The translation of FF6 rom totally blew the second best moment in the game. "Sir Sir"? Fuck that, Mr. Thou is in a whole different league. -
You can blame that on Square taking away the resources from Xenogears and tossing them towards FF8.

Smackdown games shouldn't have threads this early because all it does is get people overhyped and leads to the ever delightful "I'm not buying this game because _____ was cut out."

On a more pleasant note, RC Pro Am was a bitch to beat. EDIT: The Dracula in Simon's quest is too damn easy, the only one easier was SotN's when you used the shield rod trick. RE-EDIT: To further sum it up, Jingus just sucked and lacked skillz.

No..., it’s a great fucking ending that perfectly complimented the tone of the game. It’s also one ending you're not going to appreciate unless you've beaten the game yourself. There was a half second of anger upon completion that quickly turned into laughter and appreciation that you felt the ending almost as much as Chakan would have. To dismiss the ending for it not being happy makes me glad there's an ignore function, because you just don't get it.

Movies you've seen WAY too many times

Manos: The Hands of Fate over a hundred and twenty times last time I kept track. -
Battletoads, Ghouls and Ghosts, and Chakan are worthwhile mentions, though I did eventually end up completing the last two.

Left out due to UFC request. -
It was actually my favorite game the year it came out. Shame it sold maybe 20,000 copies before the price drop killing the planned sequels.

I'm going to build a time machine.

It's so bad? -
T-rex versus Rancor, or alternatively six raptors versus Rancor. Battle takes place at an outdoor concert during a moderately strong rain at around 8 pm.

Played Skydivers on Atari today, fun as hell watching the guys splat. Combat is still tons of fun in two player mode. -
So be honest, what do you really think about me?

Except for letting JSYK hang on his nuts for a period of time, Kotz is pretty all right. -

That's a non-licensed fighting game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm aware of that, just tossing the name out there for the people. -

"If by "good" you mean a quality fighting game the likes of an SFII or something--don't count on it. However, a friend of mine has nearly all of the Gundam fighters that came out here in the States and plays them a lot. I could ask which he likes the most of the lot. Although for non-fighting games he says Zone of the Enders 2 smokes just about every licensed mech anime game he's played." And Virtual On: Ontario Tangram for Dreamcast smokes ZoE2. -

If there was a concrete Zelda timeline, it'd probably go something like this: TMC, FS, OoT, MM, TP, TWW, FSA, ALttP, Oracles, LoZ, AoL. Then again, they've been readily known to change whatever they feel like at the drop of a hat, so take it with a grain of salt. Agahnim is either a guy controlled by Ganon or Ganon himself depending on your outlook, so any relationship to the "Evil Wizard" would be unlikely. -

Namco x Capcom is a game I really hope makes it over here. Hundreds of fighting game characters in a srpg sounds like a blast. Plus, any game that finally gets Morrigan a new sprite is great. -

Well, the sequel, Ghoul Patrol sucked but I still would have liked another game in the series. Man, what happened to Lucasarts? EDIT: "sucked" is harsh. Lacking the fun spirit of the first is more accurate. -

Viewtiful Joe will more than likely require the most relearning time. I'd go with RE4. -

You know who gets a lot of shit nowadays and really doesn't deserve most of it? Ted Woolsey. In regards to Final Fantasy 3 at least. FF3 had originally been translated in much the same manner as FF2, which wasn't a good thing (I've heard nearing Zelda 1 bad), until one of the makers of the game heard about it and demanded that a new translator was hired. Enter Ted Woolsey, a university student, whose first job for Square was to totally retranslate FF3 in less than a month by himself, while I believe he was also working on another game. Even upon successfully doing so, 75% of the translation had to be cut down to fit both Nintendo's strict guidelines and cartridge space, as well as dumbed down to better fit the younger demographic US games had at that time . And really, think about when the game came out and compare the translation to others of that time and you will see how far Woolsey still managed to raise the bar. FF3's translation still blows away FF7's, and you can really see how rough it is in comparison (“Beacause you’re a puppet”, "This guy are sick", and "You're a Turks"). FF7 was the crossover hit that made RPG’s a high selling item and increased the amount of resources available for translation and space, so coming down on Ted for not having the resources of today back then is silly. I don’t know much about the other games he translated, but don’t be hatin’ on FF3’s, it could have ended up like this. That all being said, I just recently started playing the 3 years in the making fan translation of the Japanese version and I’m digging the few new bits that pop up here and there(especially with Locke/Lock and the foreshadowing of Rachael), along with the slightly bumped up difficulty. -

There's also the insanely thrilling wait in line for 5 minutes to get some power-ups later on in the game. -

Think I mentioned it before, but oh well. No Mercy, both of us playing as created versions of ourselves in a standard match. Back and forth action through out the match with more than a few finisher kickouts. Around 20 minutes into the bout I start getting close to a finisher again, and I plant my friend inside the ring with a powerbomb of some sort. I taunt once or twice, then step outside the ropes on the apron to hit the attack that would set my finisher up, the diving shoulder block. I go for the attack a bit too soon, leaving me to crash and burn while he then slowly stands up and pins me without any further attack. He then made sure the replay aired at least 30 times afterwards.
