Mr. Gore is already on the podium(droppin' bombs!)...anybody who wants to comment here's your thread.....
-
This post can be yanked as soon as I get some information...I didn't watch Raw so if anybody can summerize Lawlers comments about Ric Flairs book or point me in the right direction for a recap I would appreciate it...and I wanted to know if anybody has the Hardy's book and what it was that was so controversial about what they said(in detail please..I'm a demanding jerk I know but I want to know if it's worth picking up). Thanks!

Word SURRFF....TUUURFFFF!

Hhmmm...they're scouting in Australia...well there is a great actor down under by the name of NATHAN JONES! who would be perfect for the role of "The Final Henchman"...they should just call it the FU...or maybe that's what they should just rename the WWE...whatever..why won't Vince just stick to what he's good at.

I know..I know...we're all begging for this to stop...but in the words of "THE GREATEST Of ALL TIME"...to A MikeSC...I have to give you a receipt since you took my comments the wrong way... 1. I said to an extent Bret made UT and HBK...I know that UT was and always would've been a star without Bret but up to that point in his career his matches were slooow and didn't really show what he could do...it was all about the supernatural and getting his shit knocked in by these big-ass characters(Gonzalez, Kamala, Yoko..which was quite good, the Million Dollar Corporation) so that he could go on hiatus for a while and then make his big return..I'm not saying it didn't work because it did but from a match quality perspective they wern't all that good..his matches with Bret from SS and One Night Only were good and showed what UT could do with a real wrestler and took him out of that scene were his fueds were based on his urn being stolen or whatever..imo it transitioned him into the main scene even though he was champ during that time frame..and yes I know that Vince had already made the move but Bret definately helped...and Shawn would've also been great but it was his runs with Bret that made him famous...from the time HBK went single Bret was there to work with him...but Austin is fo' sho and you can't argue with that nor that Vince woud've been as impactful with Austin without what Bret was already doing with him..Bret was working the "you are screwing me! " angle long before Montreal... 2. Again I said "setting the scene"...which he did...everybody says even though the ratings weren't there that WWF had the better product for at least a year before t.v cought up with them and the screw job did as much for the company as Tyson and Stone Cold did. 3. He was the top heel and had U.S fans in such a rage that not many heels can get these days.. and really the only heels to keep that rage after he left was Vince and Shawn and the Rock..see above points for explanation on the latter two. 4. Credit were credit is due but I said he set it up...keep in mind Bret has some imput into the setting before he left. 5. They didn't have to be a better booker...hell just keep the character going...better booker or not they whipped Vince for months(yes while Bret was champ) just by using WWF guys in the same fashion as when they left ...Bret couldv'e showed up as Bret Hart..the "real WWF Champion" as somebody else said and played off the WWF's comments on the matter..instead they changed everything and well I don't even want to go into everything they screwed up down there but the fact is they had a ready made story and they wasted it...just like... 6. ....The Invasion and the NWO!...and Ric Flair was part of WCW right..thanks for proving part of our point that Ric Flair didn't draw.."at all"..but I'll help you out and say that Invasion with Steiner, Goldberg, Flair and the NWO along with proper booking of DDP and Booker T and no Stephanie with a face Shane would've worked...Vince can make anything work(look at Eugene, Val Venis's initial run and so much more) if he puts his heart into it..but he waited to bring in the big names until after the angle was over...maybe it would've tanked but it's obvious that the angle that fans wanted was killed without any effort being put into it...done well it could've brought Sting in..and unlike the NFL it is a work and you can develope around weaknesses. Like Bret in WCW they were ready made stories that should've wrote themselves but Vince put his ego above his company's success. It should've ended at Mania instead of three WWF guys with two "Alliance" guys versus WWF guys at Survivor Series. 7. Touche...got caught up in the debate..sorry.. 8. Things may have gotten a little crazy here but I did go back and watch some of Bret's big matches and then watched the Flair DVD and I still think Bret/Davey is better than what most could do..imo I can't find many that are better in moves and pyschology...I'm a big mark for suspending my own disbelief when it comes to pro-wrestling and Bret for the most part was always able to make everything seem real and legit..like with Davey, Perfect, Shawn, Vince and Austin...Flair raley could make me believe that outside of his interviews(which are great) becuase in the ring he just did the same thing and was too dramatic...Bret conveyed emotion on levels most can't do both in the ring and outside. 9. KoTR '93(the tourny at least) is the best of them all and really showed what Bret could do...he was the true champion in my eyes still and I thought that it really showed what a champion should be unlike Hogan at the time who looked weak in a squash match against Yoko...and SS later that year he did the same thing with two guys that you wouldn't have thought could be that good...Doink and the Lawler who hadn't done anything in years looked credible and again..the emotion felt very real...and I enjoyed Lex/Yoko in a Hogan/Andre way and thought that it was a good show. 10. Bret's impact was huge and many pro's admit that and I guess we'll never know who could've taken who. 11. I can't stand it when fans are having a debate and then somebody says.."it's all a work you know" it just takes the fun out of all of this...next time your watching Flair and marking out and get excited I hope somebody leans over and says "it's all fake you know"...we ALL know it's a work damnit. 12. I'm a fan of Bret and that's what I believe..take it for whatever it's worth..yes he was nothing in WCW but he was the best in the WWF for many years and when he said that he always got a pop because the fans know what he meant and respected that. Flair's just pissed that Vince who made him feel so great in 92' had lost his interest and wanted to put the belt on a guy who was better in the ring..something that Flair thought he was the best at. 13. Just making a point... 14. and 15. My point was that Bret was dicked over so hard in life, mostly by or around one man, and his misfortunes lead to retirement and not a continued national, on air once a week stage so that everybody could give him verbal blowjobs week in and week out like they do so often with Flair..imagine if Flair had retired ten or fifteen years ago...I think that if Bret were still around and back in the WWE people would be trumpeting him as the greatest too...especially with a few more big runs like Flair has been getting time and time again..Flair was in a pretty crappy company in for most of his career with no real stars...I think that people saw what he was in his prime and how much of a star he was in one section of the country and were always trying to rekindle that same magic with little success... Above all what I've learned from this surreal debate is that is that each of us remember a time that we thought wrestling was great and these two guys represented that..I was never really a NWA or WCW fan until the Monday Night Wars because the production was bad and the stars looked bland..I used to think that Flair was the greatest until I understood what working was and saw through his act...Bret on the other hand was always entertaining to me and to see where we're at now with the sport just isn't fun anymore...and Flair seems more and more like he's trying to defend a legacy that wasn't really being challenged until his comments about Bret and others...I'm not saying the Ric Flair can't say what he wants but he was taking shots at the guy that he had to drop the title to for no real reason other than amongst fans Bret is considered to be one of the greatest and in many views the best in ring worker besides HBK. I'll say no more on the matter. Please guys don't blast me for this long-ass post if anybody even reads it..I probably wouldn't.

Boyscout(ass the special edition should be called) is one bad as flick..I watch it from time to time and think it is one of the best...it could've easily been Die Hard 4 even though Die Harder came out after..buit none the less a great flick...I love showing it to people who've never seen it.

Ahhhh for fucks sake I know that this is 5 days old but I just can't take it anymore...the g'd difference between Bret's so called "five moves of doom" are that they are offensive, knock the mother fucker down and out so that when he slaps the sharpshooter on you you don't know what the fuck just happened...today most wrestlers...especially Flairs favorite dick-to-suck HHH are lucky to put together such a move set...Ric Flair on the other hand would do the same stupid ass thing as a result of what others did TO HIM...now tell me how the fuck one guy falls the same way time after time when there are ten or twenty different people giving him shots...it's stupid and yes...it exposed the business long before the net and Montreal and Bischoff...Flair practiclly admits it in his own book when talking about the North Koreans figuring out that pro wrestling was a work..I took it as a wink wink when Flair said" well he won't do that to me" and if you didn't read the book then maybe I'll explain later...Brets moveset always made him seem more of an athlete because athletes use similair offensive sets in every game they played... Nobody says Jordan was repiticious for dunking...I mean it just made sense where as Flair just looked funny...and I still look forward to his comedy but damnit all he did expose wrestling for what it was...I hate it when guys take moves the same from multiple wrestles...hell Bret did it too all the time when somebody would whip him into the turnbuckle sternum first...the difference was still better because it looked fucking painful and was believable...jesus that's all for now...Bret rules and Flair is a legend but overrated just like every other damn wrester on the planet...my only question is now that we've managed to tear both our greats down who's left...HBK? Yeah he sucks too I guess...fuck all of us because we get so worked up over this crap..and I haven't really watched wrestling for years
-
Ditto. That night was great...until that. Shane McMahon finally turns heel as the WCW owner, laying a beatdown on Taker...kinda, and having DDP diamondcut Sara. Then we have the ECW Reunion with Tommy Dreamer & Rob Van Dam running in from the crowd. Then we have the ECW & WCW formation, which wasn't too bad. Then Steph is the "owner". (toilet flushes) Yeah but I think everybody will agree that Steph looked smokin that night in that skirt....

They are both great but I think Flair was out of line on many levels...Bret always put on great matches and made many a superstar that went on to be considered the greats of wrestling(Stone Cold,Davey Boy, Owen, Shawn to an extent as well as UT, especially VINCE!!) while setting the scene for the greatest run the WWE has ever sean...without his heel run I don't WWF(E) could've reached those levels...Montreal remade Vince and set up that magnificent run for all of those guys while Bret was F'd over in WCW...I mean if you wanted to compete with Vince why do the things to Bret that they did...the controversy was at fever pitch levels because of that and only a deaf, blind mute(or Vince ala Invasion or NWO) could've wasted such an opportunity.....anybody who disagrees is retarded...just watch SummerSlam 92...no match has come close to levels of that greatness...King of the Ring 93...even SummerSlam 93 was great because of the efforts of Bret with a retired legend(the King) and Lex with Yoko...yeah Flair made Sting and his feud Funk was off the charts but Bret made more of an impact on this sport that most have in the last decade or so...in a shoot match Bret would whip damn near anybody besides maybe Brock or Angle(Owen too)..Flair would have had no chance against him at any point in his career...Bret Hart is the greatest wrestler in the history of the business hands down and Flair is simply afraid that his legacy might be tarnished...remember that being 16 time champ only means that he lost the title more anybody else too...had Bret not only had the misfortunes of Montreal,Owen, WCW politics, Davey's death, family manipulation from Vince and fucking Goldberg kicking him into oblivion but a stroke from all of this bullshit that killed his in ring career...Bret didn't have the continued platform that Flair had to continually renew his positionas the greatest..this article was amazing..Bret may have have been over emotional but anybody who has a brother who has died will relate to his position...and his points on Flair were dead-on...people may say Bret bitches too much but damnit all of you are always interested in what he has to say...I praise everyone on this board who stands with the Hitman because he deserves nothing less....

I have the perfect soluton for this(and maybe it's because I'm wasted fall down drunk and I'm listin' to Massive Attack's Protecton right now)...Kane's supernatural right and can do damn near anything at this point so he should be able to travel into the future...so Lita turns out to be Bischof's sister and sensing that crazy Lita could do anything in her current emotional state Kane uses his amazing powers to travel into the future to save her baby before she Lita-saults herself in the stomach..then Kane raises his son(ala Adveture of Cyclops and Phoenix) who turns out to be MENTALY CHALLENGED!! Kane uses his vast abilites to send them back in time to when the child was still unborn...but the child is fully grown and wants to be World Champion like his presumed father..anyone know where this storyline is going? YES....Kane and Lita's son is EUGENE!!! This is fuckin golden I tell you!!! All of a sudden it's 1999 and the ratings will hit the ROOF!! No applause needed for saving Raw and this great storyline.....thank you ..thank you...this saves two burnt out storys...Reign knows

I think we're scheduled to have Mick on live later this month or early next month. Not to mark out too much but HOLY CRAP!!!! It's Dickerman!!!! You rock man!!

