It's not like there anything going on between now and race day, though. What's happened between yesterday and today that's so newsworthy, they need an hourlong show this afternoon? And every other day this week?

I was just going to post that. Hello, three-game losing streak. Actually, that's a bit mean, he should be able to handle Florida on Wednesday. Atlanta and Edmonton, though...hoo boy.

I did pick the '94 Expos.

Mean Gene's classic "Aw, fuck it!" at Summerslam 89 is always the first thing I think of.
-
Trachsel in the AL? Seriously? He's not going to make it out of spring training.
-
I couldn't believe it either. That has to be one of the more boneheaded programming decisions ever.
-
I think he was just fired.
-
It's happened nine times. Florida State made it into the tournament in 1998 with a 6-10 ACC record.
-
This has to be the worst Duke team since the year Coach K went for back surgery.
-
I think it should. More and more teams play like Pittsburgh; if he can't play against a speedy team, he doesn't belong in this league anymore. Really, though, nails are being driven onto existing nails in Gill's coffin at this point.

It's even weirder seeing Faldo in the booth next to Jim Nantz. Of course, that pales in comparison to seeing Faldo in the booth next to Kelly Tilghman.

How often does a conference ever have more than two legit contenders? It's a miracle that the Pac-10 is even talking about putting 6 teams in the tournament after the down period they've suffered.
-
Does anyone know if a player has ever won the tournament and the pro-am in the same year? Mickelson has a chance to do it this year.
-
I don't know about Rant, but I can say they have conferences in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on occasion. I went to a business conference in Santa Fe seven years ago.
-
Watching the Georgia Tech/UConn game today, they put up a graphic breaking down the top 25 by conference. I was stunned to find out that the Pac-10 has SIX ranked teams. Wasn't it just a year or two ago that we were all saying the Pac-10 might not even get three teams in the tournament? Times sure do change in a hurry.

It looks that way on paper, but they'd settled on Tom Henke as the closer by the end of the year over Bill Caudill. Which, of course, turned out to be a spectacularly good move, as Henke was the closer for four more division titles and a World Series, and Caudill flamed out spectacularly in 1986 and was out of baseball a year later. Henke was just amazing in '85 -- if they'd brought him up earlier, he almost certainly would've beaten out Ozzie Guillen for AL Rookie of the Year. Henke exhausted his rookie eligibility before 1985. He finished seventh in the '85 RoY voting. http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/a...985.shtml#ALroy

I believe so. I know it was his first clean job, and I don't remember any others in his appearances since then.

What the fuck? SNOW in southern California?
CanadianChris replied to Matt Young's topic in General Chat
I heard on the radio this morning that Oswego County in New York (north of Syracuse) has gotten 7.5 FEET of snow in the past WEEK. That's just sick. -
Truth or Consequences isn't that far away.

With movies, I'm not that bad. But my backlog of TV series on DVD is staggering.

Well, that wasn't too bad. And a nice way to get caught up on the transactions I'd forgotten about.
