  1. I don't know, but I really didn't care for this match. The opening minutes were nothing but stalling and clubberin. The first fall was a piss-poor re-enactment of the 6-7 falls in the JD match. It would have been better if Cole/Tazz reminded everyone that a similar strategy was used by HHH in the other match (although the net would therefore conclude that HHH is trying to put himself over on SD) instead of playing dumb for five minutes. The other thing that bugged me was that Angle looked horrible in the match. No, his wrestling performance was fine, but he basically got his ass kicked the majority of the match. Lesnar dominated the first 40 or so minutes with only brief spurts from Angle. It almost seemed like a glorified squash. Other nitpicks: -Too many ankle locks -Ref bump only half way through the match -Blatant stalling -NO AMATEUR SEQUENCES -They both seemed lost at many points during the match Ok, I'm done complaining. The match wasn't a total waste, but it was certainly the worst of their 3 major encounters. I'd give it **3/4 - ***, but that's it.
  2. Could someone give me a refresher on Edge/Angle. I don't remember that match at all.
  3. I can't believe I forgot 3 key unintentional moments involving Kane. -JR BBQ -Attempting to jump start Shane's nads And one that hasn't been mentioned yet: Kane unmasks and reveals the worst haircut and make up job ever!
  4. Intentional: Rock rips Toronto Rock/Hurricane exchanges Cena rips everyone Eddie G. bitches about Benoit as a travel partner Unintentional: Steiner's flying chop block Goldberg's various "locker rooms" HHHello Steiner gets booed because the "U.S. flag is on his tights" HHH and Nash brawl to a chorus of boos and 'Diesel Sucks' chants Gail Kim matches Most Failed Attempt At Humor: Redneck Triathalon
  5. At Uncensored 97: Dusty: Very astute obsahvation. Good call, Tonay. Tony: Well, Dream, I have been doing this for about 10 years now. Bobby: Yeah, and maybe one day you'll be good.
  6. FB 97 looked like a real solid card as well. I've only seen one match from it (War games), and only know the rest from old WCW magazine. Although, I would bet a large sum of money that the 15-20 minutes of Eddy/Jericho, Wright/Dragon, and Jarrett/Malenko were quite good. Is it just me, or did anyone else think that the WG was really good?
  7. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't find anything with my search results. So, just what are your favorite fan attacks. Dean Malenko vs. Psychosis (Nitro, 97): This decent match was interrupted by one of my favorite fans ever. The guy jumps the barrier and crawls on the apron, but as he sticks his head through the ropes, Ref Mark Curtis boots the guy right in the face before slapping the lethal front facelock on him. Dean and Psychosis each take their shots while the guy is held and security drags him away. Hogan vs. Piper in a cage (Halloween Havoc, 97): After a Piper victory, he was fending off Hogan, Savage, and a fake sting. A fan, sensing Piper was in trouble, decided to take matters into his own hands and climb the cage. As he was about 3/4 of the way up he lost his footing and had to regain his balance, giving plenty of time for the NWO to organize the ass-kicking they were about to inflict upon him. As the poor fan finally scaled the cage, he was immediately tackled against the steel by the fake sting who had been "incapacitated" by Piper. Hogan and Savage came over and rolled him in the ring. They each took turns holding him while the other punched him in the stomach and face. Security tried to drag him out, but the Mega Powers kept stomping him. This was so brutal to do a fan, so I'm undecided on whether or not it was a work. RVD vs. Eddie Guerrero in a ladder match (Raw, 02): As Eddie was climbing the ladder, an ignorant fan rushed the ring and pushed it over. Luckily, Eddie landed on his feet. He then proceeded to turn around and pop the fan right in the mouth. As securtiy rolled him out of the ring, Eddie kicked him in the gut for good measure. So, what are yours?

  9. Who would have high expectations for that one? However, that match was so horrendously atrocious, that even those with the lowest expectations would have been disappointed.
