That's interesting--I heard the director of the movie interviewed by Michael Medved. Medved made the comment that one of reasons he liked the movie was that it avoided the usual "Corporations are bad" Hollywood mantra. The director thanked him for that comment. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

That's a perceptive observation. It may or may not be accurate, but damn, well thought out. I just hope that it won't go in the Fantasy Island direction, i.e. people get life lessons, closure on various parts of their lives through traumatic experiences, while all the time never really being in danger. Oh yeah, Locke is the best character on TV in a long time.

Damn, I just watched the video labeled "from Thailand (Thanks to Alex)". It's 1.5 MB. The camera follows a mass of water rushing inland and at the very end, right before the video stops, there are 3 guys standing there, about to be blown away by the water.

Macy's Department store is removing all references to the word Christmas from their store signage and advertising. However, they don't have a problem using the word Christmas in the advertising title "after Christmas Sale" once Dec. 25th has passed. Library officials in King County, Washington were not allowing Christmas trees to be put up until they backtracked and are now allowing library managers to make the decision themselves. King County Journal Schools throughout the country are prohibiting certain Christmas songs to be sung during school celebrations. A New Jersey high school band was not allowed to play the full or instrumental versions of Christmas carols.

Where is that quote from? It certainly isn't a professional piece of journalism. Looks like some dumbfuck writing about what he heard from a friend (I don't mean you, Jason). There are several misspelled words and some incorrect comma use. And the word "blackboy" would never appear in print.

10yr girl old cuffed and dragged to jail for...

These zero-tolerance policies are ridiculous. Some girl here where I live got EXPELLED from school for having a Motrin or Advil, something like that at school. It violated the school's zero tolerance drug policy. Fucking morons. -
To be fair to Macy's--they are still using Santa Clause and they do play Christmas music. But they still feel that they cannot use "Merry Christmas" in the signs and advertising. Also, many corporations have sent out memos advising employees to avoid saying or writing "Merry Christmas" in their communications so as not to be exclusionary or offensive to Jews, Muslims, Atheists, etc. Back when I worked at a bookstore I would say Merry Christmas to the customers as they bought their stuff. Occasionally I would get the mean-faced stare of someone who apparently thought I was being exclusionary--there might have been a Jew within hearing distance I guess.

DAMAGEPLAN - Concert Shooting Update Added Thursday, December 9 Added By: EvilG DAMAGEPLAN Concert Shooting Update: Gunman Blames Dimebag For Breaking Up PANTERA. Australia’s The Age (www.theage.com.au) has issued the following report: An enraged fan has walked onstage in a crowded US nightclub during a heavy metal concert and opened fire on the band and the audience, killing five people - including at least one band member - before being shot dead by police. Members of DAMAGEPLAN had just begun their first song at the metal music venue Alrosa Villa when the man opened fire, initially targeting guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, a former member of PANTERA, one of the world's biggest metal bands, then his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul, another former Pantera member. "I was up close to the stage on the side where Dimebag was playing," wrote one fan on the band's website. "Then I saw the guy jump out of the crowd onto the stage. He was yelling something about how 'You broke up Pantera, you ruined my life. What about Phil?' " - referring to Phil Anselmo, the Pantera singer who did not join Damageplan. " 'He needs heroin money.' "Then I saw the gun and he shot DBD (Dimebag) right in the head. When DBD went down he kept shooting. Then he turned around for (other band members) Bob Zilla, then Vinnie. "The whole time I thought it was part of the show. I had blood on me I was so close. I'm still freakin' out here... "The cops showed up and then people started sayin' that DBD was killed... There's some blood on my ticket stub, so I'm going to sell it on eBay or keep it or something. I know DBD is in heaven (or ripping some mad riffs in hell)." The other dead have not been named. Other notices on the website - which noted that objects were already for sale on eBay - were not so heartfelt. "Personally, I want a refund," wrote one. Someone else, under the name h8breedsh8, wrote: "Hate to say it, but when your lyrics and lifestyle glorify hate and death and misery endlessly, as every band that plays this club does, this type of #### is inevitable. Plenty of suicides were blamed on Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult back in the '70s. Only diff is that now the psychos take a bunch of people with them!" Pantera toured Australia twice, in 1994 and in 1996. It split in 2003 and siblings Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul formed Damageplan. Source: www.theage.com.au / www.bravewords.com

I love hearing Bill Walton during games. I like .... Brent Musberger. I know everyone hates this guy, I don't know, he always seems genuinely excited about each game. Despite being a Cincinnati resident and Bengals fan, I somehow always want the Steelers to win whatever game they are in if I'm watching it. I can't stand the legend that is Pat Summerall. Maybe he was better in his younger days, but wow. And I hated his US Open tennis broadcasts.

Yale students, posing as Harvard Prep club members, passed out cards for Harvard fans to hold up during the game. They were told it would spell out "Go Harvard" when they were collectively held up and flipped over. It actually spelled "We Suck". A simple prank, but effective. Photo can be seen here, as well as a video. www.harvardsucks.org

SportsLine.com wire reports AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta National chairman Hootie Johnson said Friday that Steve Spurrier is not guaranteed a membership at the home of the Masters if he becomes the head football coach at South Carolina. Lou Holtz is resigning at the end of the season, presumably paving the way for Spurrier to replace him. Holtz is a member at Augusta National, and Johnson played fullback for the Gamecocks in the early 1950s. "To state or imply that a membership at Augusta National Golf Club would be linked to any job or position is completely false," Johnson said. "An invitation to become a member of Augusta National is very special and would never be tied to anything except personal relationships within this club." Holtz formerly coached at Arkansas in the late 1970s, and he and former Arkansas athletic director Frank Broyles have long been friends with former Augusta National chairman Jack Stephens.

Whenever the U.N. comes up, I think of the Batman movie with Adam West, where the U.N. members are zapped into colorful piles of ground up matter and placed in clear tube. I'd love to see Annan--and a few choice others--in tubes on a mantle in the Oval Office.

The site below will not let me save any of their pictures, which I was going to post here. All I can say is, go there and be prepared to run screaming into the night. http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archive...elebrities.html Christ in heaven, Kylie Minogue is hideous.

Consider yourself as being wrong. I've known him for 25 years.

I see, you are not fond of the policy that they are carrying out....but you are fond of how they carry out the policy... You need to examine your thinking on this.
-
No, it makes them illogical. As far as liberalism being a mental disease, he means the far left, the extreme left, the real nut-jobs. Like the people that claim Bush went into Afghanistan for the drug trade, etc.
-
That's true, they don't want them harmed, but so what...that isn't supporting them at all. "I hope you don't get killed" is not supporting them. If you do not support the mission that they are engaged in, you do not support them. BTW, you said you're pro-war (in favor of our actions in Iraq?)--then don't be so hard on SideFxs. You are in agreement with him on that. He speaks bluntly, deal with it.
-
Brilliantly stated. The ridiculous line "I'm against the war... but I support the troops", which became popular during the Gulf War in 1991, is the height of idiocy. I believe some people were trying to be sincere while expressing this early on, but now it is just a line to, as BDC said, cover their asses.

Here's a close up of the top picture.

Jesus, you either have no memory or you don't get out much. Try reading more. Those are pictures of American civilian contractors who were murdered last year in Fallajuh. You can't see the dead American strung up at the top of the top picture?

speaking of pyramids and the Americas, an interesting fact: The Great Pyramid in Egypt has a slope angle of approx. 51 degrees. No other ancient pyramid on Earth was able to be built with that angle.... except for one in Central America. -
Just a reminder of the acts and attitude of many in Fallujah:
