FINALLY the Sox hold a lead and win a game. If they can pull out Game 4 in Chicago, it'll be a one game series.
-
Nah, there are dozens of streams that are advertised, but only a handful end up working. There's no way of knowing until the show starts.
-
It doesn't start for an hour and a half. I thought you guys got free PPVs over there.
-
Finally the White Sox score some runs after loading the bases with no outs. This is the 4th or so time in the series where they have loaded the bases with 1 out or no outs and they were lucky if they got 1 run in their previous attempts. The biggest reason by far that the White Sox lost the first 2 games was that they left double digit runners on base.

What was the purpose of that smartass comment? I know your gimmick is to be a douchebag, but I've never said anything about you. I was 13 when I went to my first WWF house show in 1997. I had watched the organization for 7 years prior, but could never get my parents to take me to a show since the nearest ones were Champaign (over an hour) and St. Louis (almost 2 hours).

My predictions: Matt Hardy Beth Phoenix Rey Mysterio The Big Show Batista Chris Jericho I want to say Jeff Hardy. With Hardy/HHH, it depends on placement. The ladder match will be the best match, but if Hardy's winning, his match should go on last. If not, ladder match goes last. If Jeff is getting the belt, I'd place the ladder match 3rd to last with the Women's title match in between.

The bird's just trying to get its 15 minutes of fame.

I thought wrestling "won" because, due to its predetermined nature, the business is more likely and capable of producing entertaining, competitive matchups as opposed to cards full of boring crap. That's why I prefer wrestling, even though I enjoy both. That's not to say the EliteXC show was boring crap, but rather that I have seen MMA shows that were. Happens in wrestling, too, though. Not trying to knock the sport at all. Last night's show was actually really entertaining aside from the main event. Oh yeah- I know I'm a noob, but I had no idea that Gina Carano was a fighter. I just knew she was on American Gladiators due to BL's signature. She's quite the fighter... and fucking gorgeous.

I don't know what's up with Green Bay. We've got Chargers/Dolphins (which I did want to see) and Giants/Seahawks (boo) here.

Yeah, you mentioned him on Xbox Live but you didn't say "Jake Manning". I know a lot of the guys from NMW since I trained there briefly and attended all their shows, although Jake started working for them after my training was done. He wrestled as Mr. Elite and was part of the stable, 4GQ. There are no videos I could find online of Jake in NMW, but here is one of him in another local promotion facing off against my friend Danny, also from NMW: http://www.vidilife.com/video_play_945481_...nning_Great.htm I haven't talked to him in a long time. I don't think I ever re-added him after my old MySpace was deleted. *goes to find him*

I feel badly for the Cubs because, barring a miracle, it seems likely that my grandma and grandpa will die without seeing them win the Series. Of course, that can be said about many people and their family members over the years. I am not rooting for them, but I can't really find much joy in seeing them suffer. Well, except for imagining Czech's reaction. But fuck, the Sox aren't doing much better. Bad postseason for Chicago baseball. It's the first time in 102 years that both teams are in, and they're both in danger of being swept.

Shit doesn't air here till 9 Pacific. It'll be my first EliteXC show. Combined with UFC 86 (which I missed when it aired) and this is a good night of MMA.

Madden, NFL Head Coach, and NCAA Football 2009
Matt Young replied to Matt Young's topic in Video Games
Do CPU franchises sell sponsorships and change stadium names? Because I played week 1 of the 2009 season in my franchise at Pittsburgh, and the game was played at "Snickers Stadium". -
Wow, I know "The Man Scout". He came up in Springfield's New Midwest Wrestling as "Mr. Elite" Jake Manning before moving to NC to work for Highspots. Good guy to drink with.

Man, I like Metallica, but fuck "Battery" in the ass. I got to the end of a 6 song West Coast Setlist (guitar on hard) and failed at 71% twice, and I lost the progress for the 5 songs before. I'll have to switch difficulties for this song, I think.

Oddly enough, I thought of BL after reading that phrase in the NHL thread. -

Happy 33rd birthday to the man, the myth, the legend- Black Lushus! -
I didn't even know the season started today, but I happened to turn on the NHL Network about 1 minute into the 1st period. Awesome.

I figured the difference would be much larger than that between those two, since wrestlers used to give such little effort at house shows that they'd sometimes wrestle in their street clothes until the company started promoting a more official dress code. Did you just make that up? I've been going to house shows for over a decade and have never seen anything like that.

He was still known as Hollywood, though. He had the red and yellow weight belt.

This. I could never hate the Cubs, simply because the Young side of my family has been comprised of diehard Cubs fans since before I was born. The only reason I didn't become one is because, since my dad left when I was 6, I only saw them on holidays and I ended up forming my own tastes. But Czech, while I like him most of the time, is insufferable in the sports forum (and half the time in music, but I digress). He's like my friend Jeremy who plays Gears of War all the time and ends up screaming out 1,001 variations of "Bullshit!/Fuckin' bitch!" at the TV and throwing controllers. It's like, I can understand getting somewhat emotional, but in the end, it's just a game. You should be having fun most of the time. If you're constantly angry/frustrated, why spend so much time on it?

At least the Sox managed to get 2 runs after loading the bases with no outs. Although, given the circumstances, they should have gotten more. But failing to convert in bases loaded situations was a huge problem yesterday.

No Griffey today against the lefty, Kazmir.

- Former WCW announcer and wrestler Steve "Mongo" McMichael (who was actually a member of the Four Horsemen for awhile) has been added as a special ref for the Four Way Monster's Ball TNA Tag Team Titles match at Bound for Glory. [PWInsider.com] My God, why?
