My ballot, without justification for now: Gwynn Ripken McGwire Gossage Blyleven Morris Trammell Rice I highly doubt Saberhagen will get in, and I'm not convinced he should get in either, but I'd probably cast a vote for him too.

That was my thinking too. Michigan is a lock, and I don't think the Rose Bowl would want to stage a rematch of a game that was so uncompetitive the first time around. Plus, they'd probably have an implicit agreement with the other bowls as to who should go where -- especially the Sugar Bowl, who probably wouldn't want LSU when they already have the SEC champ.

Geez, Coughlin just threw Eli right under the bus at the postgame news conference. The Giants are not making the playoffs. There's going to be an all-out revolt sometime before the end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see it by the end of the next week, especially if Dallas blows them out.

Not that. He was getting popped at the end. Huh. Meltzer made it sound like the crowd just hated him.

Groom Shot & Killed By Police On Wedding Day

He hit someone with his car, though. That's a serious offense no matter what color the person is. Even if it wasn't a cop, because the guy had no way of knowing unless the police identified themselves, he still hit someone with his car, hit another vehicle twice, and drove off. That's still attempted murder. I'm not going to get into an argument over how much force the police should have used, but the guy definitely provoked the incident. Come on. Murder requires intent, which, although not completely clear, was very likely missing in this case. At worst, it's something like attempted vehicular manslaughter, but it sounds like it would more likely be reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or something like that. -
In a number of cases, that's exactly what you do. Even in the one you mentioned, holding and illegal blocking upfield is marked off from the spot of the foul.

The fuck are you kidding? The Broncos won't knock the Chargers out. They're 3 games up on the 7th best team with 5 to play, or the same lead that the Ravens have over the Bengals for the division and a spot in the postseason. Unless LT and Rivers both go down, they're making the playoffs. The Ravens can clinch their Division thursday with a win. The Chargers only have a 2 game lead on both Denver and KC and they already lost to KC once and they have to play both of them again. Please. They get both of them at home. They lost to KC by a field goal and they beat Denver at Mile High. They're going to win both of those games, and they're going to end up 13-3 at worst, with the only other potential loss coming at Seattle.

It almost happened to Colin and Christie in season 5 (the only season with a Yield on every leg, IIRC -- season 6 might have done that also, I don't remember), in the single greatest episode ever, but that was also a non-elimination leg. Were Lyn and Karlyn not aware that they were being filmed? Did they seriously think we wouldn't see them gloating about being about to Yield the BQs, then ten minutes later saying that being Yielded themselves was typical of the BQs' game and they hoped they could live with themselves for it? I said it last week, but it goes triple this week -- what a couple of fucking hypocrites. I hate them so very, very much.

Griese got cut to make room for Jake Plummer. That should tell you all you need to know.

The only thing I'm confident of is that the AFC playoffs will be epic, and the NFC playoffs will suck.

Holy shit, does ANYONE want to win this game??
-
Oh my God, Dillon fumbles. FIVE turnovers now.
-
Holy shit. Giants look done. Dallas should run them right off the field next week.
-
Tennessee's come all the way back on the Giants.

Ah, the Benny Hill music. PERFECT.

Louisville had better root hard for West Virginia next week, because I don't see them getting picked otherwise. LSU being above Louisville will give the bowl committee an easy reason to pass up the Cardinals. The only way I see them getting picked is if the Sugar Bowl decides Louisville will be a better draw than Notre Dame, which is a possibility. My bowl predictions as of right now: BCS - Ohio State vs. USC Rose - Michigan vs. LSU Sugar - Florida vs. Notre Dame Orange - Georgia Tech vs. Louisville Fiesta - Nebraska vs. Boise State
-
This is just unbelievable. Every time I think a team is going to put a drive together, there's another turnover.
-
They sure did a good job embargoing that.

That was one of the weirder interceptions I've seen. Watson catches Brady's pass at the goal line, but gets hit and the ball pops ten feet into the air. Matt Leinart had 400 yards passing, almost leading the Cardinals all the way back against Minnesota, before they remembered they're the Cardinals.

Big win this week. It makes last week's disappointment hurt that much more, though.
-
AP poll USC and Michigan switched spots, so it looks like there there's no possibility of a split national championship.
-
Heh, thanks. Nice to know some things never change. What an embarrassing loss by the Panthers. No one who seriously considers themselves a playoff contender should be losing to Washington right now.
-
Wow, eight sacks now for the Ravens defence. That's amazing.

Refute this statement and I'll tear you a new asshole

Seinfeld holds up at number one, and will always be there. The first two and last season of Seinfeld are hit and miss, but most everything from 3-7 is pure gold. Yeah, Seinfeld was untouchable until Larry David left. One he left, the show dropped off the map quality-wise, with very occasional flashes of brilliance. The Seinfeld series finale was the biggest letdown in television history.
