So the Kings gave up O'Sullivan and a 2nd rounder for a guy who's been on injured reserve half the season? Brilliant.

I tried that about 10 times. Doesn't work on my TV. -

But could I use that for video while simultaneously using the A/V cables for audio? -
PS3 won't output in HD with component cables

I was hoping to use that for video and the A/V cables for audio, if possible. -
To preface this, a year ago, my friend brought over his PS3 and it wouldn't display. I have a 5 year old 1080i RCA rear projection TV; no HDMI. I bought a PS3 tonight. I also purchased some 3rd party component cables. However, I can only get the system to output with A/V cables in standard def. The component cables have inputs for the Wii and 360 as well. I tried the cables with the 360 and got a perfect HD signal, yet everything's black with the PS3. What the hell is wrong? Why won't it output in 720p or 1080i? Would an HDMI to DVI adapter work?

Demo coming March 5th, as per 411mania.com.

No problem. I'm glad I didn't step on any toes. I wanted to mention the Lakers game, but didn't see any thread.
-
They're only 6 points out with 20 games left. Their main problem has been their struggles at home recently. I think the chances of them missing the playoffs are greater than their chances of making it, but there's still reason for hope.
-
I can't believe the Lakers lost 2 in a row, especially this one to a depleted Suns team that they whipped the other night. 3 games in 4 days does take a toll, I suppose. Alfdogg can post the schedule. I don't want to reformat it.

The Kings played a shitty first period and never recovered, once again losing a close one to a team they needed to beat in order to make up those scant few points needed to move into a playoff spot. Fuck me sideways.

Today is my first time outside of past highlights on MLB Network seeing baseball in HD, and it's White Sox/Dodgers. Can't get much better than that.
-
Why must the Kings, Lakers, and White Sox/Dodgers all be playing at the same time? I need a TV that does multiple PIP windows, or a DVR that records 3 things at once.

WWE SmackDown - February 27, 2009
Matt Young replied to Thanks for the Fish's topic in The WWE Folder
I've thought the same thing for a month and a half. Just wait till you see him with no shirt. I just watched Smackdown. It was a very good show, but they've blown their wad on a lot of potential WrestleMania or future PPV stuff. Mizorrison vs. The Colons to unify the titles could have been a Mania match. I was disappointed to see Miz and Morrison lose. I figured the Bellas would turn heel, and my favorite tag team could have both sets of belts, 2 slammies, and 2 women. But alas, it was not to be. Maybe they can still have a titles vs. titles match at Mania. Vladimir Kozlov (who, discounting the "I love double-double-E" phase, I've always liked a lot) and Undertaker had an awesome match. In any other year, without the previous 2 years' buildup to HBK/Taker, that would have made an excellent Mania match. The finish was one that I thought would work well, but I didn't think it would actually end the match. Bravo. Matt vs. Jeff... surprisngly, they held off on this. I thought they'd throw the two of them in MitB. Chavo/Shelton was awesome. Are they building to a 3 or 4 way where the Minorities Title might actually be defended at Mania? I like Cena, unlike many people here, but I was still happy to be surprised when he was pinned pretty much cleanly. Overall, a very good show. -
So, I know I'm the new hockey fan around here. But I've watched all 55 televised Kings games this season (including Kings/Wings which is on now), 4 games online that weren't televised, the occasional game between other teams, and I've attended nearly 20 combined ECHL and NHL games. The one thing I still don't understand about the sport is this- why do guys get kicked out of the faceoff circle?

Man, the 2K9 demo sucks. I have a feeling it'd be 1,000 times better if I could use classic controls for pitching and hitting, though.

Thanks for the link, PK. I just signed up. Now, before you read my results, keep in mind that before I got Netflix, I rarely watched any movies. Now I use Netflix AND have an HD DVR, so I watch even more than what's listed here: You have been a Netflix member since November 2008 and have returned 21 titles to date You most recently returned a movie on 27/Feb/09 i.e. about 19 hours ago You keep titles at home for an average of 5 days You see 6.7 titles by DVD and 39.7 titles by Instant Watch each month You've indicated that you are on the 1 at-a-time (Unlimited) plan which costs $8.99/month I don't know where it gets the 5 days average. I usually watch a movie the day it comes in and send it back the next. I understand that it calculates the time from when the movie ships to when it's received back at the Netflix place, but that should only be 3 days, not 5.

After gaining a point on 8 seed Minnesota by beating the Wild last night in a shooutout, the Kings got shut out in Philadelphia tonight. Dammit. They played a great game, but it was just one of those nights.
-
I LOL'ed at the ESPN headline, "Brooks, Dunn done in Tampa Bay".
-
Heh. The sound guys in Philly just played "Open Up Your Eyes" on a no goal call when the Flyers thought they should have scored against the Kings. When the refs did not reverse their call, the sound guys played, "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong".

I didn't play the full game of 2K last year, but based on my impressions from the demo, I thought 2K8 was a huge step down from the excellent 2K7. I plan to buy a PS3 in the next week or two, so I think my game of choice will be The Show, though I will try the 2K9 demo.

Hey guys, Braid is 800 points this week! LOLBBQsauce. EDIT: After playing the first 2 levels, I have no idea how anyone could get all the puzzle pieces without a guide. Half are simple; the other half seemingly impossible given the hero's limited skill set. Fun game, though. I'm happy with my purchase.

Good thing I saved my points!