  10. Based on the reactions to the Gowen segment, I thought this was very ironic (being posted 3 months ago and all).
  11. Cruiserweight title taking precidence over WWE title? What gives? (not that I'm complaining, mind you)
  12. Cowboys: 24 points New York Jets @ Washington Redskins - Jets New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills - Patriots Jacksonville Jaguars @ Carolina Panthers - Jags Denver Broncos @ Cincinnati Bengals - Broncos Indianapolis Colts @ Cleveland Browns - Colts Arizona Cardinals @ Detroit Lions - Lions Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers - Packers San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs - Chiefs Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins- Dolphins St. Louis Rams @ New York Giants - Rams Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers - Steelers Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys - Cowboys Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers - 49ers New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks - Seahawks Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans - Raiders Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Philadelphia Eagles - Bucs (lock)
  13. Question: Should we put how many points we think our team will score with our predictions?
  14. 2001: Some wrestlers will have to pull double duty for this one. 1. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho (RR) 2. Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle (Slam) 3. Torrie vs. Stacy (No Mercy- random T&A filler match) 4. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle (WM) 5. HHH vs. Taker (WM) 6. Edge vs. Lance Storm (Slam) 7. RVD vs Jeff Hardy (Invasion) 8. Rock vs Steve Austin (WM)
  15. My WCW 97 card: 1. Juvi/Lizmark Jr/Hector Garza vs. Villano 4/Psychosis/La Parka (BATB) 2. Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio (HH) 3. Chris Jericho vs. Ultimo Dragon (BATB) 4. Dean Malenko vs. Jeff Jarrett (Slamboree) 5. DDP vs. Savage (HH) 6. Ric Flair vs. Curt Hennig (WW3) 7. Hogan vs. Sting (SC) You don't get too many classic title matches when Hogan only defends the belt 6-7 times. I'd love to include Malenko/Guerrero from Uncensored, but Eddie/Rey takes precidence.
  16. As much as that was funny....Eddy falling out of the ring for no reason is funnier. I consider that whole sequene one giant fuck-up. From Test not being able to go over the top rope withouf getting caught, to Saturn pounding Test for about 2 minutes while the ref tries to get him undone, to Eddie getting the "Oh my god this is embarassing" look and reluctantly helping out, to falling on his ass and 67,000+ laughing at him. Even though it took about 3 minutes on camera, it must have felt like 2 hours for everyone involved.
  17. Chris Jericho at WCW Nitro in Toronto: "You know, as I was walking through the beautiful streets of Toronto, I was thinking... (crowd starts to cheer)... Man am I glad I moved to the States because Canada SUCKS! (crowd boos furiously)
  18. I'm surprised no one's mentioned Test getting stuck in the ropes at WM 17. Now for some Bret Hart WCW promos: Sid, you big, stupid dummy! Terry Funk... You're stupid... and old. And nobody likes you cause you're stupid and old.
  19. Minus the HHH/Goldberg promo, they should just cut their losses and pretend last week's Raw never happened. For Kane and Shane: Kane needs to bust Shane open, pour whiskey on the wound, set him on fire, and run over his ambulance with a semi-truck. Shane could then get out and pummel Kane, causing him to flee yet again. Shane chases him down and puts him in his version of the sharpshooter and Kane taps and begs for mercy at Shane's feet.
  20. I have to agree with everyone who says the RKO (calling that pile of crap a Diamond Cutter is a slap in the face to DDP) is one of the worst. Every time I see it, I am instantly reminded of Hogan's version. Hogan butchered many moves in his time, but his rendition of the ankle lock was atrocious.
  21. ^^^ Actually, Buff Bagwell was Rick's partner, but he turned on him about 5 seconds in to the match. That led to the whole Judy Bagwell/Kenny Kaos mess. Leave it to WCW to put a title on Buff Bagwell's mother. Thank the lord the Steiner/Kaos team was forgotten and we got teams like Benoit/Malenko, Raven/Saturn, Hennig/Windham, and Kidman/Mysterio to attempt to salvage that mess of a division.
  22. Rick and Scott Steiner had no contests for about 4 months in WCW. I think in one match they went about 5 minutes before Rick won. Flair/Hogan HHH/Rock HHH/Austin Trish/Jazz
  23. Oh God. I remember when Buff Bagwell would do his ring intros and call him that. I'm surprised no one's mentioned "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry. "Human Suplex Machine" wasn't too great either. Now I love Chris Jericho (in a totally hetero way, of course), but "King of Bling Bling" is kinda lame.
  24. Manster is a horrible nickname. However, it's not as bad as "The Creature from the Planet Goldberg," "Booger Red," "Big Nasty," "Freakzilla," or "Bubba Tough." (I think this is what JR called Bubba Dudley for a bit, then stopped when he realized it sucked)
  25. Cowboys - 21 8/27 New England 8/28 Detroit Philadelphia Minnesota Atlanta Tampa Bay Kansas City New Orleans Baltimore Dallas Green Bay Jacksonville 8/29 Indianapolis Pittsburgh Seattle San Francisco
