I REALLY should've just made it a solely CZW column this week, b/c I just added now on even MORE CZW-related stuff on its departure from Viking Hall.

Obviously, the workrate sucks. I never said it didn't. The reason to attend this show is because of the history/drama that will be prevalent with the ECW-style card.

I'd rather see Messiah v. Lynn. No disagreement there, but let's face it - Messiah isn't nearly on Lynn's level. By having Sabu also in the match, it won't be as strictly technical based as it would be with just Messiah vs. Lynn. Come on...you don't find the thought of John Zandig in the same ring as SABU and JERR LYNN? I'm not saying it's going to be good...what I'm saying is that it's going to be interesting...in a way.

Marking out is what one does when they see a dream match be booked. That's what I'm doing right now. And fuckin' B-Boy vs. Ian? Hell, yeah...assuming Ian sticks to the mat stuff, not the hardcore shit.

I agree about the Zandig thing, but I'm talking about Messiah, Lynn, and Sabu in the same match. That's a dream. I also could go without Zandig, though.

Speaking of Ki, his past appearances in the promotion hasn't sparked a contract offer from ZERO-ONE, contrary to recent rumors that have stated otherwise. Also, Homicide and Guillotine LeGrande will work in ZERO-ONE later this month and CZW's Nick Gage and John Zandig will return to the promotion for the final two "hardcore"-themed shows that are being booked by Kintaro Kanemura next month (December). Meanwhile, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson - who can be considered the complete opposite type of wrestler as Gage or Zandig - will return to NJPW when he competes in the promotion's "BATTLE FINAL 2003" tour, which will last from 11/24 to 12/14. Besides being scheduled to compete vs. - among others - Jushin Thunder Liger (in a tag team match, nonetheless), Danielson will team with Katsushi Takemura to participate in the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title Tournament that will occur on selected shows throughout the tour. - Two IWA-MS stars and one of the promotion's former performers will compete on upcoming Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) events in Germany. On 1/31/04, 11 months after their famous rematch in IWA-MS, Chris Hero and C.M. Punk will face off against each other in a rematch of *that* rematch and like in their last match, the stipulation will make their bout a ONE HOUR LONG IRONMAN MATCH. Hero has been working for wXw and other promotions in Germany during the last few months, while Punk - besides serving as a powerful figure in ROH and NWA-TNA - made his debut in England a few weeks ago for the FWA. This is guaranteed to be quite a contest and it most certainly will not disappoint. 1/31 will be The Night Hero Met Punk...Again. Also, Jimmy "The Barbaric Berzerker" Jacobs - another IWA-MS star (and recent CZW debutee, also) - will wrestle in Germany for the first time in his career, as he competes on the 12/27 wXw show. - The XWrestling "Revolution" show in Yorkshire, England on April 10, 2004 will feature Ted DiBiase, CZW's Nick Berk & Z-Barr, Chad Collyer, April Hunter, Slyk Wagner Brown, D'Lo Brown, Bam Bam Bigelow, Road Warrior Animal (Road Warrior Hawk was scheduled to appear on the show, but won't due to his recent death), Big Vito, Harry Smith (the late "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith's son), and the immensely controversial Teddy Hart. Also, Reckless Youth/Tom Carter vs. Matt Striker vs. Shark Boy has been the first match announced for the event, which will feature a Meet & Greet session in which fans can meet some of the wrestlers. - IWA-MS' Ace Steel is currently touring Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, as I've been hyping in the past few additions of this column. MISC. EAST COAST INDY TIDBITS: - Mark Magnus, Chris Cage, Demond "Morris" Thompson, and John "Tank" Toland (all of OVW) are the newest four signees of WWE developmental contracts. All four had been working for OVW. Also, two other performers - Brent Albright and Bobby Lashley - have been told by WWE talent scouts to report to OVW for training, starting 1/1 of next year. - In a dark match before this week's RAW in Boston, ROH star "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson made his second appearance in WWE in that many weeks. Danielson wrestled Arch Kincaid and although he was announced as being from Boston in order to garner him a face reaction, much of the crowd turned against him when he started to use too many scientific holds and didn't perform any major "sports entertainment"-style spots. This is just one more case of the general fanbase of this industry not knowing true talent when it's right in front of their eyes. - Rick Steiner will be headlining Harley Race's WLW show on 12/5 in Eldon, MO. - Some very exciting news for East Coast indy wrestling fans was released earlier this week. None other than ALL JAPAN PRO WRESTLING will come to the US to hold a mini-tour throughout the East Coast! The first show on the tour will be an interpromotional supercard featuring stars from both AJPW AND Ring of Honor. That show - which will be promoted under the ROH banner as "Final Battle 2" - will occur on 12/27 at the National Guard Armory in Philadelphia, PA. Firstly Sylvester "The Predator" Turkay said that he wanted to do something special for the 12/17 show, so he challenged Ken Shamrock to a match on it. Shamrock came out and cut a promo, saying that he accepted the match. Later on in the show, a three-man match between Frankie Kazarian (UPW Lightweight champ), Mikey Henderson, and LOW KI (making his UPW debut and only his third West Coast appearance EVER [at least to my knowledge; his first two were vs. Super Dragon in MPW and four matches at the 2001 APW King of the Indies Tourney] for the UPW Lightweight Title. That match will also occur on the anniversary show. The next 3PW show on 12/27 will pit SABU & CZW's ZANDIG vs. JERRY LYNN & The MESSIAH...Talk about a dream match... Fuck, yeah.

