Damn. Shawn did win the belt at the Rumble, was scheduled to drop it to Hart at Mania, "lost his smile", did take a few months off, did return to win the tag belts with Austin, and did win the WWF title at Survivor Series. Russo just gave his shit away there.

Baron Von Raschke singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" = awesomeness.

There is no talk. It was just a guess I made following Regal's loss, but before Long appeared. I was posting my thoughts during the commercial break.

I found Virtua Tennis 3 on clearance at Target for $9.98. I had a coupon for $10 off any 360 game at Target, so I ended up getting this one for 77 cents after tax. I figured starting a topic would be pointless, especially with no Leena, but here are my impressions, copied from another board where there is actually a discussion of the game: I don't know about this game. My impressions from last night, when I cracked the game open and played for 4 and 1/2 hours or so: This game is awesome! I played through a whole year of World Tour, and I managed to gain 260 achievement points. The only problem was that it was too easy. I wanted to adjust the difficulty (which I now know you can't on World Tour) because I was winning 2-0 every time, and 90% of the time, the opponent wouldn't even score a point. Then I started up the game today and began year 2. My first tournament was a rank 204 and up (I'm #143). Um... What the fuck happened? I'm in the very first round (I've retried it 8 times) and I can rarely even score a point, much less win. I expected/hoped for an increase in difficulty, but this just went from Very Easy to Very Hard in a flash. It's not even challenging. It's just frustrating and cheap. I've been playing video games for 20+ years, and this game has the worst balancing issues I have ever seen. It sucks, too, because I really liked the game. But this ruins it.

I don't think we've seen Cena job this much in a 2 month period since he won his first title 3 years ago. That's not a bad thing, though. As long as they don't overdo it, I think it helps his character as we can enjoy his matches and not automatically assume Cena will win. Also, that image of a sweat soaked Randy Orton in his little tights with a big white glob on his lip was somewhat... disturbing. Makes me think of the aftermath of occasions such as this:

I was surprised to see regal lose. I guess this is how they will reinstate Jonathan Coachman as GM, since the story about him going to ESPN was confirmed to be bogus. You know what would be awesome? If Regal, as king, went batshit crazy. Convinced that the king rules over everyone, even Vince, he'd be standing before Mr. McMahon. Now remember, regal took his knucks with him. As Vince goes to fire Regal, he growls, "Yoooooooou'rrrrrrrrrrrrre..." and then BAM! Regal knocks him out cold with the brass knuckles.

I was certain they'd go to a draw and have a triple threat at ONS. But holy shit... That codebreaker into a Batista bomb was amazing. Batista is crazy strong. Shawn looks like he's stoned out of his mind.

I think Katie Lea is the hottest diva on the roster I still think she's hot. She just has the crazy eyes.
-
Something I just noticed- Katie Lea has crazy eyes. They're like a combination of Tara Reid's, and the eyes of a serial killer.

Angle/Eddie at SS 2004 certainly didn't live up to their previous encounters, but I liked it nonetheless. Truthiness, I liked the JBL/Cena match as well. It seems like it's gotten mediocre to bad review from the usual suspects, though- especially from the recently un-retired (as it pertains to PPV rants) Scott Keith. But I think he just hates JBL.
-
I agree completely. SummerSlam 2004 was single-handedly ruined by the Toronto fans, who seem to be the leaders of "proving how smart they are." Summerslam 2004 was also ruined by the fact that the matches were terrible. What match do you feel could've been a quality match if not for the crowd? Angle/Eddie and the main event were pretty good.
-
Nothing significant, no. They were only on the same show together for maybe a little over a year, and I think they were both heels the majority of the time. Then Batista turned face and began his title chase of Triple H. The one match I can recall wasn't even one on one. It was SummerSlam 2004, Edge defending his newly won IC title in a triple threat against Jericho and Batista. EDIT: Wrote that before seeing the post above mine.

Dandy, I do not recall reading that here, but I easily could have missed it. I didn't think about that. I guess it depends on where and when she went back in time. Maybe somehow, Danielle was not affected. I don't know. There are a lot of potential holes in this theory.
-
I don't know where they're going with the HBK/Y2J/Batista triangle, but I like it. the matches have been good, and it really isn't even clear who's face or heel. It seemed like they were going to turn Batista, and later Jericho, but both of them- and Michaels as well- have come off as faces at certain points and heels at others. I like the shades of grey, I do.

All they really have to do is have Orton beat the fuck out of Triple H with a chair or sledgehammer tonight to set it up. It's lazy, uninspired booking, but we've all seen much worse. Alternatively, Orton could make a deal with Regal where triple H is booked into a tough match, and near the end or after the bell, Orton comes out and destroys him. Regal then announces the ONS match. This could then easily segue into a HHH/regal program following ONS.
-
Yeah, but it'd make no sense to pair him with Regal right now. Regal/Kennedy seems like it should be slotted into ONS. And while I know Regal, as GM, could technically insert himself into a title match, I'd much prefer they build a potential HHH/Regal feud properly, at least till Night of Champions.

Toby, you're a genius! That is what the sickness was that Danielle talked about- the time lapses and eventual death (brain aneurysm?) that comes from it. They did come to the island on a boat, after all. and we all saw how people were affected when trvaeling via boat or chopper when they weren't following the right coordinates (which Rousseau's crew would have known nothing about). I'm sure that, to the uninitiated, the affected would appear to be suffering from dementia or some other type of serious mental disorder.
-
It's obvious that they're going to keep it going for 2 more weeks through One Night Stand. What's so bad about the feud, anyway?
-
You guys suck. I want so badly to know what's going to happen, but the few times I've ever read spoilers, for anything, I've always regretted it. It's going to be a long 10 days. Perhaps I need to stay out of any Lost discussions on the boards I go to so I don't succumb to temptation.
-
It was never even announced. Good to know you had a good time there. The card turned out so much better than it looked on paper. Did you go with the wife, some friends, and/or maybe Carnival? I see him browing the thread right now. I have a feeling he wouldn't miss a WWE PPV in Omaha. And this is the first time I've seen him on TSM in a month or so.