I didn't know 21 people in the world were that fucking retarded 1. Vince(of course he likes it) 2. Linda(still holdin' on to the idea that Vince is just "acting" with Trish and Stacy) 3. Shane( baby needs some new shoes) 4. Stephanie(says she did but probably hated it like she does the rest of the WWE) 5. HHH('hey I think Eddie needs to lose the belt too, I lost mine) 6. Brisco(really LOVES Vince) 7. Patterson(REALLY LOVES the boys, especially new champ's broom stick) 8. Slaughter(because Vince still lets him get on tv) 9. Good Ol JR( has too as part of the KMA Club) 10. Regal(see entry #9) 11. JBL( what a motherfucker) 12. Brock Lesner(who REALLY looks like the man now?) 13.Meltzer(something to talk about whether he says it or not) 14. Johnny Ace( because he and buddy Tom Zenk are working the WWE right now and laughing their asses off as they flush SD! down the toilet) 15. UT( a main event squash?get the f' out) 16. Matt Hardy( at least there are worst fates for him) 17. Baby Shane( what...you think they aint got him watching PPVs yet) 18. Jerry Jarrett(loves watching Vince fuck himself) 19. Kevin Dunn(he better fuckin say he liked it) 20.Bruce Pritchard( enjoys killing innocent brands as much as he does burying that bloated Paul Bearer in oatmeal) 21. Me....yeah I was the last 21st retard that said I like the show...something about watching silent crowds suffer through this garbage is appealing.
-
X really does need to stay out for at least a month or so ...but no video packages for his return or anything...just let him come out and manage Trish and Tomko..maybe by that time Evolution will be splinted and he and his group can join with Batista and Orton and..God willing...Flair as the all wise adsvisor....I think that Christian was heading for the main event and his return will only hasten that push like every other return of a loyal worker. Look for him at Survor Series or the Rumble to be in the top spot. Just a thought....
-
It's a sad day when fans realize that Lita has more of an impact than Matt Hardy...and what the fuck DID she do anyways...
-
I'll be the first to say that SD! is in the toilet right now but the blame falls on the brand split...Vince is obviously grooming new stars but the only place to do that is on Raw because of the talent there...having guys like Orton, Shelton, and Batista work with HBK,HHH and Flair with help them along a heck of a lot more than them working with just Eddie on SD!...having all the talent centralized on Raw will get those guys the experience they need to get both brands over further down the road...your thoughts? Modnote: I renamed the thread title from "Smackdown WILL be Great Again". Any new threads started on why smackdown sucks or similar will be merged, unless there's a good reason to keep them. This means any news stories, too. If in doubt, put it here.

Anybody know how much a good seat'll run you?
-
I have no idea really...I just know that they start talking about Wrestlemania so damn early that I thought the tickets may already be on sale
-
Are tickets even on sale yet or is the next Mania already sold out? I think I'd like to go.
-
What really sucks is that all of the cruisers with the exception of Tajari and the Hurricane are all on SD! and nobody knows what the fuck to do on that show even with Eddie and RVD so how can we expect Vince to do anything with those smaller guys...it's a terrible thing when your show sucks and you have 13 answers sitting in your locker room and don't use them...I've said it before...you wouldn't even need a storyline for the most part...vacate the title and hold a summer long round robin tourney...that way everybody gets to wrestle each other over a drawn out period so that everybody gets some exposure...they could really use some of the flash of WCW's division...I mean every week we got to see all these great characters like Pyscochis...all we get are Virginia trash and a bunch of Japanese guys...it always seems out of place
-
Tables that shatter when looked out the wrong way....and the fact that nobody can do any actual wrestling moves any more like variations of the pile-driver and high impact moves...most of the roster's moveset is pretty tired.
