I was in Florida two weeks ago. It was funny seeing all the toques and gloves and shit coming out when it was in the high forties midweek.

They probably still will, assuming he clears waivers, which he should. TSN has a rumour of him and Rivet going to Chicago for Aucoin and Smolinski.
-
This is 100% incorrect. Yeah, seriously. 4-5 layers of clothing and no skin? No thanks.

Only two times they match up are at -40. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I could differentiate between -20 and -40. Cold, after a certain point, is cold. You should trying living here. It's -20 today, and it feels practically balmy compared to yesterday, when it was -40.

Wow, life is good. With the NUMBER ONE overall pick, Team Canada selects: Derek Jeter, SS, New York Yankees

I never preorder on Amazon because I'm always worried it won't get there on Saturday. For the last two, I've preordered at a bookstore and had the book home by noon. And then had it completely read 12-13 hours later.

I thought all the Bud Light commercials were good. And I laughed at the Nationwide ad with K-Fed.

CBS' coverage was excellent, as usual. I usually hate Jim Nantz, particularly at golf and college basketball (although in basketball it's mostly Billy Packer that I can't stand), but he's good at calling football games. I even liked the opening, with all the friends and relatives.

I timed it. Anthem time was 1:31. I think I did really well on these. It looks like I got ten right and pushed on another.

I thought it was funny seeing the Sens fans start booing Sundin in retaliation.

Macho Man initially scared the shit out of me during his first heel run. I've never seen someone that intense. Undertaker probably would have scared me when he first came in had I been younger. As it was, I was 16 when he debuted and he still creeped me out a bit.

Man, people are really oblivious sometimes.

I don't exactly remember, but I think Race went over to Vader right after Lex Luger jumped to the WWF. Since Vader was Sting's next challenger, it seemed logical that Race would go manage him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Rangers make a play at him. The Red Wings may have more to offer, though.

No, Doral is a brand new WGC event. The Match Play is in Tucson this year.

I can't remember women's tennis ever being so uninteresting. For reference, I started watching tennis in the mid-late 80s.

I said it not so much for the course as the quality of the field. But yes, Scottsdale is a really nice course. Actually, looking at the field, it's better than I thought. I take it all back.

Red Rock Canyon is actually pretty close -- just drive straight west and it's just past the city limits. Valley of Fire is another nice park to visit, about an hour or so north of town. Balloon tours over Red Rock are pretty cool.

I favour removing hits and adding SLG%.

This is one of my favourite months on the PGA calendar. After this week's (probably forgettable) stop in Scottsdale, you have Pebble Beach, Riviera and the WGC Match Play (not at La Costa this year -- maybe Ernie will show up!) in consecutive weeks. Also, the Tour is going to Mexico for the first time ever, in an opposite-field event the same week as the Match Play.

The trade deadline is on the 27th. Scott Burnside at ESPN.com says the Leafs would be better off trading Mats Sundin now.

The problem with Raines' candidacy is that he'll likely be compared to Andre Dawson. Most people considered Dawson the better player when they were both with the Expos in their primes, and if they don't think Dawson is worthy of getting in, I doubt they'll vote for Raines, either.