The X-Treme Title match sounds fantastic. Reefer and Sonjay in the same ring at the same time is a dream. And Deranged can't hurt, either... The Balls/Axl match will be a really fun ECW-style bloodbath. And I like the sound of Kruel/Diamond. If Diamond works hard, it could be really good. And Striker/Slyk? Hell, yeah. Today, class, we're going to learn about the formation of "if/then" statements. Let's start with a simple example - IF you call yourself a pro wrestling fan, you're in the area, you don't have somewhere else really important to be or something else really important to do at the same time, and you don't attend this show... THEN, you are a jackass. How's that for a lesson, kids? Without further ado... USA PRO WRESTLING PRESENTS "END OF AN ERA" SAT 11/29/2003 USA Pro celebrates the closing of the infamous "Madhouse of Extreme" (Queens, NY): In early 1997, "The Franchise" Shane Douglas, "The Beast from the East" Bam Bam Bigelow, and "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido decided to form a now infamous stable in wrestling, "The Triple Threat". At Heatwave 1997, Candido and Bigelow scored a big victory as a team. At the Elks Lodge, the very place that will host its last professional wrestling show on November 29th, Triple Threat members Bam Bam Bigelow and Shane Douglas did battle for the ECW Championship. On that night, October 16, 1997, Bigelow won the title. At Cyberslam 1998, Douglas and Bigelow scored a huge victory over Sabu and current WWE Superstar Rob Van Dam. In February 1998, Tammy Lynn Sytch arrived in ECW, and associated herself with the Triple Threat. She remained with the Triple Threat until January 1999, when Candido and herself turned on Shane Douglas, and thus ended the Triple Threat. Shane Douglas entered World Championship Wrestling on July 12, 1999 after signing a three year contract and not too long after that, Douglas, Bigelow, and Candido formed a group once again. That time it was short lived. After teasing a come back as a group at a QWA Show last year, Douglas, Bigelow, Candido, and Sytch are ready to come back in full force. Starting November 29th as USA Pro Wrestling presents End of an Era at the Elks Lodge, a new era will begin for the Triple Threat. Just Added: Low Ki will return to the Elks Lodge at "End of An Era!" For the last 10 plus years, East Coast fans have enjoyed many wrestling memories from a building located in Queens called the Elks Lodge. Also known as the "Madhouse of Extreme", the building was home for ECW in the mid-late 90's. From the late 90's to November 29th, it was home to USA Pro Wrestling. Unfortunately, this mainstay for pro wrestling has been sold, and November 29th will be the last ever wrestling event in the building. The closing of this building is truly an "End Of An Era". Ya...the move the guy described is an inverted fishermanbuster. It's the same thing as Brian XL's X-Clamation Point, only it's a non-sitout version. You slam your foe to your side, rather than in between your legs, although you do still sit down.

Kinda...Technically, it's a Side Michinoku Driver II, without the sitout. Rather, you sit to the side and drop them to your side. It's the same thing as Tommy Dreamer's Dreamer Driver, if you've ever seen that.

I just watched Super Dragon: Evolution for the first time in awhile and I'd definitely have to recommend that for the high-flying/stiff strikes type of fans. There are also great music videos on the tape and a classic match vs. Low Ki, among other great stuff. "Even Alexis/Becky is only like 2 mins." I was at the show and you're right, that's what everyone seems to be saying it was in length, but I swear to God it was so bad it literally seemed like 5 minutes long, and that's NO exaggeration. It was horrible.

Just came across this... MLW used my move list for its Sonjay Dutt bio. All the moves they listed are used just like they listed them. Guess someone in MLW has been reading ObsessedWithWrestling.com...nice...no complaints there.

Backseat Driver = Johnny Kashmere's singles version is an inverted facelock suplex lift into a stunner (Chris Hamrick's Dixie Drop, but with an inverted facelock suplex lift, instead of a regular suplex lift) The BSB's double-team Backseat Driver is also sometimes called the TRM, and it's a Double Hiptoss into a (they catch them before they hit the mat) Sitdown Powerbomb [Acid]/Neckbreaker [Kashmere] combo. They sometimes just ignore the hiptoss part, though. I've seen the clip of the B-Boy move you speak of, but I'm not sure what it's called, or if it even has a name.

Regarding the Chronic - I keep huge movelists for each fed, CZW, ROH, TNA, WWE, XPW, IWS, AJPW, NJPW, Toryumon, FMW, ECW, and some others and I have the Chronic listed as an Armtrap (Both of the victim's arms stretched behind his legs) into a Cutter, where Ruckus then lifts the arms and in the process catapults the victimi into the air and he ends up in a powerbomb and as the rotation continues, falls face-first to the mat, at which time Ruckus catches him w/ the Cutter. Sounds like Divorce Court = an Armbar DDT (Jeff Jarrett used to use a Tornado version from the middle buckle). It's wierd b/c I've seen the guys mentioned use many of the moves described, but never knew what they were termed. Any other info on those I asked about above would be awesome. Thanks again.
