressed. Someone, please address it. Don't forget that the CZW show was hyped considerably more than the ROH show (ROH's show was centered around London's last match; CZW was centered around Gage/Hatred, the IWA-MS wrestlers on the card, and Ian/Zandig). "It doesn't matter that TOD is at a bar. After last year's show, every blood mark within three hundred miles is trying to be there." There was also no bus trip for the other Sunday shows that CZW has run at Viking Hall. Comparing CZW Best to the Best-ROH doubleheader to this is wrong, IMO. They were RIGHT after one another. These are separated by a day. You act like everybody had to have to drive to see the CZW show; those that live right in Philly did NOT, so it would've have been as hard as you made it seem for them to get up and go to the show right after going to ROH. And how many fans are just CZW fans and not ROH fans. I imagine a fair amount. And EMAX, under your own logic, 250 for XPW's Friday show isn't bad. You're saying that what CZW got on Sunday is alright; Since Friday is as bad a day to run a show, if not WORSE than Sunday, XPW's attendance for that show was as "good," if not "better," than CZW's attendance (again, under your own logic).
  22. I didn't say only 250 came. I said only 250 paid. That's really bad. It doesn't matter that 150 other came. They didn't pay. The attendance was only 250. That's according to Meltzer, the same guy who was the source to all the XPW attendances that everybody suddenly jumped on. "And isnt it entirely possible that the show didnt draw well because poeple chose to save their money for TOD2, with it being so close to last Saturday? If you had enough money to got a PPV on Sunday night, or Raw the day after, which would you choose?" Understandable, but at the same time, TOD is going to be at a parking lot of a bar, not at Viking Hall. In addition to the IWA-MS fans who should've came, the fans that wanted to see the Tapei death match, the fans looking to see Hatred/Gage, etc., fans also would've rather came to a Viking Hall show than a show at a parking lot. I have a feeling that if they could only go to one of the shows, at least some would go to the Viking Hall show instead of TOD just to be at Viking Hall and its historic atmosphere.
  23. Dude, that was CLEARLY a joke. I meant no harm by it and that was obvious. Ryan posted that it was one fall, and so I played that off as being absolutely unheardof. I don't see what's wrong with that. As another person realized, it was clearly meant as a joke (they said it was pretty funny). That may have been an outburst, but it certainly shouldn't have a negative connotation, like you're attaching to it.
  24. Who wasn't able to make it? Mondo was there. Messiah was there. Zandig. Hatred. Gage. Ian. JC Bailey. Sonjay. Only major guy I can think of who didn't come is Ruckus. All of their major stars were at the show. They've ran on afternoon many times before. This is NOT the first time. "And in terms of promoting the Taipei Deathmatch, it was never officially announced, just leaked to the internet crowd." Yes, but by the message on the site, the stipulation match - even though the competitors were named a few days before the show - was hyped big time. Considering the amount of publicity the IWA-MS angle has gotten, you would've thought that an Ian/Zandig match would've gotten more fans. And you didn't address my point that IWA-MS fans are also into CZW now due to the interpromotional angle, so it would've been logical to expect that the amount of fans who didn't come because it was a Sunday show would've been made up (or at least nearly made up, which it wasn't) by the IWA-MS fans who came. Not to mention that w/ Gage/Hatred finally happening one on one, one would expect more fans. People - including some who've posted in this thread - were shitting on XPW when it got bad numbers on Fridays during its doubleheaders. Fridays are arguably nearly as bad, if not as bad (maybe even worse) than Sundays for a show to occur. It seems like some people are adjusting their logic to fit the promotion that's running, not the facts about the numbers. "It wasn't about XPW at all." The discussion me and ShooterJay had was, if that's what you mean by "it." Sorry about the TorC mistake.
  25. He has the right to his own opinion. Stop fuckin' torturing him.
