Just watched ECW. Striker's Austin impersonation was spot on. I couldn't believe WWE allowed Grisham to say, "The Jamaican's getting high!" followed by Striker's B.C. kush line. All that after Striker made a comment of Kofi's locker smelling like a high school art teacher. So many stereotypical Jamaican weed smoker references.

I did well considering I have more SD talents than Raw. Haven't watched ECW yet.

You ever play Eternal Sonata? No, but I liked the demo. I'm more interested in Tales of Vesperia. I've been holding off on buying the single player games, though. Those can wait. I've been buying the multiplayer games I know I'll play a lot, like Rock Band 2and NHL 09.

Madden, NFL Head Coach, and NCAA Football 2009
Matt Young replied to Matt Young's topic in Video Games
There have been several roster updates released. Favre was on the Jets in an update that was available the day the game came out. You have to enter into "Quick Play" for an online game (don't even have to play the game) to download the rosters. -
It's not for everyone. For people like me, the freedom is a wonderful thing. But some people find that freedom overwhelming and don't want to go exploring on random quests and stuff. They like a more linear game. Personally, I enjoy both. They're 2 different experiences. I love Japanese RPGs, which are as linear as it gets for the most part, but Oblivion is fantastic in my book.

I'll be picking up NBA 2K9, Saints Row 2, and then another game to exchange later for fable II. There are other games I want, including GH: World Tour and Fallout 3, but I'm happy with Rock Band 2 for now and I haven't finished Oblivion, so I can wait and buy those later on, no exchange. Not counting arcade games, my 360 collection has gone from 19 games prior to GTA IV, to 36 now. Yikes.

I know the preseason schedule started off on Sunday, but it kicks off here with Jazz "at" Lakers in Anaheim. More importantly, the Bulls play Dallas on Thursday, but even if there was any chance we'd be getting that game (there wasn't), the Lakers and Clippers play each other that night. Oh, and the Oklahoma City THUNDER~! make their debut tomorrow night. We also have some games scheduled internationally, as well as local games against international teams. They are listed as follows (all times Eastern): Thursday, Oct. 9 New Jersey vs. Miami at Paris, 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10 CSKA Moscow at Orlando, 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 Miami vs. New Jersey at London, 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 Washington vs. New Orleans at Berlin, 2 p.m. CSKA Moscow at Toronto, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 Golden State vs. Milwaukee at Guangzhou, China, 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 New Orleans vs. Washington at Barcelona, Spain, 3:30 p.m. Milwaukee vs. Golden State at Beijing, 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 FC Barcelona at L.A. Lakers, 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 Toronto or L.A. Clippers vs. FC Barcelona at Los Angeles, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 Lietuvos Rytas at Golden State, 10:30 p.m. Now for the 20 questions: 1. Who will win the MVP? Chris Paul. As much as I love Kobe, Paul should have won it last year. 2. Who will win the Rookie of the Year? I may be biased, but I say Derrick Rose. He's already playing for what should be a 50 win team (barring a disaster like last season) and he has the tools around him to work with. 3. Who will be the Coach of the Year? Maurice Cheeks, Philadelphia 4. Who will be named to the All-NBA First Team? PG: Chris Paul SG: Kobe Bryant C: Dwight Howard SF: Lebron James PF: Kevin Garnett 5. Who will be the NBA's Most Improved Player? Kirk Hinrich 6. What team had the best offseason? 76ers 7. What team had the worst offseason? Warriors 8. Which team will be the most improved over last year? Miami. Philly will better their record, Chicago even more so. But Miami was so far down that they will improve most. 9. Which team will be the biggest disappointment? Spurs. They looked like they were slipping last year, and I think they'll fall to a lower seed this year. The Suns should drop off as well. 10. What was the best offseason move? Philly signing Elton Brand. 11. What was the worst offseason move? The Clippers losing Brand. 12. Who will make the playoffs that didn't last year? Chicago, Portland, Miami 13. Who will not make the playoffs that did last year? Atlanta, Denver, Washington 14. Who are the best five players in the league, position aside (weak-sauce question, I know)? Kobe, Lebron, Chris Paul, Garnett, Tim Duncan 15. Who will be the division winners? Boston, Chicago, Orlando, Utah, Lakers, New Orleans 16. Eastern Conference Final: Boston vs. Detroit. The Pistons always seem to find their way in, and I think Philly and my Bulls are a year away from the conference finals. 17. Western Conference Final: Lakers vs. Jazz. The Rockets are a tempting choice, but recent history suggests they won't make it this far. 18. Who will win the NBA Title, and who will they beat?: I hope this isn't just wishful thinking, but Lakers over Boston in a rematch from last year. 19. Who will be the #1 pick in next year's draft? I have no idea, since I don't follow college basketball much outside of Illinois and the occasional UCLA game. 20. Make one bold prediction: The Spurs will be eliminated in the first round.

