Well I ended up upgrading to MVP '05 due to the recommendations of people I know and on the board and I just suck at hitting. I have it on All-Star but can't ever seem to smack a home run. I get lots of singles and get about 11 hits a game but the computer beats me when they are able to hit a home run. It's just frustrating to be playing 1-0 games. Any tips? (I play with the Reds by the way).

It's reasons like this that I hate the way our political system has evolved. If you aren't lock step with the wackos on either side then they want to ban you from "debating" (and I use that term loosely). The exclusion of voices like Paul's, even though he doesn't stand a great chance at winning the nomination, only hurts our political system. It's like when Democrats were challenging Nader's name on the ballot during the last presidential election with one female Democratic official going as far as to say "Nader shouldn't be allowed to be on the ballot because he's a spoiler." RIGHT...even though Nader qualifies as a spoiler people should still be able to have the right to vote for him (as I did) and people shouldn't be forced to have to vote for the Republocrats all the time.

I remember in the 2000 primary that Bush was asked by Brit Hume in a Fox debate "Governor Bush what do you read for your news in the morning?" I remember spitting the soda out of my mouth when I heard that because it was so funny and ridiculous that such a question was being asked in a presidential debate.

Well regardless of whether or not we can make it out of the WCF I'm happy to see the Jazz advance there for the first time since 1998. We got a break when Dallas got eliminated and were able to capitalize so now maybe we can get some magic going and advance to the finals.

The trans fat thing is a little tougher to justify, but I have no problem with taking cigarette smoke out of public, and neither should you. Unless you're dumb. Well on cigarettes let me rephrase my stance: I have no problem if the government gets rid of it in their public buildings since they own them but when the government starts telling private businesses that they can't have cigarette smoking that's where I have a problem. If people don't like establishments that allow smoking don't go to them and maybe if enough people do that then the owners will realize that they are losing money and ban smoking themselves. To make that choice for them screams of paternalism and it is something I can't stand. And the last thing I want is a Bloomberg-Hagel ticket taking a sizeable amount of votes and have a strong independent swing another election into the hands of the Clinton family. That's weird since I usually like independent candidates and am registered independent but I REALLY don't like Hillary Clinton.
-
I don't see how a Bloomberg/Hagel ticket could survive the GOP primary. Also, I'm not a Bloomberg fan with his "wars" against trans-fat and smoking in New York City so the last thing I want him to do is win the White House and start instituting these controls "that are good for us" across the board.

I agree with you 100%. I love how the Spurs are everyone's heels in these playoffs (with the exception of the Cleveland Cavaliers for some I guess). I was very impressed with the resolve I saw again out of the Jazz tonight. It's frustrating as Jazz fan never getting to see their games on TV during the regular season but it's rewarding to finally see the pieces of the puzzle start coming together after the last few seasons where we missed the playoffs. I was thinking the Conference Semis would be as far as we got after having a flat finish at the end of the regular season so being within one game of the Conference Finals is pretty awesome.

Yea, I agree that '04 was the best but I hated those damn custom courses in the season mode. I never could shoot good scores on them. -

All of the games I listed are PS2 (which I initially forgot to add in my post...what an idiot I am). The game has 7 courses. 4 are real and 3 are created: *Pebble Beach *Princeville Resort *Royal Birkdale *TPC at Sawgrass *Copperhead Canyon *Black Rock Cove *Tiger's Dream 18 -

I have some older sports games I need to get rid of and was just wondering if people think these have any value or if I should just throw them out. They are for the PS2. Here's a list of them: NBA Live 2005 Madden 2003 NCAA Football 2003 NCAA Football 2002 NHL 2001 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2002 MVP Baseball 2004 Smackdown: Know Your Role -
Because this runs of the risk of Tiger, Vijay, Phil, etc. of screwing up one of the opening tournaments and not getting to the next round and thus equaling poor ratings. I hate it as much as you do but you have to look at it from Finchem's perspective. Good win by Phil today at the Players, looks like working with Harmon is already paying off. However, the real test will be at the U.S. Open and if he can overcome his demons there to finally win one to add to his career resume. I guess ESPN tomorrow will be debating "Is Phil ready to challenge Tiger?!?!?!"
-
Totally agree. I don't have a clue what makes this playoff so great under the current format and have been confused since Finchem announced it. The chance that a player who starts 144th can work his way up the standings within a month is ridiculous and I do not think that its possible. There are WAY too many spots in the playoff to begin with anyway. It should've been around 100 or so.

So true even though LeBron has had the easiest road to the conference finals of any team that is currently battling right now in the playoffs. As a Utah fan it's rewarding to be up 2-0 since we haven't been in the playoffs in a few years and I had to stress myself out over the Houston series. Last night's game was so frustrating with Golden State constantly coming back with three pointers all over the floor but we were able to pull it out. I hope Dee Brown isn't too shaken up from last night though. I was watching the game with a friend of mine from Oakland who roots for the Warriors and when Derek Fisher arrived in the arena he looked at me and said "What is this? Is Derek Fisher channeling Bill Goldberg or something?"
-
Playing Golden State is so frustrating because just when you think your team can pull away they start jacking up threes and nailing them on possession after possession.
-
The reaction of the guys on the cam to Edge coming out is hilarious.

Mark Cuban has to be pulling all of the hair out of his head right now after this playoff defeat. I wouldn't be shocked if Avery was made the scapegoat and ran out of town even though Dirk definitely didn't play to his potential in this series. I'm still shocked at what I just saw. Even with Golden State having the series lead part of me thought Dallas could still wake up and put it together but it never happened. I thought tonight's Game 6 would be another close battle with Dallas finding a way to win in the end but the blowout just blew me away. Baron Davis could do no wrong in this series aside from the Game 2 ejection so hats off to Golden State and those that picked them to win the series.
-
What did Cuban just mouth to the camera?
-
I guess in hindsight Dallas should've played their starters at the end of the regular season to try to eliminate Golden State. Edit: I've also got to give it up to the Warriors fans. They personified what home court advantage is in this series.
-
I expected Golden State to give this a good effort tonight but I thought the game would be close, not a Golden State team holding a 25 point lead with less than 4:30 to go. Now if my Jazz can navigate past the Rockets on Saturday we have a decent shot at getting to the Conference finals. I'm pretty excited. Anyone have some quick comments on what this loss might mean for Dallas in the offseason?

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8...;show_article=1 It'll be really interesting how this affects the 2008 presidential election. The majority of Americans favored a ban on partial birth abortion but did not favor a ban on all abortions so the political fallout might not be as big for Democrats as expected. Nevertheless, this was a pretty interesting decision when I woke up this morning because I thought Anthony Kennedy might vote with the more liberal members on the bench.
-
I know the Golden State crowd is going to be absolutley nuclear for Game 6. If the Warriors can utilize that 6th man like they did in Games 3 & 4 Dallas might be in a bit of trouble. Charles Barkley must be happy about this new development.
-
Golden State just got too nervous at the end of this game. They got into the habit of killing too much clock and not getting quality shots and their decision to keep jacking some three's when they were only down by one late in the game also didn't aid their cause. I think this game is gonna give Dallas some extra momentum going into Golden State but that game will be the Warrior's last stand so they had better win if they want to go to round 2.
-
Looks like we're heading to Oakland for Game 6. Talk about a momentum swing.
-
Told ya about the drive down the lane but thankfully for Golden State that free throw didn't fall. Golden State still needs to get a bucket. They are killing clock with no beneficial baskets.
