  1. Norm's one of those guys, who anything he does or says is hilarious to me (see A Minute with Stan Hooper), and everytime I watch Dirty Work, I die laughing. It's my favourite movie. Is the acting and directing horrible? Yes. But that's part of it's charm. The way they write off Dr. Farthing is great. Screwed is so bad, yet I laugh anyway
  2. Dr. Farthing, what happened to your arm? Well, it was from either sleeping on it the wrong way, or bookmakers throwing me out of a speeding car.
  3. Oh- sorry. Really not much to the story. My friend and I went to the Daily Show to meet him, and even though there weren't many people there, he only stopped and signed for a second and wouldn't take any photos. I told him I'd been a fan since the Dana Carvey Show, and he thanked me. But I didn't get a picture out of it.
  4. I also don't have the PYBO, which sucks, since I loved Foley/Edge v. Dreamer/Funk. Any suggestions?
  5. Lifeboat was amazing
  6. Why was the baby at Black Snake Moan? Why was I the only one who heard it?
  7. This time I was arguing with Jingus and Eric. I've excepted that mole can be more particular and obsessive than me, which is really sad.
  8. I'm watching Summer League Basketball. Is that a new level of sad?
  9. She should look into captioned theatres. I don't know if her eyesight is a issue but captioned theatres are for the most part quite accessible. Hmmmm, I don't know if they have those around here. She usually just goes to foreign films. When I saw Good Night and Good Luck, a woman coughed the whole way through. Really? You couldn't go to the bathroom or get a glass of water?
  10. I don't know, I can see that deal strangely working out for him. Carrey's an interesting case, b/c it's obvious he just wants to do dramas, but no one will see them. So he's fucked
  11. I don't think you missed much in Coyote Ugly. It seems a lot of people don't get that during the movie, you watch the movie. After the movie, you discuss the movie.
  12. Okay, that's just sad. Agreed. It all depends on the context. Sometimes it can be really funny and totally work, but most of the time, you're just a loser interrupting a movie. My friend and I riffed on I Know Who Killed Me, but we at least tried to do it not that much and quietly. The cell phone thing amazes me. Really, it's 2008 and you don't know to silence or shut off your cell phone? Really? When I went to the movies on Friday, someone's phone was on low battery, and it kept making the low battery beeping noise. When I saw Brokeback Mountain, the scene where they find out Jake Gyllenhall died, a cell phone went off right there- perfect timing, since it completely ruined the movie. The person of course couldn't find the phone as well. Perfect. I check the time a lot when I go to the movies, but luckily I don't have to open my phone up to do that. You paid $10 to see the movie, watch it! That's a good talent to have. I think there was one movie where I just blurted out loud "What IS THIS movie?" It worked. Also, I saw the Strangers recently. It was pretty scary, but at this point, I know to differeniate between false scares and real scares. The girls sitting near me, who screamed at every little thing, did not.
  13. They already did Triple H v. Undertaker at Wrestlemania in Houston. I'd rather they just feed Taker to some guy and let him have his precious streak, if he's not going to end it.
  14. Agreed! My grandma's basically deaf, so movies are hard for her, but she gets through it. At Notorious, the woman in my row kept shushing the woman behind us, and the old woman responded by shushing back. Meanwhile, there's a movie going on!
  15. I'll respond to more later, but as I said in the Movies folder- old people at movies are just as bad, if not worse. I get that you can't hear what's going on because you're old and fucking deaf, but too bad- shut the fuck up and accept that you missed a line of dialogue. By asking your other old hard of hearing friend what they said, now, I'm missing dialogue
  16. Have you ever seen Notorious? Just because she was a chick of the '40s, doesn't make her any less attractive
  17. Doneal Mack transferred from Memphis to the University of New Orleans. Apparently, now he's transferring back
  18. Oh shit, that WAS the kid from Friday Night Lights. Peter Berg is awesome, I think my love for him has reached gay levels.
  19. That's not what I said at all, Eric. I don't think you've ever seen a movie adaptation of a book in your life. The Harry Potter movies are tremendously faithful given they have to transfer 500+ pages of text into a 2 hr+ movie.
  20. http://www.apple.com/trailers/dreamworks/rainofmadness/
  21. Apparantly, the reason Will Smith turned down the Matrix when he was offered it was because he wanted Neo to tell more jokes. That doesn't sound like an actor who wants to play the same role every time? That was ten years ago. Cruise's starpower is starting to fade, but I think his Tropic Thunder cameo might restore some goodwill
  22. Before American Gangster, Crowe hadn't had a hit film since Beautiful Mind. Will Smith is easily on top right now. I think the days where stars guaranteed a top box office is starting to fade. Look at Charlie Wilson's War- Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks and it can't even crack 70 mil
  23. Fuck you. So? How often does expansion make any league "better?" Expansion hasn't made the NBA "better" since the ABA merger. I love how defensive Slim Citrus gets over everything. I mean, really, it's the Charlotte Bobcats. At least he made sure to say it in teal. I'm usually against expansion for that reason, you're just weakening the talent pool. Given how worthless the Grizzlies and Bobcats are, the NBA would probably be better if they had 28 teams.
  24. It does bother me, but it's one of my little idiosyncracies and neuroses. Who likes the Charlotte Bobcats? The NBA didn't need 30 teams, and I don't think the league is any better now that Charlotte got another team.
  25. Yea, Bowfinger's hilarious. And I liked the first Shrek