In an effort to provide more detail for those who aren't familiar with the sale, I am reposting this from Cheap Ass Gamer poster DrDarkStryfe:

Has anyone seen this for NBA 2K9? i found it via a Gamespot link. Looks pretty awesome, even though I just skimmed and don't know all the details yet: http://www.theotherseason.com/#/leagueHome

2008 NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Matt Young replied to KingPK's topic in Sports
Obviously, I want the Dodgers to win. But if they happen to lose, I can take solace in the fact that a guy I know from Glenwood High School, Jayson Werth, will play in the World Series. He's a good guy, and he's one of the only famous people to come out of Springfield/Chatham Illinois since Abraham Lincoln. The others are Kevin Gamble, my friends Chris and Jared of the band Augustana (the rest of the band is from elsewhere), and Lanphier High School (my dad's alma mater)'s own Andre Iguodala. Oh, and Jayson's uncle, former Angel, Met, Dodger, and World Series Champion with the Blue Jays, Dick Schofield. Dodgers in 6. -
I watched American Gangster earlier today (found no thread for it) and it was just fucking awesome. As far as movie stars go, Denzel is my #2 baddest motherfucker alive after Sam Jackson. Denzel's obviously a much more versatile actor, though.

Cool.

Yeah, I like Venk and all, but I thought from the beginning that it was a stupid idea since I figured it'd only cause more drama. But, to Venk's credit, he just wanted to get all this shit out of the WWE folder. I don't blame him. Way too much arguing, with many posters involved- myself included.

Wow. Some people's comments remind me way too much of what was said to and about me in late 2005-early 2006, the difference being that Noah wasn't stupid enough to reveal personal information like I was. While I never had any interaction with the guy until he made some comments directed at me and I got pissed off (and believe me, I thought he was a total douche), I PM'ed him, and he's not a bad guy. His message board personality is somewhat of a gimmick, an exaggerated version of himself. And even though few will admit it, a lot of guys on this board play gimmicks like that. Exaggerated versions of themselves, that is. I even did it for a while after the aforementioned debacle. All sides are guilty in their own ways.

The Haitian was there and he negated Peter's power.
-
That match was terrible, but the commentary more than made up for it.

In the L.A. area, MyNetwork TV replaced UPN on channel 13 when the CW started airing on channel 5. So it's been around as long as Smackdown was on the CW. Anyway... Khali and the kiss cam was great. So is the Cyber Sunday voting text only? It'll be beyond stupid if we can't vote on WWE.com. And while it would be cool to see Santino vs. the Honky Tonk Man (ideally much later into Santino's reign), we all know Piper will win the vote.

You know the underage girl holding the "I'm Matt Youngin' It" sign who was briefly in my sig last year? Arik Cannon repeatedly sent sexually explicit MySpace messages to her talking about how he wanted to fuck her once she turned 18. Creepy ass dude.

Wow. I thought Cena was only out 4 months from the time of the surgery.
-
I missed the last segment. Did they say when Cena would be returning?
-
Yeah... as much as it sucks to see the Sox lose, the Rays make for a good story. Very promising young team. They just outplayed the Sox in this series. The Sox' problem had been stranding baserunners, but they barely had any baserunners in Game 4.

Well, this isn't looking good.

Hey, Rob Anybody is awesome.

I already took his suggestion and PM'ed him. I was hoping for an end to this nonsense, but this will merely exacerbate the problem.
